I mean majority of early war smgs were basically a tube with a bolt and a mag slapped somewhere on it.
So in terms of weapons there's: zk-383 modele 1944 mas 36 1922 vehicles: stug archer that plane squad call-ins: smoke barrage artillery barrage
I'm just happy my SAS and Paratrooper beret fetish will be fulfilled.
I was just thinking about how useful it would be to have a low cost smoke barrage considering mortars are gone and smoke grenades are tied to a single class with almost 0 pickrate.
And flakfire saw the ross rifle in there, so maybe it'll be like the first tides of war where 3 weapons are unlocked by challenge/cc and 2 are unlocked by logging in.
We're in 1942, Italy, Poland, Germany and Australia had developed completely unique SMGs that actually were visually distinct. There's no excuse. Especially since there's no way we're getting an Italian specific update.
MY BABY MAS IS IN, guess what i'll exclusively be using. Though, it seems to be a MAS-49, a semi-auto rifle, and not the 36, a bolt-action. Here's hoping it's got a decent firerate.
Like what. Germany used the MP-18 and 40, brits used stens and Thompsons, almost every other smg is a rifle butt stock with a tube on it. The only ones that are up at that time that didnt look like that is the french MAS-38. Russian and american guns are most likely coming later, but majority of european smgs all derive from the mp-18 platform because most didn't realize how vital they were for the time till the war had already started.
I'd be fine with variants even, like the Sten Mk1s and Mk5s. Point being there's a few options they could be using to not make it feel like most medic guns are the same. We may be in the early parts of the war but DICE is no stranger to anachronisms even within BFV.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austen_submachine_gun https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danuvia_43M_submachine_gun https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M50_Reising https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owen_Gun https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OVP_1918 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ori%C8%9Ba_M1941 All of these. All of them, are from 1942 or earlier. And that's intentionally not including anything US related (Though the M50 Reising did -originate- in the US, but was shipped elsewhere.) These aren't even including PROTOTYPES which DICE haven't been afraid of including before.
The ones you listed are literally rifle butt stocked tubes with or without pistol grips and would fall into "it just looks like an emp/mp-18.
If you want to play into semantics that way all guns are just butt stocked tubes in different configurations. Again, the point is going for something different, even if it's just "a tube with the mag in a different place," at least that's the point i'm getting at.
Same with this post, the only difference is the mag is going down instead of the side, or it got a pistol/fore grip. The only one that doesnt look the same is the OVP and Owen. You were complaining about other countries getting unique models, and I said they all are essentially the same thing with small bits changed here and there. I mean, your first pick is a literal sten gun variant that got a foregrip.
Like twenty seconds on wikipedia just proves your argument wrong so... okay?
We've not brought up function at all, literally the entire point is variety, we want different looking guns. And you need some glasses if you think the Danuvia and Reising look the same as a Sten or an MP18.
20 seconds and you posted 2 good candidates and a literal sten variant. I rather not have 7 other smgs that all look the exact same as the sten/sumoi but with very tiny tweaks between them. We already have the mp-18 there while being objectively worse than the mp-40 in every single way than maybe reload time.
Variety | Definition of Variety by Merriam
Reising is american and will most likely come later. So far we've only been getting euro based guns, hence I left it out of my examples. Danuvia i missed ill admit, and could be added, but the majority of that list are basically samey suomi/sten guns with nothing truely sticking out in visual or functional comparisons.
Most of the weapons in BF4 were fine, i'll argue BF1 had the most useless weapons. Regardless variety was, yet again, the entire point and you've just pushed past that to push your own argument. Even within the other classes we've already gotten and will continue to get weapons that already have their roles filled, i'll take some visual variety in the weakest class even if the weapons function similarly, as most already do. I don't want to come to BF6 and the medic class be 90% MP18 derivatives by the end. Like i said, i'll even take the different Sten marks 'cause they at least are visually distinct, but would have different performance than the Mk2.
Why would you make different Sten marks as different weapons isntead of cosmetic options for the Sten? As it is it already gets bits from the different marks anyway as cosmetic options.
I'm not necessarily saying they should, just that i'd be more alright with that than what we're getting.
I hope this shit can cover an entire objective. Curious how this can change the game.
Holy shit you can drive a tractor in Firestorm!!
I believe it's an Hs-129 but I don't know planes like I know tanks.

So far the list of guns added is one for everyone. Medic gets a Czech zk-383. Assault gets a French MAS-38/39/40/44/49/56. Support gets a French Hotchkiss 1922 machine gun. Finally scout has a Canadian Ross Mk.3.
I haven't played much of BFV and I got into a conquest match on Hamada this evening. Who designed this map??
Patch just dropped and damn what a great way to start off 2019; Medic revive circles are broken rn, they always show full while the deploy screen UI is fucking broken where it doesn't load up the blue company hangar anymore and instead shows you a fully transparent view of the map, making UI text super hard to read and giving no visual of any customization you're making. New killcam is also super janky. Like, it'll instantly zoom in and snap to your killer which feels like something from a janky early access game attempt at the killcam instead of a proper professional AAA one In spite of all this, the SMG buffs made them about on par with Beta performance which is super good. I can full auto across a hallway while still needing to burst very slowly beyond 20m or so. They definitely feel much more consistent and sensible to use compared to their rather sporadic performance pre-patch. The Stuka is really fucking loud now holy fuck and general in-game music has also gotten their volumes upped a notch which is nice. The footstep fixes works wonders now and other audio issues including too quiet gunshots and individual guns not being distinct enough in third person have all been fixed and the game has a MUCH better sound atmosphere in this patch than before.
I refuse to believe they have a UI team that is actually made up of UI developers. They're beyond fucking incompetent
Their previous lead who I had lectures with (I think he worked on BF4 and maybe BF1) is now like in charge for the continued gameplay development (i.e. tides of war stuff basically). idk who replaced him.
