Do you guys use in game voice, or discord when playing on the FP Server?
Haven't used voice chat there yet, however I would really like to.
I haven't used voice chat yet.
Something else, in A16 there were HUGE skyscrapers that took hours to clear. Are those also in the current gen map?
They might be disabled because they were buggy, although afaik it's rather simple to re-enable them. Unless they were enabled in one of the patches along the way, I vaguely remember something like that.
Spend a lot of time in them in A16, didn't encounter any bugs with it. Perhaps with world gen
They're back.
Really? Have you spotted them yet?
Yeah, but you can also try the world previewer and look at the patch notes of one of the experimentals, and look into the xml to see that is the case.
Just not all worlds have them currently, keep generating and previewing until you get skyscrapers, if you want them.
The highrise were made rare since they're big performance hits, and only generate in large wasteland towns and cities according to the files. Wasteland is rare to have full towns. There's no easy way to make them spawn elsewhere without causing potential issues like there being a ton of them. I tried to mod the RWG to spawn more of them, but when I tested, there was 5 in one town, and all I did was change their spawn group to the one shared by gun/food/hardware stores.
I started a new world gen map and somehow spawned in a spot with no water for miles.
Server just crashed.
There was a new update yesterday
News | 7 Days to Die | The Survival Horde Crafting Game
Make sure to opt into experimental for it.
Latest experimental is up on the server
Is progress and map reset?
No need to reset map, so I hope he didn't. You might need to kys yourself though, the food and water levels will be messed up until you do that.
Map resets only need to happen if they modify core player stats or change RWG, otherwise it can be the same. They don't typically make major RWG changes in the middle of stable releases.
They plan to improve RWG a lot in 17.2.

A17.2 Experimental is out! Just like A17.1, it got a bunch of nice balancing and optimization goodies. Also, it seems RWG is pretty different now (Remember it's Experimental if it sucks, however!).
The art team is already working on A18.

TFP's been saying that they're overhauling the RWG to be the best as it will ever be, and it will be in A17. They're finally working with an artist on RWG.
Also, the temporary buff magazines are going to be replaced as they were mostly filler, and there will be over 100 permanent perk books, which will be also give set bonuses.
props to TFP for trying things out and actually making use of the games' Early Access status tbh
Finally got around to A17, wow, the dog packs are some serious bullshit
They're reworking RWG hard. And, they mentioned that A18 should polish the A17 changes, just like A18, which they mentioned will come out in the first half of this year, also 17.3 might ship RWG hard. They're also adding the perk books I have mentioned.
It's true A17 has issues because of being such a huge change, that's why I'm waiting for A18 or A17.3 with new RWG to play the game.
Yeah, they have a lot to improve on. That being said, they also added a lot cool new shit and addressed some really old issues. It's not all bad by any means.
I really hope they do away with the playerlevel gatekeeping though. It's like they realized their progression is wack so they duct tape fixed the level gate onto it to make players spend skillpoints on basic stuff like stamina first. They need to rethink it, to be honest.
They are removing level gates and improving the perk system.
I like how under the new system, it's actually useful to repair stuff since it doesn't lower its level anymore. Before it was useless 90% of the time since it was easier to just craft a new one for marginally more resources and no stat loss. This has a double benefit as now finding a nice item like a steel pickaxe is worth much more, as before you'd never use it because it seemed to precious to use and repair. To add to this, I love how they streamlined the weapon/tool efficiency, and how the level now only corresponds to the durability, I think that is a very nice change and balances this part of the game a lot, and makes it less of a clusterfuck.
Also I don't know what they did with the combat system other than adding the strong attack, but it worked. It really is much more pleasant now.
