I don't get the character choice but the gimmick for it is solid. It's just what I wanted.
I noticed in the gameplay that they show you where exactly a character is past the blast zone. Is there a way to turn that off? I find that kinda annoying.
Are you talking about the onscreen map? In the 11/1 Direct they announced that you can turn it off (and use a smaller version of it, if the default is too large).
jfc this streamer finally gets to the K Rool challenger approaching moment, and he accidentally falls into the water and SD's in about 10 seconds. my god
That always seems to be the case, doesn't it? Someone gets a highly sought-after game way early and streams it, but also has no idea how to actually play said game. I guess that's the trade-off.
Just a heads up but Ninjas are out. Crunchii is losing his channel (fully deleted next week) among others for uploading music.
It's 100% expected but listen while you can.

Nintendo sent its ninjas
Not sure what they were expecting, uploading the entire soundtrack to a game that launches in two weeks. It was only a matter of time before Nintendo started doing this.
they do this shit even if the game were released for years, lol. definitely no surprise
So I specifically dug a little bit more when it comes to the time the game unlocks and it basically unlocks at exactly 12 AM based on the region your account is assigned to/you purchased the game.
For example being in Germany would mean the game unlocks at exactly 12 AM for me and I can do an all-nighter. For the US the game will unlock at 12 AM EST nationwide which means if yar in the west coat, you'll get it like 3 hours """earlier""" at 9PM, Dec 6th. This also means that Australians technically get the game the ""earliest".
At this point I've started to shave off the extra day in the wait time given on friday it unlocks instantly so it really is more like 10 days of wait left.
I feel like the omission of Zero-Two, Adeline, and Ribbon are also missing Spirits that are worth raising an eyebrow at. Big big fan favorite characters that are some reason completely missing as Spirits. Some people have gone to say this is because Sakurai has some kind of petty distaste towards them since he himself didn't work on Kirby 64, but that just feels... really out of character for him.
Not to mention the fact that, Shinichi Shimomura, the dude who direction Crystal Shards, also directed on Dream Land 2 and Dream Land 3, two games which introduced the characters Gooey, Rick, Kine, and Coo - all four characters being ones which appear as Spirits. It just doesn't add up to imagine he'd include those 4, characters he didn't create, but omit 3 fan-favorite characters. Two of which appear together in the latest Kirby game!
clearly this means that while rayman is out Globox still has a chance and it totally isnt simply an oversight of a few developers which are managing 1300 pngs
Travis Touchdown not being a spirit gets my hopes up for him potentially being DLC, especially since he has a new game coming out soon
don't get your hopes up
Barack Obama doesn't have a spirit guys.... he's in...
No surprised there. Thankfully I manage to find a full download of the soundtrack, noticed some things like they added the Player Select theme from Street Fighter 2, both CPS-1 and CPS-2, so I'm curious if you can change the music for the menu.
Thats a fair point, however I think I'd still argue its pretty stupid to assume that a png prevents people from being in the game later.
Alright, I'm disappointed in the Metroid music selection: No Dark Samus battle theme from Echoes nor Corruption.
Something something Lucas and Mewtwo have trophies in 4 and look what happened.
If Sakurai and the team wanted to add a character no way in hell are they going to look at a spirit and go "damn, nothing we can do about this. Man what a total blunder."
They'd just use the smash render as the fighter spirit and that's that.
Also the mantra of "Assist Trophy=Never going to be a fighter" is likely to be proven wrong dependent on how long Ultimate goes for. They'll make a fighter if there's a well of money to reap from it.
Not to forget that I probably wouldnt be surprised if we get some Spirits as a day-one patch as some dataminers have mentioned home run contest will probably be in a day 1 patch
I don't see why characters having more than one spirit if they make it as DLC can't be a thing.
It's not like their spirits would look the same, since the fighter one would be an un-equip-able new Smash redesign anyway.
I do find it odd that day 1 patch is adding Home Run Contest if it's true. I wonder why they couldn't put it on the base game on time.
Currently this is a link of a link, and I haven't pinned down the stream it actually came from but Camilla has shown up, and her portrait was supposedly edited. I guess Tharja uses her portrait as well, but it's unedited because of the book that covers up her cleavage.
gotta get rid of that tit window, thigh window is ok tho
Noticed something on the music (spoilers): Aside from being it's own category Monster Hunter has 2 songs: Rathalos Theme and the Main Theme. I assume it's for a spirit if MH has one, but it is interesting if those datamine of Monster Hunter being cut is true.
With how stuffed to the gills Smash Ultimate is in terms of content (especially starting development so soon after Smash 4 DLC ended, while Nintendo presumably wanted the game out by sometime in Switch's Year 2 in particular), they probably just didn't have the time to finish the mode by the time they wanted to print retail copies of the game, and opted instead to save it as day 1 patch content.
Again, no link, some streamer has 17 hours logged in Spirits and has only completed a third of it.
Just for clarification dataminers didnt find anything hinting at new modes for those that might be getting excited. Day 1 patch stuff came from this angry post that popped up a few days after Isabelle got revealed
