it'd certainly be a new milestone
It wouldn’t be surprising though. I mean do you really expect them, with a week left in the year to pull something out that makes 2018 not a complete bust for tf2 besides the blue moon changes? It's statistically unlikely.
If that guy who talked to Valve isn't lying they're working on something and finally managed to stop leaking, and don't see the value in communicating they're working on something.
Friendly reminder that the winter 2017 cases are still dropping. Let that sink in for a moment.
I doubt you'll be pleased regardless of what they put out so I'm going to say no I don't expect that.
Well that’s kinda mean there eh? I actually liked a lot of the updates in this game’s history, and my years of playing it. The recent additions that ignore community feedback and do the opposite of requests are the things that I think anger a lot of people.
"you" was meant more as a general "you" than you in particular, but I guess nothing about my post would've indicated that. I think Valve is going to release another update that is the culmination of the work of a discrete amount of human beings over a set amount of time, and it will yet again fail to live up to the expectations of the community.
I mean, it seems like the community’s expectation is a list of fixes that address common problems, balance tweaks on commonly banned or otherwise problem weapons or map spots, and some general QoL improvements? Blue moon did that, wasn’t a huge thing or production, and if we got one of those every once in a while instead of like one big update a year and then literally zero dev communications for the rest of the year while bugs and cheaters run rampant, that would be cool? I don’t know how hard that would be vs making something like JI, but I imagine it would be better recieved.
I was playing 2fort as soldier and carrying the team, almost always being the one to get the intel out of the enemy base at least. For the third and final piece of intel, I decided that I would hold a dance party in the intel room and only cap it when the whole team was down there. 3 out of the 12 players joined me, the rest hated me and kicked me. Turns out you don't get XP points anymore in casual if you're kicked, but it was still a fun time!
For you and a very small minority of the server. It sucked for the rest of it.
I mean I don't know why people would bitch about a thirty second attempt to get a dance party going if they're gonna try the same tactic over and over again for two hours because it's 2fort but if it's their prerogative then okay
I'll bet you 500 atoms that it's just going to be a run of the mill 2 cases and a small blog post update.
I agree to a certain extent. Did you ever play any of the custom maps for fortwars that took place in actual environments (with lesser time to build, less resources and where different materials had special effects) or just the version of fort war that was a big box with dev textures?
Valve just released an Artifact update and are reportedly working on a Skill-based progression system for next week. Considering their tendency to draw in manpower from other teams, and considering that they desperately need that progression system to not hemorrhage more players, I think we can forget about any substantial updates for TF2 before christmas.
A majority of the matches were in Slag's servers, where the only maps were the few big box ones and variants (the big box with a giant divid in the middle of the map and a bridge to each side).
Again, this idea that valve diverts manpower from other projects like this isn't at all confirmed, particularly on this kind of small-scale, update-to-update basis. We don't really know what's going on inside valve, but if the whole "barons" thing disgruntled employees were talking about is true, it really doesn't sound like the kind of thing that's relevant here. I mean, it's supposed to be more subtle than that. Performance reviews that punish people for not working on the preferred project, not actual literal managers telling employees "work on artifact's progression system right now, we need to ship before the 23rd". I think the idea that valve's nobility would scoop up people who have been working on TF2 for years to suddenly switch to a game they've never worked on one week before they launch that update is pretty silly. The Artifact devs would be wasting that much time teaching those new devs about how artifact works under the hood. If those TF team members weren't already working on Artifact, I find it pretty absurd to think they'd suddenly be compelled to switch over in the middle of crunch time.
im bookmaring this you fool lost 2 billion jermabucks
I used to like vsh back when there was only 3 Hales. Then they added all these new Hales with these dumb abilities which resulted in a fun gamemode turning into an irritating shitfest.
The fondest memory of VSH that I have is whenever you taunted as Hale (or another Boss with a stunt ability) and killed those Dead Ringer Spies or Engineers they would write "rage hale" or try to shit talking you.
They still call you out on solo raging atleast on panda's servers.
Kinda reminds me about one of that one spy that always tries to goes for trickstabs and get slapped in the face by the hale right after they miss
the only thing that genuinely needs to be adressed is the heavy as a class tho.
um no just about literally every unlock has some stupid quirk to it (or lack of) that needs change. Except maybe the few rare good ones like kritz or gunboats or flare. and of course all the bugs and problems that came with 11 years of spaghetti
No, Valve has to wait until the very last possible moment to disappoint us.
Don't forget the good old ironic joke that goes like that: "Hahaha, we missed the usual date for this update!" "We know about it! That's funny!" "Now laugh at our lack of professionalism." I deeply hate the self-aware joke of the blogpost when something isn't delivered on time. I won't even laugh at the blogpost for the 8th comic. It won't even have any apologies, just joke about how long it took for them to do it as if we would agree and laugh with them.
That’s funny way of spelling sniper.
we should just start pasting screenshots of our past posts in the sniper debates rather than write brand new posts on them since it's the same thing every time
imagine if at the end of a mvm game, you could have access to deathcam screenshots taken by all the dead bots and you could select the ones you wanna keep before the server discards the rest imagine the thousands of good funny screenshots that would have brought to tf2
It is truly amazing how some people believe that the one class in the game who’s untouchable at his strongest range is the same one who also doesn’t deserve as many counters or counter-play elements as everyone else. Or even spy.
I don't even mind more counter-play being added to go against Sniper- in fact I'm still a little upset that a certain weapon that was really good for doing exactly that got nerfed to shit I'm just sick of the never-ending repetition of "sniper bad, give ratings" everyone has made their points for and against by now, yet you're insistent on constantly pushing the thread into the exact same discussion, over and over again.
