Hopefully they care about it you mean.
So how's the online? I played it for maybe two hours, realized everything is very expensive, and decided to wait for more updates. Is it just a hunting simulator or what?
Only if you want to do that for fun and not just for the money, now.
Apparently they fixed the bug where you couldn't sell Egret plumes to the butcher. I had like 10 of each type just sitting in my inventory and got like 80 bucks when I sold them all.
really do care about the community past their wallets Yeah you've got a point there. Obviously the drip feed and rampant microtransaction systems in place is the only thing they learnt from GTA:O. Still understandable that RDR:O has lost a lot of active users, and even monthly earnings. What I don't understand is how they've decided to just ramp up microtransactions instead of adding more things into RDR:O for players to come back to and do. Adding more things to buy for cash just looks like it'll turn people away (as they'll try and squeeze the remaining players until they pay) instead of bring them back.
Yeah it's pretty terrible how they treat the players that are sticking with them and their obvious lack of interest with getting others back, because so far I've yet to see anything that makes me want to boot up my Xbox and hop on Red Dead Online. Initially I was doing that each day to play the game until I realised it's just the same shit over and over again, GTA: Online is like this but that game has the advantage of having enough content to not get boring, if I so choose, but right now this game is seriously lacking content, unless you know, you like to play PvP in the same generic modes that every multiplayer game in existence has, except it's more obnoxious in Red Dead because it's just a cover shooter essentially, even Gears felt better than this because it had tight movement, the only tightness you get in Red Dead is the fucking hand of Rockstar as you realise the cost of items and the ever encroaching microtransactions to, "alleviate" the grind.
RDO was fun for a week and then you realize what you're doing is just the same over and over again, not to mention how terrible RDO feels performance wise.
Rockstar just posted this on their YouTube channel lol, I wonder if it's just an "FU" to the shit they're getting from the online stuff https://youtu.be/mtkg2VWy8Js
Yeah but these are things for the story mode, not online, if online had have been in since the start it'd wouldn't have got as good a reception, possibly. Whether they knew the online was going to be a grind fest or not, it still seems dodgy that they release it way later once all the reviews and awards have been handed out so they can't take them back.
Well, to be fair the SP portion does deserve the awards. It's been a long time since I genuinely felt emotional over a story character. It's one of those games which throws the "but players don't want SP experiences!" back into the gaming exec's faces while they figure out more ways to squeeze money out of players. The Online portion however feels tacked on, and while it has potential - it isn't showing much of it at the moment (even if it is a "beta").
Singleplayer is Arthur, Online is Micah, one of these is a rat, and everyone knows who the fuck it is except Dutch who is wilfully ignorant (Rockstar)
Yeah, just ignore some of the more linear parts of the story and you'll be fine, it's when you notice certain things that Rockstar's game design stands out negatively, go to this specific spot and such, story wise though it's pretty great and like yourself, I felt genuinely emotional over a character.
I just think this update was pointless, they added basically nothing for the PvE players like new story missions or literally anything, and for pvp players free roam is pointless unless you want to shoot some poor innocent level 3 in saint denis or try joining a showdown and giving up because of how many connection issues there are. Tried playing with friends yesterday and we just had too many issues trying to login that we just gave up
John's beard is broken. Only the goatee will grow for me after a lot of sleeps and hair tonics, his tash and sideburns stay completely clean shaven. Anybody else had this problem? I tried picking a different beard style and going full clean shaven from scratch again but it continues.
Every game needs an antagonize button
There's a new money glitch for Red Dead Online. I think this is the first actual money glitch that isn't just clickbait. I'm at about $2000 after an hour of doing it. I recommend that everyone takes advantage of it as a "fuck you" to Rockstar for this update. https://youtu.be/Z5io48wWwQ8 you have to also do the passive mode glitch for this to work https://youtu.be/kdymtUfrvG4
Yeah no thanks, not only do I have to do this kind of thing to go around how shit Rockstar are being with us, but it's always some fucking finnicky thing that still takes ages, doing something tedious aswell, we shouldn't have to do this at all, even as a supposed fuck you to Rockstar, my fuck you to them is just not bothering to play their game or spend money on their Microtransactions, I'll play it when they give a shit about the players, which I doubt will be anytime soon, or ever.
They removed the glitch to get to New Austin in Chapter 4. Now I have to uninstall the game again, to go and get some things I missed. At least I can grow my beard to max again & use the horse spawn glitch.

"Wait up!" Sounds about right.
So how is red dead online? I got RDR2 on release date and said to myself I won’t play online until I am finished with single player. well I’m on chapter 5 as of now. (Yes I’m really taking my time to enjoy everything possible!) i always see see loads of updates about RDO posted on rockstars social media’s. And I understand there are a few game modes like battle royal. so I am just wondering, should I be excited to start online when I finally finish with single player. also, I have no friends so will it be fun to play on my own
I'm in a similar boat, no friends to play online with. I ended up playing it for a few days before getting bored with it. I'm not a huge fan of playing simple deathmatch or BR modes in modern games, though.
It's fun to make your own character but aside from some comparitivly short story missions its a lot of repetitive actions.
In its current state, I wouldn't recommend Red Dead Online. Prices are insane, and the grind for money is very slow. Just this morning though, Rockstar posted some info about new content coming in Spring, so there's that to look forward to There's some good stuff in there. Red Dead Online Beta Seems like they're really going hard with the anti-griefing stuff this time around, which is much appreciated after GTA's toxic online experience.
Can someone confirm if this is indeed real? Warning: Story Spoilers in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sB28K_ljqtM
If it's true, it's nothing new. They did the same in GTA 5 when they started tweaking texture quality back on the PS3/360 (then PS4/XBone). They also toned down the quality of the environment (amount of grass etc) for some reason as well.
Looks like AO was downgraded. I can't test this on my X because I own the digital copy.
Eh, doesn't seem to be too major. I had to squint to really notice anything.
I don't know why they've made this change, what was wrong with the game beforehand? It's not like the performance was shit.
