I can't seem to access either of the new mission givers, walk up to the doors and i just can't enter no matter what, restarting doesn't even help.
Rockstar: We just need more money guys
Releasing on the PC is the best way to get money into the bank.
I know I'd rebuy it, primarily for modding SP (and I'm not a fan of the PS4, and prefer the PC for gaming so haven't played RDO at all until the last major update a week ago).
No, Microtransactions to avoid a grind is the best way for them to get money.
I'm hoping that those "roles" they're adding during the summer will be Red Dead's equivalent of businesses in GTA, and we can finally earn some good money.
To be honest compared to GTAO - they've been pretty tame with the Microtransactions in RDO. A handful of things cost gold and gold is only really ever used if you want to buy something early.
Even though I used the dupe glitch, I only bought a handful of things and I've already got ~$550 in the bank from doing free roam missions and treasure maps and nothing to spend it on. None of the clothes for my level (22 now) appeal to me so I'm just holding onto it. Same with the gold bars. I've got 48 bars from promotions and treasure maps and nothing to spend it on.
In Red Dead no matter how fast or slow your horse is, it still looks like a horse. My characters outfit probably isn't going to change much even as new things come out because those new things will be
high-roller styled, not rough and dirty like my character is supposed to look. Unless they add a meta-game there really isn't going to be a imperative to even play the game to get money. Guns will kill regardless of stats, the character can survive regardless of equipment and the difference between a fast and slow horse is seconds, not minutes.
I would like them to move away from the roving camp concept because it ultimately makes little sense, even when you posse up you aren't doing so to spend time at a camp. And because they are
always at set locations, cooking food and items means finding random pits to use or trekking back to home base.
I mean, you could pretty much say the same thing for GTA Online, but that didn't stop people from spending loads of money on that.
I said that as in, that's the best way for them to make money, game purchase is one thing but Microtransactions like Shark Cards, avoiding any sort of grind besides levelling, that's how you make the most money.
GTAO has different types of vehicles that act differently and are mostly useful and fun for different scenarios or playstyle. A horse is only one type of vehicle.
GTAOs world is also arguably a lot more interesting and alive than RDO.
They still could expand the setting of the world, during the years we have access to...
-The Philippine–American War (a good way to mixup the scenery, new land to access)
-A huge hurricane hits texas killing thousands (new austin, mission related or otherwise a special event)
-Automobiles become more prevalent (They would be extremely expensive at this time, endgame?)
-Hawaii becomes a US territory (Another setting borrowing the cuba aesthetic)
-A riot occurs in New Orleans over the death of a police officer lasting a week (maybe a bit much/ Lemoyne)
I wonder what a Rockstar game set around the times of World War I or II would be like.

Man, I've been trying to access these new Black Belle missions since yesterday, and I still can't. Most of the time the doors to her house are locked, and on the rare chance that I do get in there, I get locked inside and have to find a new session. They claim to have fixed these bugs with free roam missions with the update, but that's a load of shit. In fact, it's even WORSE than it was during the beta phase.
For some reason some of the first missions you do for strangers, the ones with proper cutscenes, they don't work depending on how many people in your posse.
Like for the Strangers at Aberdeen Pig Farm, it refused to work with someone else in the posse, the second I left the posse it let me start it, and my friend start it in his own posse.
With Black Belle it only let me start it when I was in a posse with my friend, not solo.
Guys... just completed chapter 6...
HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK
IM ON THE EPILOGUE BUT THERES LIKE 20% OF STORY LEFT...
FUCK I CANT KEEP STILL
Red dead online feels more like a game now, enjoyed it quite a bit. Though I still get the feeling once I'm done screwing around there will be fuck all to do.
I feel like there's JUST enough variation now with the free roam missions and random encounters that I'm able to keep playing for a while without getting bored. Also, now that they added defensive mode, meeting other players is fun. The other day, I saw a player run into Braithwaite Manor, and I ran in after him. He went up the stairs, and hid in one of the bedrooms. A lawman ran up the stairs with his gun out looking for that guy, and was searching the rooms. I walked up behind him and blew his head off with my sawed off. The guy in the bedroom walked out, and gave me a thumbs up. We then proceeded to fight off a bunch of cops in the house, and I added him to my friends list. I love shit like that.
I was ambushed by a pack of wolves and my horse threw me off. I wasn't doing too good but this random player came to the rescue and killed them all for me, it was pretty cool. I might upload the clip later.
If I unlock enough horses can I then just go out there and just break one to keep? I mean for the online.
You can't break horses online. You can only buy them from a stable.
Let's face it, if you could break horses, they'd all be the worse degree possible anyway.
I wish I could atleast sell the nice horses I find. Or atleast being able to keep one if I have it unlocked, since decent horses are like very rare spawns.
Apparently in the fishing contest free roam event. You can boost your score by catching the same fish over and over. I found a muskie in shallow water and just kept throwing it back in after I caught it. I won by a longshot
Hey Partners,
can an one of Yall do me a favour?
basically, I have completed chapter 6
and I understand there are 4 endings in that chapter
i had high honour and helped John, so that was my ending. But I know you can have different endings to chapter 6 if you have low honour and if you get the money.
does anyone have a video that shows me these endings but doesn’t include spoilers from epilogue 1 and onwards.
i know red dead one had a secret ending so I don’t want anything spoiled, just want to know the 4 endings to chapter 6.
Maybe be I should just wait till the ending of the game but i am inpatient.
also that secret horse scene was cool, I had buell though:/
There's a secret ending to RDR 1?
Yes exactly that!
So I was playing online a bit, I was searching for a fishing spot near a river. I was in a sort of cliff so I tried to climb my way down. While I was doing that a pair of players
got real close. They really wanted to kill me, as I finish climbing down I hear a scream. One of the dudes just fell down, when I got near the river I heard a second scream and the guy died. Climbing in pitch dark nights is super dangerous.
TL;DR: Guys that tried to kill me fell down a cliff in the middle of the night.
Also does anyone think the weather system is a bit aggressive at times?, sometimes when its about to get dark it gets really dark or foggy as fuck. Once I even rammed into someone else when there was a dust storm going on.
Yeah, the fog can be pretty overwhelming sometimes. I ended up riding off a cliff at one point and it scared the shit out of me.
I kind of enjoy that. It's more realistic that way, far more than fog in any other game I've seen.
