Oh good, I was starting to wonder where my money went. Elusive targets should be made more frequent though. The game's been out for months and I've exhausted myself on it, save for a few odds and player-made ends. For the past few months it's felt like I've been dripfed ET suits to use on... other ETs.
a little disappointed that the prison location is used for a sniper map, but the resort and bank look dope
also can't wait for seeing 47 do dumb shit with emotes
i'd imagine, given how much pushback there's been on ET's, that a dev reading this comment might start bleeding from the eyes and fall over, dead.
When I'm on trial I'd like my attorney to read the following statement:
The problem isn't the ETs themselves being released so slowly, it's that the suits are attached to them. Cosmetics are better released early in a game's lifespan, when players still have plenty of fresh gameplay to use them for, rather than once they've played it all, and have less new content to come back to.
Hopefully the new locations and other missions will somewhat plug that gap in the meantime.
It’s a stupid idea but if they’re going to run with it at least make it frequent. They’d be fine if they were like small scale bonus missions, but they’re 20 minute one and dones.
if they’re not going to budge on this dumb system it would be nice to at least be timely manner especially given the cosmetic unlocks
Holy shit this. I absolutely love the Blood Money suit and I'm about to finally unlock it again, but by this point I won't use it much since I'm burnt out on the game. I wish all of the suits were tied to challenges (like the James Bond suit) and they had some other unlock for ETs. At least we have the expansion content coming soon I guess.
tbh having not played any of the sniper missions it seems like they kind of blew some of their more visually/conceptually interesting ideas on them, rather than make them into more in-depth traditional missions.
like obviously it's great that they're not neglecting sniper assassin, it just kind of annoys me that the for regular levels you get places it looks like we've pretty much already seen (chintzy public building and an exotic foreign resort), whereas the places with potentially more interesting opportunities or social situations are basically shooting galleries.
i'm sure they'll all be great levels though, just seems like a missed opportunity
i'd blame that on it being easier to design interesting looking areas when you don't have to bother making them interesting to navigate on foot. If we could just boot up a sniper map in normal gameplay (forgetting about stuff like walls not facing the sniper position going unrendered and stuff like that) it would probably be really boring to run around on a stage that's mostly big, flat, outdoor courtyards.
curtains down definitely has a random witness problem. I always figured it was the second actor, somehow he always points me out if I stick around after doing the main SA method
Aside from the actual two new locations we're getting, I'm also really happy they're adding additional missions to existing locations.
I get some people were disapointed in Hitman 2016 that they basically replaced getting new locations, but I personally really liked having a twist on previous locations with new targets and subtle level changes, down to the time of day.
Now just hoping they have a nighttime Miami mission planned for Expansion Pack 2.
Finally got the Italian suit back (especially nice for Florida and the upcoming resort), and the classic winter suit, so I can finally pretend to be Lorne Malvo in Hitman 2.

I thought that at least one of the new locations would be a winter setting because there are four unlockable winter outfits in the game but ah well.
Would it be safe to assume the new locations will be smaller? No bank is as large as a Hitman 2 level, unless they include some of the surrounding area.
There are some very big banks, my friend.
Indeed there are, and I could picture the bank being about the size of the Palais de Walewska or Himmapan Hotel if we're lucky, maybe with less floors and more horizontal space. I doubt we'll have a bank the size of Sapienza or the Florida level. My bets are on some opportunities coming from outside the bank and in a few surrounding buildings.
It’s not like Hitman 2 areas haven’t had buildings not directly related to their locale before. Besides, I could see a big bank being whittleton creek size. One worth doing business with 47 involved somehow, anyways
"No bank is a Hitman 2 level size"
All my visits to the Benevolent Bank in Payday were... wrong?
I had the Benevolent in mind, but that's still pretty small on the Hitman 2 scale.
I'm honestly fine with smaller levels once in a while. I feel like Hitman levels are getting a bit too big and overwhelming as of late. I love Santa Fortuna and Mumbai, but they're exhausting for me to play through because they're so huge and have 3 targets. Compare that to A New Life which offers tons of replayability despite being one of the smallest levels in the entire series.
Oops, looks like I missed the Hokkaido ET, would've gotten 3 if I didn't
I want a level that takes place in an office building with some crazy shit going on behind the scenes, with lots of stories you can go up and some floors under construction, that would be awesome.
i've always thought a mall might work in hitman, if constructed tightly
A new life would be one of the best maps in hitman if it wasnt for the clues component, it's a waste of time after the first few playthroughs.
I did that last ET like a fucking donut but still got away with a successful contract. Now I don't have to get any more SA's on ET's I just play them like a farce. I ended up killing pretty much the entire church staff because of a failure cascade, and then I bipped the target himself in a single second his bodyguard's head was turned. It was mental.
It's Another Life.
A New Life is the blood money mission
I miss the sedative syringe
it has no real use among everything else now. There's sedative poison but it's also pretty pointless. It just causes people to find the body and negate SA instantly.
I suppose the bottled kind could be used for the fumigation and vent setups? but in general emetic is the best because it causes your person to move away to a garbage can or toilet and since it doesn't instantly kill them, you can reset ETs if you use it on them.
I noticed the target crossing under the chandelier after he speaks to Father Francesco and worked around that:
Start at harbour with emetic syringe, close doors and choke morgue guy to steal his clothes, head to basement for priest outfit and evidence deletion, then back upstairs to where there's a church staff on the indoors balcony. Use the emetic syringe to get him out of the way and by the time the bodyguard enters and leaves, the target walks under the chandelier. Took me a few attempts but the final result was 3:26, silent assassin.
Chandelier was too risky for my tastes, I prefer methods that can't go wrong, I typically knock out targets before killing them for this reason incase of restarts
Surprised you can’t get like a really awkward to use weapon that launches needles
They should add a blow dart.
