Super Smash Bros. General v21: A River in a Dry Land

Ok, I consider myself to be decent at the game, but I cannot for the life of me consistently beat Lv. 9 K.Rool AI
He just seems to have everything, there doesn't feel like there's a reliable angle to exploit here
There's literally not a single Smash game where Squall Hammer isn't broken.
In Brawl, it could make Nana intangible or glue her to Popo, and in Melee, it could freeze players if initiated mid-grab.
Been enjoying the changes made to Robin.
The running speed buff he got made me enjoy playing him a lot more.
Also to conserve battery.
Now that Wolf had his best parts removed (I miss you multi-hit Nair), this is what my roster's looking like

Pink is (obvious) main, Purple is characters I'm practicing and want to get competent with, grey is characters I enjoy the most but will probably never be seen outside of friendlies
Nah, PK Freeze is just that bullshit. You need to be hyper-vigilant against it.

I made this a couple days ago, I'm about 100 hours in and this is my general perception.
I used to main Ness/Lucas but Incineroar's a lot of fun. I was really excited for Inkling but I don't like how they play at all. I'm getting better at Isabelle tho
Heavies can fuck right off in this game honestly. Charizard should *NOT* be floating back to the stage at 220%
I really like inklings mobility but maybe I'm stupid but I can't wrap my brain around effectively using their ink buffs. Same with shulk. I like how he handles but I doubt I'll really be able to use his buffs effectively.
When I was seeing footage of this game before released I was worried that every stock wasn't going to end until the 200% range, but I haven't run into the problem at all now that I'm playing. Who are you using?
I was Toon Link. Same with K.Rool, comes back down at 182% after getting hit with a smash attack. Me though? I die.
You should easily be able to kill a heavy in that range with one of toon links aerials. Don't just sit in the center of the stage, close the distance.
I don't play like that dude
"i dont do the things that prevent what im complaining about"
then you don't win
Play passively and take longer to get kills
Play aggressively and kill more quickly
you can literally only choose one
It's not just you, almost all LCD TVs have unplayable levels of input lag.
Hell, I have it jankily hooked up HDMI > VGA since my actual HDMI port is in use, and it STILL looks and feels great
Mother 3 spoilers
who thought this was okay
Hehe that thing where you purposefully misinterpret what I say haha
In any case are the elite thresholds different per character? 1.5mil isn't enough for Toon Link
A tip for those of you struggling against K.Rool either as a CPU or online, he seems to really struggle against characters who can pour unrelenting aggression onto him faster than he can whip out his blunderbuss. Little Mac and Meta Knight have been seeing a lot of positive results for me, despite not usually playing them, because they can exploit a little known mechanic of his; if you hit his armored belly enough times in rapid succession, or just a few times hard enough, you get a free shield break. Meta Knight covers the former and has the mobility to just ignore half of what he does anyway, and Little Mac can break his defenses in just two Fsmashes, killing him outright in as little as three or four.
I don't see how what you said could be interpreted any other way.
from what I feel that applies to pretty much all cpu character
"i cant seem to kill heavies as toon link"
"aerial attacks with toon link seem pretty effective for kills"
"i dont play like that"
What exactly are people misinterpreting?
I mean online as well, versus actual players. K.Rool doesn't like getting rushed down in general, since basically anything can interrupt the blunderbuss startup animation, and that's his main approach/spacing tool.
Ok, it's my fault for not being specific. I'm talking about just standing around at the edge.
http://www.siliconera.com/2018/12/22/sakurai-talks-about-how-he-wasnt-involved-character-balancing-at-all-in-super-smash-bros-ultimate/
Basically a whole team that Sakurai isn't a part of will be handling the balance of the game.
I mean if you want to stop someone from recovering, the edge is a pretty good place to do it from.
That explains why lots of characters don't suck ass anymore and we have a remarkably balanced roster where nearly everybody is viaable.
That pic is so interesting to me. I love how (if it's actually from Nintendo) they use figures, an S.H. Figuarts figure in particular, as reference for poses, but it's also really weird because I've never really seen Sakurai, Nintendo, or really any company post those kind of "reference" pose pics.
