I'm sorry but having to choose between air superiority or ground superiority, ground has to win.
Not only are the majority of players playing infantry at any given moment but broken planes can really break the balance between teams and it's especially frustrating since some maps/modes wont even let you repair AA.
Sure but I shouldn't be able to be hit all the way in my spawn from their spawn. Range on the mobile AA needs to be seriously reduced to prevent hiding in spawn
I would go so far as to say just not have planes in the game. It exists as an almost wholly separate mode of play to ground combat and is impossible to balance so that both groundpounders and pilots have fun. Either planes feel useless or people on the ground feel oppressed. I wonder how much of Bad Company 2's popularity had to do with the fact that it's air vehicles were so much easier to counter.
Just had a battle where the enemy team had 2 bomber pilots which both went 120-3 because we had no good pilots on our team and those bombers just constantly took out any AA turrets that were available.
AA would actually be fine and skill-based if you had to adjust the timed fuze. Make it so that it absolutely shreds everything but you actually have to aim it. That proximity detonation is lazy.
On most maps there's enough clutter to prevent that. On Narvik there's buildings and uneven terrain, on Fjell the mountains make it almost impossible for an AA to have line of sight long enough to down a plane, the only place where hiding back is viable is Panzerstorm.
Honestly I still wish they brought back the grenade indicator for bombs, it was nice in BF1 to know what was going to kill you rather than just suddenly exploding due to something you couldn't see.
I can see people abusing adjustable timed fuse AA to make it even more oppressive to infantry than it already is, if they didn't balance it correctly it would just be airburst for AA against infantry
I wouldn't say so. I fly so low and shit still hits me.
IMO stationary AA should be more powerful and longer range. Tank AA should be short range requiring you to move.
They could just... not make it very damaging to infantry. Also, make it a dud on impact if the fuse is set too high.

Not really, the conclusion the Germans came to in WW2 was that portable (IE: self propelled or towed via track) AA was effectively incapable of actually damaging enemy planes, hence they adopted a strategy of issuing FlAK guns with tracer rounds only, and developed multi gun systems like the quad guns on the wirbelwind, to basically act as suppressing fire to scare planes away rather than actually shoot them down.

I have, but the option for it still didn't show up. Performance on DX12 also seems worst than DX11 so I have swapped back for the time being. GPU software is also up to date as well.
Damn, I don't find Breakthrough enjoyable at all. Shame most if not all the weekly achievements are locked to it!

i'd enjoy breakthrough more if the out of bounds were drawn better instead of by a dude with parkinson's.
some of these boundaries make no sense. some maps have the oob right next to the objectives, others have like a mile trek through no man's land.
I wish they would remove Hamada from Breakthrough. I've never seen the attackers get past the second sector.
I played that yesterday and we steamrolled the defenders until we reached the last sector, wich has 3 flags making it much more difficult to capture, I think that's where DICE should take a look instead.
I kinda dislike the whole thing of fucking off the attacker's victory by having your ass hair touch an objective for a milisecond.
I swear it feels like this game gets less stable with every update, there hasn't been a day this week where Battlefield V didn't crash on me multiple times.

tl;dw: Blame placed on launching with a campaign instead of battle royale, BFV didn't move as many Origin Access subscriptions as they wanted, recognition that their marketing sucked, BF4 and BF1 still pretty active.
god damn, now that you mention it...
Battle Royale is a static genre that doesn't do much to differentiate one game from another in general; but it does seem like EA is once again treating Titanfall and Battlefield as competitors to one another, though ironically it looks like this time Titanfall is winning.
Personally I think Origin Access was just a misguided idea in the first place, the subscription model was big in early online games but nowadays its mostly died out in favor of f2p with microtransactions.
