God if they made some for Fallout and Quake you could make a DnD session unlike any other. I'd love miniatures of the Fallout 1 Male and Female protags.

Is there a chance to play Quake 1.5 on FTE? I saw Quakespasm will be supported eventually but FTE is the only source port that supports OpenAL Soft as far as I know
IIRC ( @BloodShot12 should chime in) it sort of works but some graphical features are busted and you need to futz with console commands
Well FTE flat out crashes a lot randomly sitting there with my current build, but I want to get it working since FTE supports what DP supports.
Also FTE is a better multiplayer client so it'd probably be worthwhile
IIRC the FTE author is more active in general too so that might also be worth it (since he can help you with engine bugs more than the darkplaces guy )

Has there ever been any mods for Quake 2 that add muzzle flashes? Ever since I first noticed that I can't unsee it

If I ever knew facepunch, this is when "quake 1.5 was never good to begin with" starts. fuck the naysayers tho
Honestly, it genuinely seems that way. The mapping scene's still going but the scripting scene is more or less dead. Please school me if you know an equivalent to the ZDoom or Doomworld forums to find mods and such.
Quake's community isn't as centralized as Doom's with Zdoom for mods and Doomworld for maps, but func_msgboard seems like the most used forum.
I hate brutal doom for being obnoxious as fuck though, quake 1.5 is better.
Yeah, unlike Brutal Doom, Quake 1.5 manages to provide that satisfying gory visual feedback while still retaining the core Quake 1 feel instead of something that feels like a parody of itself.
My only real problem with Quake 1.5 is that it has enemies crawl around when wounded. That was gross in brutal doom and its gross in quake.
I don't think the soldier of fortune gore fits a game about lovecraftian gods, demons and their brainwashed slaves.
wouldn't it make sense for an evil entity to push it's host's body beyond reason?
And then there's Brutal Half-Life where you feel really bad for shooting down a houndeye because he/she starts whimpering on the floor. 😥

Also, I want to buy Wolfenstein II but I'm still not sure, I liked New Order but the action tend to stop too quickly and the levels where a bit linear, most of the times you couldn't go back to other areas and if you missed something it's was all back to the beginning to pick it up.
The question is: Is Wolfenstein II more like the original or plays a bit more like DOOM?
It's worse. The balancing is all fucked up, and the game clunks to a halt several times to force you through increasingly unpleasant, unskippable first person sequences just to show you How Bad These Nazis Are Cor Blimey What Bad Buggers.
It is honestly the most disappointing game of 2017 for me. It also has fuck-all content even compared to TNO.
The only reason I like Wolfenstein 2 more than 1 is because 2 is the only one that works on my PC.
It's the inverse to me, which is the final insult ontop of the injury that is the actual game. They released a patch just after release that makes it BSOD constantly for me.
Ahh the wonders of PC gaming sometimes...
