I heard Sakurai wanted to add him in Brawl and Smash 4 but couldn't get his disjointed parts to work how he wanted them to. Sukapon got a small fan following around Brawl and still shows up in polls, just usually around top 25.

Someone uploaded all the smash colors imgame recently. As good as the renders are I'm glad we have this to see what they'll actually look like
tbh this is probably the worst possible timing they could have made such an announcement. If they had a new build ready it might be another thing, but this just reads to me like "Hey guys our scene is dead and we think Smash Ultimate will be the final nail, please don't forget we exist! Look, updates! Remember those?"
To be fair, a game that (I think) a few of the PM members started a while ago, Icons: Combat Arena, flopped hard and just recently announced that it would cease development. It's also not like they just gave up and went into hiding for no reason, a potential lawsuit from Nintendo would basically ruin the lives of everybody involved in the project. Though I definitely agree, this was a VERY bad time period to announce such a thing. If it had come out earlier this year that soon a Project M "Revival" was going on, around after Ultimate was announced and everybody was getting rid of their Wii U in anticipation, then it would've been perfect, a game to hold the dedicated Smash players over for the ~7 months long wait. But Ultimate is gonna be in the general populace's hands in a little over 2 week's time, and christmas break is right around the corner. NOBODY, and I mean, NOBODY, is going to want to play a PM-esque game for a good long while.

I want to know spoilers. I want to know how to unlock characters, I want to know how each Classic mode goes, I want to know how Adventure goes, and I want to know guidances. I will enjoy knowing them ASAP, and I will enjoy the game in 15 days as well.
However, I understand that's not the case for everybody. So I gotta learn how to spoiler tag text once and for all.
There's still some boss fights we haven't seen, and there'll probably be a big ending cutscene. Besides, apparently there's a reason why Kirby was chosen and we'll find out at the end of the campaign.
