Haha I love that dig at Walmart leaking last year.
Blood's out next month if this tweet is legit

I want to replay Wolf 2, but I know there's not much to revisit in terms of gameplay or map design. Feel bad, man.
A mere few seconds of an in-engine Doom Eternal environment (UAC techbase, likely on one of Mars' moons) appeared in this Google livestream (about 25 minutes ago at the time of posting)

I hate to be a pessimist but I can honestly say this trailer completely bored me. If it weren't for the Cortex Reaver and SHODAN I wouldn't believe you if you told me it was System Shock. Looks like SOMAlien: Killing Isolation Floor 2, honestly. I know that those games have some inspiration from System Shock but the SS games had an aesthetic that none of those really directly aped -- they just aped the atmospheric and gameplay details.
Also the Unity really shows.
apparently there will be more stuff in a hour.
I don't think System Shock 3 can install the same fear as System Shock 2 did unless they severely lower the polycount and texture resolution. The scariness of a game is inversely proportional to the tech level of the engine.
I feel the polycount doesn't matter in the least, what matters is the atmosphere and execution of the world and the threats within the world. I found Prey to be very intimidating at times, often to the point where I didn't want to risk dangerous zones for fear of death even if death was less than a minor inconvenience. If the world feels tangible and you feel like a tangible element within it, opponent to the threats that are trying to kill you, then you're going to be immersed and want to avoid threat. It's why (and I groan at having to mention it but) Dark Souls often sucks people in, roleplaying wise, because the threat of death in that game is legitimate.
My primary concern with System Shock 3 is the fact that Underworld Ascendant apparently wasn't so great, to say the least. Hopefully this doesn't turn out in a similar way.
It's at 45:22 for those wondering. Looks like some sort of space station and/or planet/moon that has been through some serious shit. I wonder if there's any low-grav sections, like in DOOM 2016's Orbital multiplayer map.

playing a different timeline is pretty refreshing i find
New enemy type, don't remember seeing it in last year's footage. Looks like a fat man with spider legs.

-Possessed Security make a return
-In addition, the Prowler from 2016's multiplayer is now a regular enemy
-Micro missile mod for the assault rifle and the remote detonation for the RL make a return
-The icon for the shotgun's explosive shot is the same as the remote detonation. We already know the "grenades" stick to enemies, perhaps now they can be activated manually?
-That new cyborg enemy appears to shoot sonic blasts and lightning
-This planet is most definitely mars given the way the terrain looks
-The dashing and wall-climbing abilities are used in some rather clever platforming puzzles
-There are more environmental hazards, such as lasers and some sort object that electrifies the ground in a radius
-Yellow "orbs" can be picked up which refuel the dash gauge
-There's some grunting going on in the footage. Is that Doomguy?
Seems so. The previous Doom games had grunting, so it makes sense for it to return after Doom 2016 turned him 100% mute.

I can't really make out everything I'm seeing fully at this quality, but is this new level Mars with a massive hole blown out of it?
Could be the aftermath of the bfg 10k getting blown up somehow
Well fuck me today was a good day for announcement
Most important thing is that the Caco's use the classic blue fireballs

Perhaps they're taking inspiration from cut content?
Looks like the two new enemies are called Gargoyle and Carcass, judging from the Codex entries.
Also the Prowler from the multiplayer is in
Old news, but interesting that Nvidia promoted it
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/quake-ii-rtx-ray-tracing-vulkan-vkray-geforce-rtx/?ncid=em-ded-g9-79175&deliveryName=DM34635
Not really old news, as I understand it NVIDIA added new materials into the mix, it looks miles better than I recall it.
I guess nvidia wanted one of the few things that support RTX to not look like pre-rendered 90s CG

Since we've got the Prowler as an enemy in DOOM Eternal's single-player, if wonder if they're going to do something with the Harvester as well.

Like, seriously, I don't want to design to go to waste.
