Arent all the characters listed were the ones with the game shattering bugs in them? I know that Olimar would get fused to the other fighter, wonder if this is just fixing those major bugs that got past inspection before launch rather than any real changes. MAYBE that's why the patch notes were barren.

stupid question, how do I consistently do a Up, B. Without flying off into the air and still be planted to the ground and or vice versa as characters that allow it, like for example Links spin slash. Many times I would want to spin slash the opponent next to me, nope I fly. Opponent above me? Nope ground spin slash.

Sounds like you have tap jump on
Turn off tap jumping, so you don't jump when you press up.
go into your controller options, and turn off Up to Jump that way you only do an aerial Up B if you pressed the jump button first

Ah, nope, even on docked mode, there's weird shit happening with the main menu UI. I didn't restart the game after docking, I had it in handheld mode previously. Maybe that's what I did wrong? I know this seems like a stupid thing to gripe about but my standards are strange and this is very hard to look at to me. I know I'm likely the odd one out. Please don't hurt me.

Does anyone know the button combination for King K Rool's side attack when he punches downward? I can only do it every now and then, ever other time he drop kicks instead.
Do you mean angling his forward smash or his back air? If you mean his giant downward hook, that's his back air.
When you selected duck hunt on the menu it would actually let you into a fight. Now it just deletes all your save data as punishment like it was originally intended.
Okay, guess it's time for me to be upset at something that isn't about the UI. Darn it, I was hoping they made it so you could have two players on one system in arena mode in this installment, my SO and I could only afford one Switch so we both can't play with our online friends at the same time. We played the 3DS version of Smash 4 over the Wii U version for this exact same reason, which made it bearable at the very least. I was hoping they'd add that feature in Ultimate at least, because it's a lot more expensive to have more than one Switch than it is to have more than one 3DS. SO is considering dropping the Nintendo Online subscription because it's not worth the money if only one of us can play against our friends and not randoms at a time, and the other has to miss out on the fun. It took us quite a while just to save up for one Switch and one copy of the game, by the time we save up for another, we'll all be burnt out on the game in general. Unfortunate but I guess that's just the way life goes.
