I'm gonna admit to be the one person who was kinda glad that Shadow was a assist, so that maybe we could get a Puyo Puyo character in the game, or literally another SEGA rep that wasn't Sonic
There's only 20 million Switches in existence, it's exclusive to one console and there are multiple Nintendo games that have sold over 30 million.
It's not looking like a good prospect unless a Wii-tier explosion happens.
Brawl had an attach rate of one out of every eight Wiis sold and that still only netted it a little shy of 13 million, the most any Smash Bros game has sold, and SSB4Wii U only had an attach rate slightly above one out of every three.
Let's assume one-out-of-every-three is a best-case scenario (which seems steep, anyway, since the Switch isn't just a Nintendo game box like it's predecessors and has actual third-party support), you'd need a minimum of around 40 million Switches sold to beat Brawl's numbers, which are again less than 13 million. To hit the top 30 in non-digital software sales without including PC, it'd need to hit 15 million. To enter Nintendo's top 10 alone, it'd need to hit over 24 million copies sold, a feat Pokemon only achieved in Gen 1 with the combined sales of Red, Green and Blue.
It will absolutely be one of the most content-filled games of all-time, but it'd need to be a craze to attract the kind of numbers you're implying, unfortunately.

They're black, the latest game (Happy Home Designer) and the AC app both introduced skin colors

i lsaw a reddit thread where someone was like "they made the purple villager black." and someone was like "is this a reference to the tanned villagers from the island?" and then the next reply was "i think its a reference to black people."

It's not out of the way to see this become the #1 title on Switch. After all, Melee was the #1 game on GameCube.
a friend of mine got it on his switch and tested it last night, and amiibo don't unlock fighters as far as he was able to test with a roy amiibo.
Man, it must be going on lockdown mode at Nintendo due to this leak
