Know what would make Fjell actually bearable for breakthrough? Add planes. The only reason A in the first part is an absolute nightmare for attackers is that rock bend thats near the defender spawn, and the fact that the entire area is open. If someone picked bomber, it would force defenders to spread out and stop the choke from that hill/bend.
Inverse from this, Fjell conquest shouldn't have planes.
Fjell is Dices worst map designs in a nutshell. Minimum two routes to an objective, impossible to back cap if you get locked out without using a plane and bailing out.
[Muffled Hamada in the distance] Seriously I don't get how DICE managed to make such bad maps for this game. Fjell is bad, Hamada is the worst map in Battlefield history, Panzerstorm is interesting but completely unplayable for 1 and a half of the classes, Narvik is full of snipers, etc. The map that I'd say is overall the most solidly playable is Rotterdam. Honestly as much as I hate to say it, I think DICE should take a page from CoD's book and reskin some old good maps. I'd think that the general layout of places like Seine Crossing and Tahure Square haven't changed too much.
So far one of my biggest complain is clunked vaulting system, especially when it comes to rocks or high ground. In BF1 it was almost flawless (I started playing BF in mid-2018). And, yeah, you know, I just completed Mirror's Edge Catalyst, so my complaining is a bit justified. :v
I don't think Hamada is bad, but a lot of it's interesting play area isn't used in conquest, and sneaky back cappers are very annoying to deal with (pretty much impossible). Aerodrome is still the peak of terrible level design. I lose the will to play when it comes on. I kinda wish there were less pubbie-magnet points (Aerodrome hangar, Arras village, Devastation church, etc). There are a lot of interesting areas to fight at, but they are also completely empty in one mode, but basicly mandatory in other modes. Didn't even know about the large number of apartments around the cinema in Devastation until I played fucking team deathmatch, and it's a shame because I was getting strong RO2 vibes.
It's funny how the game with the hyped up "improved" movement systems has the clunkiest and buggiest movement of all the recent Battlefield games.
Those small bushes on Twisted Steel or the small piles of snow on the side of roads on Narvik make me want to kill myself. Good luck vaulting over that shit.
the filter censors "~5" and "~7". it leaves the tilde alone, and it doesn't care if it's a bigger number with 5 or 7 as the first digit. i feel this makes it clear that it was not entirely generated by humans
It also censored "drop a bomb" which makes it rather difficult for me to call out airstrikes.
Honestly, as much as I hate unskippable intro scenes and the developers who have them, I almost wonder if it might reduce the odds of people playing conquest servers thinking they're in deathmatch.
especially when the fucking soldiers voice lines say every swear under the sun when they're bleeding out. Dice is fucking pathetic.
DICE: To encourage a friendly environment in a game where you kill each-other, we censor out any cursed words in the chat! Also DICE: Alright, i want you to say fuck when you're calling out for a medic. Oh and Craig Fairbrass, when we get to the final act of your campaign, make sure you say this line: "You have just told every CUNT with an iron cross exactly where we are." Cool? Alright! Let's get to work!
You just described the exact intent with the first one. Characters saying swear words doesn't go against it because nobody gets upset over them. They are not directed at any particular player.
They may as well go ahead and add in goofy cosmetics and dance emotes because I feel like I'm playing WW2 Fortnite
https://www.unknowncheats.me/forum/battlefield-v/312907-battlefield-5-anticheat-measures.html It has functional anti cheat, don't you worry. I don't know why cheaters are seemingly everywhere and not banned yet, especially because looking around those forums, it's pretty clear that the anti cheat in BFV is the best it has ever been. I guess somebody somewhere managed to make a very functional private cheat this time around. And by the way, it's not like it's impossible to stay undetected for a long period of time in cs:go or OW, as long as you are bypassing the right routines and stay clever, and VAC for cs:go has been around for a very very long time.
It categorically does not. If it did, people like this would not be blatantly (not even remotely trying to hide) cheat with rank 50, 64+ hours play time and countless profile reports. When people cheat this obviously you don't need cheat definitions (like PB or VAC) to catch them - statistical analysis alone would nab this guy in a couple of rounds if it was operational.
Im waiting for them to add in a broken anticheat that bans 500x more innocent people than guilty
I find it hilarious it blocks Nazi as a word in a world war 2 game. I understand the intention, but it's a tad absurd.
It also blocks out ALT+F4. Which is hilarious.
https://youtu.be/Qd-QQWgIalE Almost shit myself that time, lol
Nicely done, just wait until you get the casket mags.
Ughgghgghghg 9 days till ToW 2
They're doing the usual final tests and approval for the next update this week, so expect a patch when Chapter 2 starts Gonna be another carpet bomb patch apparently, 10 pages of patch notes
Any new maps?
If Medic doesn't get massive buffs we riot
No new maps, but a new Grand Op and a few game modes as shown by the roadmap Not sure about Medic buffs, but considering how massive the last few updates were, I wouldn't be surprised if a buff is in the works.
See you say that but the moment they "buffed" them last time they then went and fucked the whole game up. Cross your fingers
I used to be of the mind that medics didn't need a buff because the class that heals itself also shouldn't be a competitive class in terms of killing people but the last few sessions I played were trying to get medic to 20 and I found myself routinely losing gunfights where I landed the first shot. I don't know if the playerbase is getting better generally or the newer/less experienced players have already quit but I'd be okay with a slight TTK buff for every gun that isn't the Suomi and Thompson, who I feel have good niches at close range already.
Guys, I don't know why but playing BFV is just depressing for me. After a few matches I feel like I completely wasted my time instead of just playing for fun. I'm at max level so I'm not making any progression there, most of the weapon challenges are just incredibly annoying to get but I feel like if I'm not trying to get one of them I'm wasting an opportunity. It's so hard to max out my remaining planes because you can't reliably spawn in one and if you do you're stuck using a plane that might be suboptimal for the situation on top of being handicapped from the lack of upgrades. The progression system is just sabotaging any attempt I try at having a good time. It fucking sucks. I completely regret buying the Deluxe Edition. Hell, I think I simply should have waited another 6 months before buying the base game. Fuck this shit, I just want to not constantly have to thinking about playing optimally for unlocks. Oh and also the nagging thought of missing out on some unique melee weapons because I can't be arsed completing shitty challenges in the tacked-on singleplayer. Why couldn't they just have a kill requirement for gun skins? Have assignments ever been fun for anyone here at all? I've always hated then even back in Battlefield 3. They never increased the fun, only the annoyance. I told my best friend "hey dude, I'll play with you no problem if you explicitly ask me but I don't think I'll ever play it on my own or ask you to play with me otherwise". I've been playing Battlefield since 1942 the beginning (without an internet connection, even!) but I'm officially turned off from the series at this moment. Fuck me, what do I do?
