I'll be interested early on because no one will know the new matchups but lose interest as it stagnates, especially if it's like Smash 4.
Altho, one thing I'd love to see is the implementation of Stage Morph in some way. Tho, seeing how picky the comp scene is, I doubt they'll spend too much time of that to ever push further then gimmicky tourneys.
At the very least, change the stage so we don't have the same fuckin background all the time! Now that Battlefield and Omega are standardized!
Town and City is fucking boring to look at now.
Pokemon Stadium Hazardless is looking to be the Smashville of Ultimate. Probably a Starter where a assload of characters will excel now everyone is looking to have real kill options.
"i ain't playin that gay shit"

Now do the Melee/Brawl classic of that except with everybody metal and percentages turned off
Gonna be pissed if Fountain is actually banned after finally coming back after all these years.
FIGHTING ICECLIMBER TEAM
Good to go.

Tried not putting everyone on the list.
List from "Will play the most to a little less"

Reflections are disabled in 8 player matches for obvious reasons.
Alpha you're the first person I've ever seen choose green kirby
Very brave
Still a missed opportunity to not make young link a rep from majora's mask instead of just "We made BoTW link so we need someone to have old link's moveset."
I was thinking on the short comings of why Custom Equipment didn't work in Smash 4 from a multiplayer/User Experience perspective, and upon thinking on it, it makes me appreciate the concept of Spirits that much more.
Like, you no longer have a list of several generic shield/sword/etc icons with generic -X, +Y stats like in Smash 4. Now, not only do Spirits have recognizable characters attached to the stat changes, but they also have their stats/support items/etc tweaked to something that is relevant to the character and source material.
It's easier to find a Spirit character that is known for holding a baseball bat (that will presumably give you one too), as opposed to scrolling through a long list of generic equipment in Smash 4. Because of this, I think it will be easier for casual players to set up Spirit matches in Ultimate as opposed to customizing a character with equipment in Smash 4.
The bad green Kirby, at that - orange feet green kirby. At least melee players have fully green kirby
I really don't know why they didn't, at the very least, make his final smash be turning into Fierce Deity Link for the slashing attack. Alternatively, they should have given him the Fierce Deity palette instead of normal Link, since it fits him WAY more than Breath of the Wild Link. Even as a non-LOZ guy I definitely can see why OoT/MM Zelda fans would feel super disappointed by Young Link in this game.
Eh, kinda true (aside from the single player focus in Brawl vs multiplayer focus in Ultimate), but I also like what they did with Event matches as well.
Even though the event matches aren't relevant to multiplayer in Ultimate, I think the concept as a whole makes it more innovative than stickers.
Great bae best stage is back
THinking on the charactes, ike will be the only character I need. He's the only one with a two handed sword, and doesn't do anything special, he just hits things. Plus, you can still spee dup dying.
Ganondorf will also get a chance, I just hope he still has Wizard foot.
I got to thinking about Spirits. What if Veregeben's "source" thought the Curbivore pig was the Minecraft pig?
I would go digital but buying digital from Nintendo seems risky plus I mange to get one of the deluxe set.
i pre-ordered ultimate for 47.99 cuz of amazon's old new game policies and im not letting that opportunity slip by
finally someone shows it off

It's not like it's a new feature, squad battles are fairly common. It's just something Nintendo took forever in officially adding.
My dad actually manged to get the game for me,
The bad news is that he accidentally bought it digitally, so there any chance on playing this when I leave for collage :T
Current Backroom draft has FoD WITH Hazards as Counterpick. Its good shit.
If anyone considers character unlock statistic to be spoilers, then consider this your spoiler warning I guess; someone on Twitter found a way to get fairly quick character unlocks (based on what the normal parameters are).

Hmm, I'm conflicted. On the one hand, I want to be able to use all of the characters while my friend is over. On the other hand, I don't want to speed through the unlocks and fail to spend quality time with the characters available. Decisions, decisions.
so why would one want to do this if it isnt for a tournament setup?
To have every character unlocked.
let me rephrase then
Id like to know the reasons why people want to unlock characters the fastest way possible instead of unlocking them linearly, the latter seems a lot more fun - like, why would you decrease the amount of ""content" in the game?
