It doesn't work very well for swimming but launching off a jump pad and getting an upside-down hunting rifle kill while zooming through the air makes the feature totally worth it imo.
Footage of NBlood. Nuke.YKT is as fast as greased lightning and already it looks like it's pretty much ready to be released:

This guy is unbelievable. Apparently he's only been working on it for a few months and already he's got something ready that looks like it'll blow BloodGDX and BloodEX out of the water completely.
I could be imagining this, but the colors look better on this than GDX right?
at the end of the day im just happy DUSK and AMID EVIL exist
i still need to play quake and blood but that's beside the point

with the newest gzdoom update, full blown 1:1 quake 1, 2, 4, and qc movement is now possible
courtesy of Ijon ijon/quakemovement
this is pretty much all i've ever wanted
the movement feels so goddamn great
Looks like Quake Champions Doom Edition just got justified
I want my 1:1 Quake remake (or ReQuake for short) in the Doom engine, just to prove that FPS development for the last 20-odd years has been a lie.
It's really good but the collision in Doom's engine makes it impossible to move blazing fast around the map. Also the head bob is a pain in the ass.
'movebob 0.01' in console
minimizes camera bobbing without completely disabling weapon sway
I was going through my old videos and found this from when Doom 4 first came out. 8 minutes long so maybe save it for when you have snacks and more time
https://youtu.be/eMwtoD216Cs
I was gonna do a series where I go through the whole game, but I don't seem to ever finish them and this series only went two videos in. Not sure if I still have the videos of my blind playthrough anymore
Replaying through Doom 2016 right now and man, I forgot how awful the crucible guardian bossfight is.
Who thought it would be a good idea to take a game with a "shoot it until it dies" approach to every other enemy in the game and throw in a boss that's impervious to damage most of the time and is basically a badly made bullet hell sequence ?
pretty much all of doom3 + expansion bosses need indirect means to kill them?
Okay ? That's not the Doom I'm talking about.
when you said the "approach" I figured you meant the entire series.
I finally beat The Ultimate Doom for the first time, all secrets, all enemies, Ultra Violent.
True classics are timeless. Going to finish "Thy Flesh Consumed" and will probably move on to Doom 2.
A couple of questions so far:
What is the recommended source port for Wolfenstein 3D/Spear of Destiny?
How does one go about installing the Master Levels for Doom 2 in gzDoom?
Given the choice between Brutal Doom and Project Brutality, what is recommended for a "fun" playthrough?
I know there is a lot of controversy around Brutal Doom, especially its creator. I did download it in the past and ended up enjoying the gameplay. Project Doom also looks compelling, but maybe might have its own issues (I did some research and found that it was a fork from Brutal Doom a few years back, they may be similar on the surface but it looks like there is a rivalry between the two groups, to say the least).
Thank you for your input and advice so far.
the only real wolfenstein experience is Super Noahs Ark 3D
Ultimately, what you want to do is up to you. I recommend fan-forks of Brutal Doom over the OG one. I used JDoom for awhile because I liked the stupid gorilla titlepic.
However, I would not recommend any of those for first runs or revisiting the game for a one-off. Brutal Doom (and it's flavors) tend to massively overbuff the hitscan enemies and throw the balance around in a weird way. It likely won't break normal Doom (though Plutonia's exhaustive use of chaingunners may beg to differ), but it absolutely can break some user made levels.
Both of them have immense earrape potential and pretty crap gameplay balance but if it absolutely had to be one of the two then Project Brutality is my answer. If it doesn't, then you should scour the ZDoom forum's gameplay mods section, BDLite recently came out also.
ECWolf.
The Master Levels all replace Map01 of Doom 2 by default standards. If you want to really play them back to back, you either go for the Playstation Total Conversion and particularly the Final Doom content (or the Consolation Prize version for compatibility with gameplay mods), or use WadSmoosh, get your wads together and combine them into one mega game.
Project Brutality has more options, weapons and so forth overall.
Just got Soul Calibur 6 a couple days ago, so I decided to make some characters from UT99 and also Galena from Quake Champions. I haven't worked on Malcolm yet, but I will get to that at some point.

Bonus: Here's a stripper version of the male Necris that I made for the hell of it.

I thought I was getting pretty good after managing to kill the Spider Mastermind on Ultra Violent with only 46% health, no armor, and good evasion techniques.
The first couple of levels in "Thy Flesh Consumed" have soundly dispelled that illusion.
Out of a dozen attempts, I have only managed to actually complete E4M1 on Ultra Violent once, with a single percentage point of health remaining. The shotgun zombies right at the start of E4M2 had a rather straightforward time throwing me a welcome party.
episode 4 is the real daikatana
UV 2ez without -fast
Happy New Years ya'll. Here's for lots of modding in 2019 https://github.com/JohnnyonFlame/DuskMod
Make sure to backup your saves before using. Included samples are:
-> No Infighting:
Disables infighting between monsters (without disabling the Crazed gems mechanic)
-> Stickies
Turns the mortars into sticky bombs that explode on trigger or when enemies are killed.
I don't trust Bethesda as a publisher anymore since the fiasco with the support tickets. I straight up do not trust them with my personal info and if Doom Eternal is a Bethesda launcher exclusive, I'm not going to buy it.
It's a shame because Bethesda is the publisher I respect the most out of the big names. They're out here putting out Dishonored and Prey and are the true torchbearers of the immersive sim, and those games didn't make much money and they knew they wouldn't make much money yet they did it anyway. They even let Mooncrash happen and that's the most exciting thing to happen to the genre in a decade.
But, like, I don't want my identity to be fucking stolen so I'm not gonna buy a Bethesda launcher game.
I understand the concern but I doubt their security is worse than half the services you've ever given personal details to
ultimately it's not as if you need to give them your name, dob, and social security number. just buy the game retail and use a unique password, and a false name if you must, for the bethesda account

Has anyone made a megaman inspired doom mod?
