Not sure if this is the right place to ask but does anyone know how to restrict weapons available in Ballistic Weapon mod in UT2004? Ive been messing around with the settings but no matter what all players, bots and myself gets access to every weapon and it kinda gets boring to fight against bots that uses super weapons all the time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79y2sKDijO4 I'm still not sure if RAGE 2 belongs here, but there's a little something right at the end that should at least make some people here happy.
this is looking fun I hate to say it I might actually get it down the line. Not at launch though.

Why do you hate to say it? Is it so bad nowadays that a AAA game is fun?
Wow that's the best bit of Rage 2 Gameplay I've seen yet, I like the HUD, and how wild the weapons are. It's refreshing to see more AAA games with weapons that break away from the norm of: Hitscan, fast hitscan, shotgun hitscan, one "weird" weapon (usually a goddamn bow), and a rocket launcher. The grav dart gun looks super fun
By all technicality, while the enemies aren't good at keeping up at it, i'd say that RAGE 2 is probably faster that Doom Eternal. I'll probably get the game myself since it comes out two days before my birthday, but those two days are enough time to make or break that sale from online impressions.
It might also be that it looks that way cause the enemies die much faster
uhexen2 Holy SHIT there's finally a new hexen 2 port (really a fork but w/e) release After many months of development, we are pleased to announce the release of uhexen2-shanjaq 1.5.9.1. Thanks to sezero, Shanjaq, spike, and samkod the Hexen II community has some awesome new features. These features include BSP2 support, mission pack auto-loading, fixed dynamic darklight effects for GL, new script functionality, ZDoom-style multi-mod loading, 44.1k audio, and a new Hexen II protocol. The full list can be found in the changelog. And there's also an update to a classic spell mod to go with it https://hexenworld.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/hexen76b.png https://hexenworld.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/hexen12.png
I'm all in for more wack-shit arsenals in shooters, it just feels so good toying around with the different projectiles/whatever any of these shooters offer and making different combos from said weapons.
I love how much of Rage 2 looks exactly like you'd imagine an FPS co-developed by the Just Cause devs would look, especially everything to do with grav darts. That's not even going into how much of a great idea it was to let them handle the vehicular combat after how fun Mad Max's was. Honestly a little more hype for Rage 2 than I am Doom Eternal, though I'm still big hype for that too.
It always astounds me to think of how much time and energy must have been spent on Duke Nukem Forever. The game had to be reworked so many times, often requiring all new hires and talent for each development reboot. It went from a good Unreal Engine 1 level of graphics to needing to be completely redone from scratch in 2003 to keep up with Doom 3's tech when really the smart thing would have been to get it finished and released and start a new project.
dnf development was just daikatana development V 2.0 from just adding more features that other engines had and they didn't, just fucking rebuild from the ground up until everyone gets sick and tired of it
Diakatana didn't see multiple massive technical leaps throughout its developments that required complete reworks to keep cutting edge but ended up lagging behind massively. Going from photo textured gouraud shading and lightmapping to normal mapped phong and dynamic lighting needed a completely different set of skills for artists as well as a total rework of the renderer, and then when they were halfway through catching up with Doom 3 the Xbox 360 was announced and they needed to redo everything a second time to target that hardware. Each time these reboots happened you can see from the concept art that the whole project was reworked, with completely different settings and characters. I'm intrigued as to what those parasites from 2001 were
My favourite fun fact about Duke Nukem Forever is that they had to stop George Broussard from playing literally any new games because if he did, he would constantly ask for any neat new feature to be implemented in Forever, causing yet another delay.
DNF is probably the best example of what can happen when you have poor management and lack of direction for your game.
Late as fuck to the party but this reminds me of https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58141/e625e04b-9ba0-421d-8889-b0ea47c756d6/image.png
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdWfUv9YpuM&feature=youtu.be I'm loving the cover of Durandal's theme that showed up in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZbFILO-UTs
"lol why would we ACTUALLY put postal dude in, guys? psh, it was just an aprils fool joke" > actually puts him in
Enjoy 22 minutes of the WRATH level that was playable at PAX East: The Mire. https://youtu.be/OCbmCL0Cyy0

Wrath looks very good so far! I love the style and feel of everything, especially with that sound design. The abilities look like a fantastic addition along with the alt fires and what appears to be multiple armor types at once is interesting. However the enemy behavior seems very standard and I'm not clear on how that big charging monster is meant to be dodged but maybe that's because its in tight encounters.
They might lower it's speed or reaction time in lower difficulties. I feel the big dude is meant to teach players how to dodge with strafe jumping, kinda like Dark souls' dodge roll. But in the end that all depends on the level design and how well the devs will incorporate it's strengths and weaknesses.
Is it possible to slap the new content from DN3D's 20th Anniversary World Tour into Megaton Edition (or vice versa)? I'd like to play as much Duke 3D in one go without having to switch between the two versions.
https://slayersclub.bethesda.net/en/referral/08019e5ec3fbc1c6515c275e52a21165 For some reason I haven't seen this anywhere else, but the Slayer's Club website got updated, and it's already got a whole bunch of things like several articles and a fan art gallery. There's also some sort of rewards system where you earn points to rank up and earn stuff like merch coupons and additional in-game skins like this: https://images.ctfassets.net/rporu91m20dc/7Fm7D218KdROPoNYyZqlzu/dde0be75f7d62b51cbb79efe600ed1bd/YearofDOOM_SkinVanityImages_vanity_1600x325-01_w_text.png BTW yeah that is a referral link. I earn points from people visiting it.
I love that zombie mancubus.
And some more RAGE 2 gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uz6mwxkRw0w Those shotgun sounds are fucking ace.
It makes me chuckle that the Blood wiki has screamshots listed as Screamshots.
eyy, it's my boy draqu the jungle setting just screams farcry 3 to me
yeah the capital letter makes it hilarious
