Battlefield Franchise Megathread v"Seriously, nobody made a new thread yet?"

Yeah, it's the holiday gift I think.
Tried it out jn and it was pretty good. You get a slower STG with very manageable recoil even without upgrades. Slap a scope on it and set it to single fire and it feels like a Gewehr 1-5 with a bipod. The TTK reversion ain't live yet, so dunno how it'll perform in the old TTK.
Could they... not have just given it to the medic?
Is it just me or is the "Look Up" assignment bugged? I've gotten several V1/JB2 kills in several games and I still haven't gotten it yet. I really want that helmet.
it would have been statistically superior to every gun the medic gets, so no.
So apparently by "be able to join a new server immediately" when they rolled out the server update, DICE actually meant "be kicked out of any games in progress, be unable to play for half an hour, and have all your active assignments reset."
Yeah it has been a problem for a lot of people. It worked for me though. I believe I read somewhere that the assignment may be completed retrospectively when the problem is solved (based on your v1/jb2 kills during that ToW phase I guess)
My pc is a bit crappy but I do have a PS4, is this game "worth it" on console?

the ribeyrolles is super fun to use. very accurate, very controllable, very damaging, very bipod. already got full gold and mint skins for it ~6 hours after it was given out
Is the TTK fixed yet?
Server side update, so I think?
Not tried yet. Hope so, I really want to play cuz I've avoided this game since last week
yes
You have to be the person who calls it in and it can't be on Grand Operations. I'd do it on Conquest just to be safe. I got two V1's on Devastation so I think that's a good map for it.
And in the BTS after the film ends, Peter Jackson talks about how his grandfather died at 50 from all the medical issues he had after the war.
As much as details were unattended by DICE in BF1, I'm glad it helped shine the light on that war for more people.
So another weapon besides the ribey is coming too
judging by dogtags, it's likely the m1897 shotgun
There's also this blogpost on the Battlefield website that says its the M1897

still wondering why the chau-chau wasnt put into MP considering its in the SP.
I hope so, really want my pump action.
Why make new weapons when you can just copy and paste old ones
especially the ribeyrolles which has it's attachments literally clipped into the gun. It looks so sloppy.
Pump shotgun's gonna be so fucking good as people are more fragile in this game that running the Drilling is enough to destroy entire servers in the right hands
Hope it's like the Drilling and won't have annoying as shit screen shake when firing like previous games as that shit's super annoying as fuck
I don't mind it too much since they are free this time around. My hope is that they are saving iconic WW2 weapons for themed packs later on.
Anyone else feel like the partial self-heal regen is a bit pointless?
With the general fast TTK and relative abundance of sources of bandages along with their ease of activation, I find the amount of times I go 'thank the lord I can regen' to be super rare as usually when I'm in such a position, I can just retreat or hide until I can get myself a bandage. It feels like a leftover design choice that DICE left while still feeling unsure of.
Frontlines small is great. Perfectly sized maps for the player count. Also the Bren reminds me of the Bren from the first Call of Duty and that's a very good thing.
The opening to Grand Operations gives me flashbacks to Omaha Beach from 1942, which was a terrible map. I know some people love that kind of gameplay but it's really not for me. After that though, it's been a lot of fun on the larger maps. I'm glad that the stages after the first of the North Africa Grand Operations map gives you room to move around and doesn't funnel you down corridors.
Overall though, I'm having a blast.
It doesn't start for something like 30 seconds, but if you're 30 seconds away from a resupply or a medic, something is wrong. I've seen people say the thrown bandages should only heal while the medic crate actually resupply and that sees like a good idea and would actually give the medic crate a reason.
To this day, Hardline was the best battlefield. Solely because you can nab supplies from supports without having to chase them around and shoot their skulls with a handgun to get their attention.
better fucking idea: grab nearby oblivious brainlet medics by the foot, shoot them with your pistol and syringe yourself
FUCK pubbies my fucking lord
Feels like they didn't want to get rid of health regen completely, but they definitely considered it.
A quirk of how militaries designate their weapons. The MG-34 is the prototypical general purpose machine gun while the Lewis, despite being multi-purpose itself, being designed as a light machine gun. The bipods not working is doubly frustrating because they worked fine in BF1.
Not sure about the best but absolutely, criminally (no pun intended) underrated. Hard to argue with the claims of it being a particularly ambitious total conversion mod but a Battlefield game where the most threatening vehicles were a machine gun MRAP and a scout helicopter was super refreshing, not to mention the unique maps and Hotwire.
Regarding that actual mechanic though my suspicion is that DICE doesn't want to take away from what little teamwork actually exists in current iterations of Battlefield.
I'm pretty sure there was no health regen at all in alpha but I could be wrong. I know the attrition aspect of the game was originally designed to be much harsher than what we have now.
If you are coming from prior Battlefield games, I'd recommend slowing down a bit until you get used to the lack of 3D spotting and spotting in general. I had a hard time in the beta but now I'm back up to my BF1 average despite having drastically less FPS and most of my playtime as medic and support. Learn how to use tanks. I've had several 20+ kills 0 deaths games by just using them conservatively and staying within the infantry screen. If you really don't like vehicles, assault is the best class for frags unless you are a wicked sniper.
