TF2 bots are much better than CS bots but they get stuck on corners and other stuff like that much more often CS bots on the other hand are pretty bad but very unpredictable, I got 360 noscoped across the map by CS bots too many times
Too early to put comp matchmaking on the dead children list considering the only major update we've gotten since the big Blue Moon comp revamp is Halloween.
I'd play comp matchmaking plenty if it wasn't literal hour long queues leading to being booted because somebody left before the round started. But that's what happens when you utterly botch the launch of a gamemode then don't give it basic functionality for literally two years.
Aye, while the majority of people aren't playing to improve or be that skilled, they're still going to try - but if their knowledge is based on what the game tells you (i.e. very little) then their baseline for "trying" is going to be pretty poor; whereas a proper tutorial would let people know about basic things like placing teleporters, airblasting, that explosive jumping exists and the like. You'll hit the cohort that cares enough to play the game more than once but not enough to actively look up how to get better, which I'd wager is a large amount of players given the still widespread view that TF2 is a completely non-competitive silly game. Not having a tutorial to explain basic things like those mentioned is like someone playing CoD without knowing killstreaks or perks exist; you can do it, you're just kinda missing out on what the game actually offers.
There's also the point that just because a youtube tutorial says something, doesn't mean it's actually good advice. Bad players can make video essays too.

I have a quick question--If I was to ask about a feature I'd like implemented in Hammer, who could I contact? The feature is for Halloween's Magic Spells pickups to use a team-only restriction that Medkits use. Is it plausible they'd add something that insignificant? Thank you and have a good day.
Anyone wanna play some Cactus Canyon? I finally found a server running it. IP is 77.95.36.158:27034
Bots getting stuck on corners doesn't really happen often when you have a properly tuned navmesh that gets rid of those rough patches that nav_generate tends to do sometimes. In fact, the funniest thing about the bots is how they can backtrack away from you and never run into a wall because they don't need to look where they're going to know what's around them
but bad players making bad tutorials will not be as popular than good ones. a quick "tf2 pyro tutorial" search on youtube brings this. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/132767/ea616cbb-61a6-4a79-8c6f-7df2e3e14a43/screenshot-www.youtube.com-2018.12.10-19-56-59.jpg while tf2 lacks a proper guide on some advanced stuff, it is true that anyone looking to improve will look outside the game where the community will always have far more detailed info.
While I definitely do agree, looking up how to guides on the internet has always been a thing in gaming. I do feel it's rather underutilized by... I dunno, what I would presume are just lazy individuals who dive right into games, get stumped then more often then not complain until either sucking it up and going online or quitting outright. At least, that's how it feels to me...

this unironically highlights how actually shitty overwatch's map design is
Thot that it was gonna be some shittty SFM video or something made by a poor man's Krunkidile. Was actually a fairly amusing look at an interesting custom mod/map. Also Lucio as the Engineer's dispenser killed me
And how shitty their class design is.
That "Widowmaker here" voice line sounded like it was voiced by a portly 12 year old Mexican boy trying to drop some panties.
Aaaaaand I just realized my favorite character is a playable dispenser. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/239377/a8efe4ff-d78f-40a2-a181-87b23898ef7a/austenmonstertrucksm.png I was kinda disappointed the Mcree-Spy did not high noon deadeye in some way. Could the spy's backstab potentially be reprogrammed to work somehow using sightlines?
meanwhile on the TF2 workshop frontpage: https://puu.sh/CfRlH/bde336d2eb.jpg I didn't want to feel left out
Most of the taunts seem to be waiting for the update.
update? you seem to be out of the loop.
https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/239377/89dc6a7b-4234-43a0-b890-072b64ae4d5f/Dusk.jpg Välve, may I have a lööping warpaint?
Only less than two weeks for the TF Team to redeem 2018.
Damn, it's really hard to believe there is already an year and two months since Jungle Inferno. The period waiting for Jungle Inferno felt like forever and much longer. I guess we're in the Valve Time now.

This time, we had Blue Moon and an actually-pretty-decent Halloween update during the same span of time.
Tf2 killed artifact
Is TF2 the New Artifact Killer?!?!??!?!!?!?!??!?!?!!??!?!!?!?!?!?!!?!??
artifact its the artifact killer. holy hell, there's more people playing CS 1.6 than L4D2
Left4Dead has to be the Valve franchise with the absolute most wasted potential. They came out with Left4Dead, then rushed out a sequel a year later, and then a year later they abandoned support for the game despite promising otherwise. They never even fucking recorded new voices lines for the patched in campaigns from the first game, for when the characters encounter the new Infected in Left4Dead2. Left4dead3, if done properly, could be absolutely massive, given how popular games like Payday 2 are. But it would take actual effort, which is why it was canceled along with Half-Life 3, Stars of Blood, the fantasy co-op game, and every other single damn game they've worked in the last 7 years other than Dota 2 and Artifact.
