I have a similar set up to you (my CPU is an i5 6600) and the game runs pretty well. It runs slightly worse than Hitman but it doesn't have the frame dips Hitman had when you suddenly turn to look at a large crowd. I'm running on mostly high settings too. I have checked the "Override Memory Safeguards" option in the launcher, the framerate improved slightly after I did that.
No, it's straight up confirmed that Leland Cayne wanted 47's DNA, since the albino clone series only lived like 29 months or something heinously short like that. They needed 47's DNA to perfect the ageing.
My favorite part in absolution is when 47 takes off his mask and snaps mutant Danny Trejo's neck in front of a crowd
There's an SA thread linked in Finale's video where they discuss Absolution in detail, and some of the shit is baffling.
The game was going to start in Hope (Skurky would be one of the first targets) and wind up about where it still did. 47 was going to be a scarred homeless alcoholic. A roadkill-based chili sauce manufacturing plant level was planned. Oh, right, and Victoria was going to be tortured, raped and murdered sometime shortly after the beginning of the main events of the game, and the actual plot would be tracking down and killing people who hurt her, with gratuitous flashbacks. Basically, it would be
1. 47 goes to Diana's place, betrays Travis and shoots him (which is where the robot hand comes from) and Victoria is taken away by Skurky. Fridging occurs in a process that is unclear.
2. Hope missions. Skurky is the main target. Skurky is meant to be sympathetic because his wife took all his stuff in a divorce. An enormous amount of money was spent on realizing a "fat old country woman" character that was cut from the game.
3. Hope burns at the end. This is so important, we spent a huge amount of money on this. It's a metaphor.
4. Probably the Dexter labs missions, then Sanchez, then New York.
5. The exact order of NY is unclear- SE seems to have quashed most info about this part of the plot, and a lot of stuff got merged/cut. I'm guessing it was roughly Orphanage, Terminus, Strip club, Blackridge tower.
6. I think 47 was going to die at the end while taking down Travis.
Hitman Megathread
absolution had some 10+ writers too because the script was such a fucking clusterfuck on a very big scale. its amazing that absolution came out remotely coherent as it is.
also i think one of the writers for Absolution might have wanted to torch the Kane and Lynch IP after they fucked up Hitman, because even though they both get thrown in your face a lot, Kane's last appearance IIRC is him writing a farewell letter on death row as he's about to get sent to the electric chair. and there's no way to save him either. so i guess both Kane and the franchise are dead now.
Say what you want about Absolute Shitman, but that game had some real gems of detail. I remember starting a bar fight in the place you see Kane, so I fought and knocked out everybody in there. On a later level I overheard two guards arguing because one of their cousins claimed to have been in a bar when a bald guy walked in and won a fight against about fifty guys, which the other guard thought was impossible.
I thought it was probably to give it a proper sendoff given there's no way they were going to make another game, when you think about it both Dog Days and Absolution had the same problem where they tried to be a gritty and edgy cinematic experience but it lacked the subtlety and quality writing required to pull it off and it also came at the expense of gameplay
Kane and Lynch was always sort of a guilty pleasure for me but boy did they mess up so many things with that series
Is it possible to save your game locally. Steam or them are having issues and I can't even save. Pff...
who is this asshole? they added a new super-enforcer who knows who 47 is apparently in Paris at the sanguine bar.

I know
His name is Emmanuel Bourgeois. He's in the party area so I think he just knows who all is supposed to be there. He doesn't comment on knowing 47 if you're seen.
He's there to showcase the crowd blending mechanic for players who only have the Legacy pack, but honestly he's a crock of shit for being able to see through EVERY disguise, even Helmut.
final mission spoilers, easter egg

they're the cowboy and the guy getting his face changed to Helmut from Hokkaido in season 1
He's also meant to be a joking reference to Absolution -- he mentions his brother is "into asians" in Hokkaido and Dexter hit on Jade in Abs. Euugh..
Anyone else unable to play the legacy missions? I just crash to desktop once it starts loading.
That conversation plays no matter what happened in your run of the earlier level. There's no carryover of hidden flags between levels.
Is there anything 47 can't do? He can mix drinks, play various instruments, make food, drive/fly various vehicles.
Fuck, you've ruined it. Now I have no good memories of Hitman: Absolution.
At the beginning of Hitman 2016 it's said that he measures off the charts in his ICA skill tests. Although he'd had experience as an assassin before joining the agency I don't think he needs to practice much of anything, he's good at everything because he was made to be.
well uh
i remember the skybox in the hotel mission with the BDSM nuns was pretty nice

that's something i guess
why is there an extremely small spot in the militarized stronghold-section where i can sit/stand without trespassing? i had guards see me and they didnt do anything. but only if i kept to that very small corner seen here.

Has anybody had this bug where you go to clock someone and they flip upside down? That is to say, a civilian that has discovered you, you walk up to them and punch them in the face. I've had it happen like a split second before they correct themselves but in this instance the bug did not self-correct and I found that not only does he go upside down, he goes inside out.
Terrifying.

Honestly my feelings about Absolution leading up to release, even though I was much younger and had much less formed opinions on game design and games in general, were horrifically apathetic. I couldn't even begin to give a shit about the game, and I didn't play it until...
[ruffles steam achievements] 2015? I don't even know why. I adored the Hitman series and I've followed it since the earliest days. It's always been a mainstay in my gaming repertoire, but with Absolution's reveal material I just felt this kind of listless, jaded insensitivity to what I
was seeing.
When the game came out I didn't have the money or a system to play it, so I watched a full playthrough of it, day by day, as the creator put instalments up, and it was just kind of dry and uninteresting to me. To find out just how in-depth its awfulness runs really makes me aware of
that I wasn't just like, bored with the series, I was actively numbing myself, subconsciously, to not think about how shit the game was.
Then H2016 came out, almost without my knowledge, and...

youre not a real assassin if you didnt give the full house tour when you dress up as the real estate dude in vermont
Fuck I gotta do that now. I went straight to the basement cause obviously.
Holy shit is there a video of that anywhere?
the locked upstairs room was a hell of a trip

Ghost mode is fun but it's really stupid how the best tactic is to kill as many people as possible in the beginning and then you basically have an empty map.
