The game's weapon selection still drives me up a wall. It wreaks of "we don't have time, port over BF1 weapons!" Tide of War is such a missed opportunity. I wish they would have committed to the idea of moving the game forwards over time, but instead it's full of so many anomalies (M1A1 Carbine, Volkssturmgewehr, etc.) that it's hard to treat it as anything more than a marketing farce for releasing an unfinished game.
It absolutely blows me the fuck away how blatant the retarded ass censorship in this game is. Nazi is censored? Are you fucking kidding me? NAZI. in censored in a fucking WORLD WAR 2 GAME. AND YOU CAN'T EVEN DISABLE THE CHAT CENSOR
Idk how it works but it censor the silliest things.
I'm not too pissed of it censoring semi-political bullshit, but I'm mega pissed that I can't call my teammates idiots Fuck off DICE, it's my God given right to verbally abuse my brainlet teammates in retaliation for their unrivaled retardation and lack of basic decision making or reflexes
the biggest issue with the censor is the very common stuff that gets censored like "uhh" or "put a" or stuff like that. It makes actually using chat to communicate hard because you have to figure what you can and cant say
It wouldn't be a problem if you could just turn it off. I'm an adult DICE, I can deal with naughty words. How about you go do something productive like fixing that assignment soft hang that you said you fixed in the last patch.
Yeah the fact you can't turn it off annoys me a lot. It's a rated M game. I'm an adult, I can handle mean people saying bad words on the internet. This isn't runescape or club penguin, have the filter off by default and if someone is bothered by mean words, they can turn it on themselves.
For how scarce ammo is on tanks, there should be more vehicle depots on the map. Hamada has like 3 (?) over the enormity of itself.
Tank supply depot reinforcement for like 5k would be a good compromise.
If splash damage and general balance of tank cannons weren't whack in general, I would be fine with the distribution of supply depots around the maps. With the 88mm tickling the balls of soldiers 5 nanometers from the epicenter though, I wouldn't be opposed if current ammo for tanks would be doubled or even tripled with the piss poor damage they do.
Tanks would actually be fun and balanced if they increased the splash damage of tank rounds but removed 3rd person view for a vehicle-bound "periscope" view.
With the dogshit visibility, fragility of current tanks and the implementation of accurate turret rotation speeds, I don't think 3rd person is too much of an issue now compared to how it was in BF4/BF1. Even during the beta, tanks could still be easily flanked and killed due to all of the factors above while they actually had a fighting chance thanks to their fine splash damage. There's also the fact that since skins/customization is a thing for tanks now, it would probably turn a lot of people off to not see them in full 3rd person glory.
Lack of third person would make driving on some of these maps a total nightmare.
To be honest I like current state of tanks. I'm using main cannon against other armored vehicles and against infantry in buildings. A machine gun is you known, good in every situation.
I find that if you don't drive the tank like a complete moron and go straight into the cap with it, survivability is pretty good.
I think tanks are in a weird place. They are really fun, but the problem is that they feel like they belong in a different game. They're balanced around a much slower paced game with far less nimble infantry, much larger maps, and open maps with a lot less clutter to get stuck on or block LOS. They could use a buff, but only a very slight one. I think a good way to make them much more effective without doing something dramatic is to give them gun stabilization in first person view. It's unrealistic, but honestly the speed of the infantry part of the game just isn't in line with how awkward the tanks are to aim right now. That one change would make tanks much easier to use and more effective. I'm hesitant to buff tanks too much because even as somebody who has always loved driving tanks in Battlefield I really like how they play more of a supporting role now. It's more interesting to play, and actually a great Battlefield analogue to how tanks are used in real life combined arms warfare.
I don't really care about the censoring because I rarely ever use the chat, but I once had to reply to a guy complaining about medic crates being bad. I said "It's not really the medic crates, it's the people who refuse to use them." and it got censored to "It's not really the medic crates, it's the people who ******* to use them." That was a bit annoying. And yet there are still meme lords who call others "communist" as an insult and they never get censored no matter what they say.
Tanks are really fun to fight each other, not so much infantry
Personally I do not want to see tanks buffed, I think they're fine from the limited time I've used them. I do have bad experiences of being sniped by tanks on open maps though.
But that’s kinda the problem - the tanks are so weak against infantry that many stay far away sniping without the risk if being swarmed by assaults. The only buff I would like to see is the splash damage being increased - the turrets are already slow as shit meaning you have no chance when someone gets close

How do you feel about tanks in BF1? I feel like tanks were fairly easily swarmed there aswell but I prefered it that way, tanks should stay back and maybe not snipe but atleast stay behind infantry cover.
I felt that the tanks could tank a lot mor damage in 1 which made up for their poor maneuverability (like the A7V for instance). The AT gadgets were also a lot less efficient compared to the faust and piat (especially as you had to go prone with the rocket rifle in 1)
Anyone have the map rotation for all the maps? I wanna plan it so I start the next game on the map I want, instead of it being in-progress.
You can check it by pressing on the 3 dots on the server browser per server and bringing up server info On top of my head though, the rotations is I think; Arras>Devastation>Hamada>Fjell>Twisted Steel>Rotterdam>Panzerstorm>Aerodrome>Narvik
Man, I threw 2 dynamites at the side of a churchill, then fired a panzerfaust right into it's ass. As it backed up over a snow drift I fired a shot into the rear under side and it still didn't fuckin' die. I feel like the AT class is a little gimped. I got close enough to stick explosives to a tank and position myself to fuck it from behind and I was not rewarded with a kill. C'maaan
Dynamite doesn't reliably damage tanks for some reason. I say this mostly as a tanker than as an assault (it's actually my lowest rank class). I've had people stick me with dynamite and fire a schreck and still have enough health left over to take one more shot.
I don't like ittttttttt :C
I would love to test tanks to see how damage works but DICE made the most useless practice range they could.
best way to take out a tank is to stick dynamite onto the engine in the back + piat + at grenade. don't aim for tracks or the front.
