So MatPat seems to have finished his Deltarune series- I've been watching them out of morbid curiosity, and I think he is WAY off for the majority of the videos- I personally would not recommend anyone watch them. Despite this, there is one theory from those videos that I think makes a good point- Susie eats chalk not to look cool, but because she's poor and can't afford food. Then, when she's in the Dark World, there's a ton of places where she's able to eat real food (well, as real as anything else in the dark world). Makes me wonder what they'll do for the next chapters, either bring this point up or have other characters also have their desires fulfilled in some way.

That theory was repeated by many random people from the first day the demo was out, additionally, Susie makes a comment how the dark world food still leaves you hungry.

It's funny how if you look at the channel without knowing it's jack black, he just seems like the average user.

I find it reasonable to believe Susie has been starving quite a while if her sources of nutrition are limited because of low funds, or from her parents (or caretakers) not feeding her enough. Of course, I believe the dark world only fulfills things in the mental stadium, not the physical or health-related parts, hence why Susie believes nothing she eats in the dark world reduces her hunger... either that, or something's wrong with her digestive system. Yes, foods restore HP, but don't necessarily reduce hunger. How can food created by your imagination fill your stomach if it's imaginary? If Deltarune had a Hardcore mode, Susie'd have a negative handicap from it.

If that's the case, then let's hope Kris invites her to Toriel's home and have some pie after dinner. I'm sure Toriel will understand why their has-been school bully became close friends. She deserves a happy ending for redeeming her character.

I like to think the reason why Susie ate a chalk; is because she's a rebel and a bully, that's it! She does it because why the fuck not! And all you need to know about her: is that she bullies other kids and tries to be cool at the same (which doesn't mix these two together of course) Just like Nelson from The Simpsons.

Maybe she's just a monster species that really fuckin loves chalk I reach a ton when theorizing about this game, but susie being a starving orphan or something because you caught her eating chalk is a huge reach.

I've updated the link to my translation for Deltarune into Swedish. Still, credits go out to andreyyshore for his efforts in helping out... I just hope he manages to take care of the DotumChe and Comic Sans MS fonts, as well…and then the demo is fully translatable.

At the same time, she was "caught" eating chalk- if this was a world where her species loved chalk, it probably wouldn't be considered an expellable offense like Susie implies. I also don't think Toby is above the "bully with a tragic backstory" trope, which I assume Susie will go down.

Been thinking about Ralsei's background, in that he's been waiting his whole life for Kris & Gang to arrive. What if the misdirect of Deltarune (because there WILL be one, other than playing with player agency) is that the 'Prince from the Dark' isn't Ralsei at all but rather someone else? Ralsei fashioned his entire life and location around the idea that he is the prince that will 'banish the angel's heaven', but like the game states, choices don't matter - he can't CHOOSE to be the supposed 'prince' because it was always supposed to be someone else.

Also in the legend it is said that the heroes are supposed to seal the fountains,does that mean that the one in the empty castle town is going to be closed too or is there supposed to be another for light? If there is one for the light it might not be a literal fountain but something that might make kris and susie not be able to ever return to the dark world and there will be a sad goodbye where they will never be able to see ralsei again.
