My man, ROB is legit one of my favorite characters for what he is and how he plays.
I love everything about his playstyle. His gyro is the diddy banana done right. He gains so many options just from having it. His smashes are all super satisfying. His nair is one of the most satisfying moves in the game. His throws are so consistent and getting combos off of them are the best.
Play 'em all until I find the one that satisfies my love of jank. Samus in Melee and PM and Ganon in PM are my dream characters for fighting games. Both have an incredibly weird toolkit filled with movement options and outta-nowhere shit that is just so enjoyable. G&W was great in Brawl for Bucket-Braking, and while he wasn't my main, Pac-Man has such a cool set of moves for blindsiding your opponent that made him a joy to play. I settled on Kirby/Jiggs for Sm4sh as Kirby is my boi, can fuck about at ledge with FSmash and benefitted with people picking T&C in the meta., and I got dunked on by Icemaz with Jiggs and was inspired ever since.
I nearly always play Random since I tend to be a generalist. Going through single player makes me have to know every character, and I find it less stressful when playing because if I lose, I can blame it on the character. I like to play basically every character (except Ryu, Diddy and Bayonetta) but I find I do better with certain characters. Olimar, Luigi, Captain Falcon, Marth, Toon Link and Meta-Knight I do best with, but my favorite characters are Villager, Shulk, Robin, Wario and Game & Watch which I do poorly with. Tiers probably have something to do with it but I don't bother looking. All I know is that Diddy and Bayo are top tiers but I hate playing as them and suck at them.
Sadly no, but I might bother some friends to try to lend me the game :P

I believe it grows based on likeness for a character but its stablished based on gameplay. I was hooked as hell about playing as Sonic to the point I seriusly considered buying a Wii. Same happened about Megaman and Now with Ritcher. eventually I ended playing with peach, of all characters.
Just to get a decent idea: [AGREE] if you prepurchased the game digitally and its currently sitting on your switch mocking you [DISAGREE] if you prepurchased the game via some store/amazon and have it be sent to you/have it be ready for pickup on gamestop or whatever [FUNNY] if you are lookin' to simply pick a copy up on release date from some store [WINNER] if you are going hunting in some niche/not so niche stores 3-4 days before release hoping that Bob from Bob's gamestore is selling the game early
I'm considering calling up my nearby Walmart to see if they are doing pre-orders for Ultimate because A. I'd love to be able to just pick it up at the store instead of worrying about shipping and B. I live in bumfuck-nowheresville where only the one friend and I play smash, and I'd be genuinely surprised if anybody except us two are even going to get the game. Still debating though, since it's ten dollars cheaper thanks to the Amazon prime thing.
Rated diamond bc I pre-ordered on a discount but realized I'd much rather have it on digital so I'm going to sell the physical copy to my friend and then buy digitally but can't because I ain't getting my hands on my Switch until Christmas
where is "i aint buying that gay shit" at
None of the above for me, I'll be playing it on my brother's Switch until I can afford my own.
i have a copy reserved on the local videogame store chain but havent payed it yet cuz i want to see if some small game store sells the game early I got odyssey a day before release so i know it is worth to check
Why are you in this thread if you have no interest in Ultimate?
I have quite a lot of interest in Ultimate, what makes you think otherwise? Just because I'm not buying it doesn't mean I'm not playing it, pouring over the details of the game and am excitily awaitng its release.
Okay but if you genuinely think it's a good idea and necessary to come into a thread and say "i for one ain't buying THIS lmao" (with a homophobic joke to boot, come on, dude), then just stop posting. You contributed genuinely nothing and no one likes it.
It's more about presentation my man. If you came in and just said "I'm probably gonna pass" or something it would of gone over better.
Smash Ultimate always seemed like a game you'd want physically because it would feel more satisfying but I'm already annoyed to the point where waiting just a bit over a week is torture knowing people already have it, risking it not arriving on release date and having to wait even longer while everyone is going mental and basically being squidward in that spongebob meme where he looks out the window is too much of a potential killer
Is saying I'm not buying it isn't worthy of posting, or is your issue entirely with the phrasing?
I got physical down but wound up switching to digital personally. *I don't care for the boxart *It's smash so I don't see myself having the urge to ever really sell it *It's a game I'll want to swap to often so I figured I'd just DL it instead of fussing with the cart in the future whenever I got the urge to play. I'm usually a physical copy guy but eh, that's my reasoning.
Sorry fam, different folks different jokes. This is sincere.
I'm not sure if you were expecting to come in here saying that and not get in a pissing match. It's kinda trolling just saying "I'm not buying it >:(" with no reason.
My post didn't really have room for interpretation. No, it was not worthy of posting and yes your phrasing was trash too.
No biggy.
In smash? Damn. Maybe Tupac then?
I have Smash reserved at GameStop, but I have to do a presentation at 10 on 12/7 so I can neither attend the midnight release nor play the game until the afternoon. It could be worse, of course. Might see if I can swing by the store and grab the game before the presentation just so I can have it on hand. (Heck, at that rate I could possibly even play it a bit before the presentation begins...)
I'm under NDA, sorry.
Who here is interested in the competitive side of Smush? The Backroom stagelist should be coming out soon and from what I've heard it is using a crazy large pool of stages, both with and without hazards.
I'm excited to see how varied the viable stagelist will be. There are so many good stages, and hazards off as an option is a blessing. I loved playing Sm4sh competitively but I got sick of seeing pretty much only Smashville/T&C, I thought Lylat was a much more interesting and fun comp stage to play on.
I got digital so that I can apply the 600 gold coins to the fighter's pass.
