Cloud isn't anywhere near as bad as Chrom in terms of recovery tho
Cloud also has a projectile, longer reach, his recovery covers his hitbox on the way up unlike Chrom, and Limit was busted with how strong it was. Chrom's Aether differs from Ike's in that he doesn't throw his sword up, making it possible to hit him from above easily.

IMO, in stamina battles, final smashes should do more damage the lower the target's HP is. That way they work like finishers if the target is low, like they do in standard battles.
Does anyone have any tips on how to deal with the Belmonts if you don't have any projectiles/reflects of your own? I play Ganon, Lucina, and Ridley; but I just can't even get near them most of the time unless they aren't spamming.
Just unlocked all the characters as of tonight. I'm not sure if I want to finish World of Light however - the last area has already bored me enough.
I've actually survived a few Final Smash Meter Critical Hits from Marth and Lucina, although they were in matches with more than two players
Bait out projectiles and move around them. They move in set patterns. Axe is always an arc, cross is always a slow straight boomerang, holy water is always down and forward.
Take advantage of their air state. That's where they suck the most. Staying above diagonally to them will make them use the axe, which is the slowest projectile, and you can easily rush into them.

Well got Smash Ultimate recently, and finished Bowser's Classic mode. For some reason, Metal Mario appearing at the end with the music change felt somewhat special.
So here's a conspiracy theory: Everyone that had data sharing with Nintendo enabled and also used Amiibo probably shared Amiibo data with Nintendo for them to use to develop the absurd AI some of the CPUs have in Ultimate. I want to say "there's no way they'd do that" but then at the same time "why is this Palutena CPU so aggressive it's only a level 6"
Except Amiibo "learning" was revealed within weeks of it starting to just be "if attacks aren't dealing damage, only use attacks that do damage". They didn't have some special way of actually "learning". CPUs in this game are so strong because they went full-out on making them read inputs and abuse the inherent frame data that is stored within the game.
Good day to you! Hope you don't mind me dropping by but I got a letter for you. Let me see if I can find it. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1883/7bac04e0-b55a-4365-8d81-767e86f7512d/200px-Pete_NLa.png Oh here you go! https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1883/63d920a8-3d61-49ff-b624-3c7ffa9227cf/DuWv2xpWoAAb8Sz.png Have a good day! I have plenty more letters to deliver. But before I go. Would anyone mind helping me find a Mr. Waluigi and a Mr.Banjo?
The entirety of Facepunch is the next DLC character???????????
Aw shit nigga we gonna be underpowered as fuck
We're gonna be poor.
Our final smash is basically us spawning Garry who instead completely murders us and wins the opponent the game.
What made them think this awful timing miningame was a good idea after spirit board fights? Even if you find it easy, I can't see how anyone could find it fun or interesting, the only possible thing I can see it adding to the game is pointless frustration. Honestly I'm just venting after using all my rematch items and fucking it up, but it really does just seem completely unnecessary.
What do you mean with "Last area"? Have you fought Galeem yet?
I would like to hazard a guess and say that the fight with Rayman was not actually tested with characters/spirits obtainable at that point in the map JFC I've come so close with DK but only by cheesing the shit out of the AI
Oh my fucking god I love how Kraid is a master spirit and he's really polite while roaring and shrieking THE BADAGE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN
Kraid is apparently Ridley's comrade. You ought to be a real nice lad to be friends with fucking Ridley. Also, CPUs have been reading imputs since Brawl at the very least. However, this time around, the top Japanese players were involved in the development of the game.
I've catched some CPUs teching and dashdancing so I wouldn't be surprised
I still don't get why Ridley of all characters has some of the worst recovery.
It just crossed my mind: They could have given an alt for Bowser with his new fancy hairstyle from Odyssey. Now I'm kinda mad that they didn't do it.
Yes, but there's two more areas after that.
I thought I knew everything and just spoiled myself damn
Greninja's down taunt is an attack
For the most part playing aggressive and closing the distance against zoners is a pretty good strategy. Adding on to the advice already given, any stage with platforms helps to mix up your position and makes it harder for you to hit. Incidentally that means the MU is harder on final destination and you'll have to rely on your jumps to mix up your position. Also know that shielding is instant while you're running (note: not during your initial dash animation). When you're running directly towards them, predict what move they'll likely throw out by reading their habits. For the Belmonts this is limited to the cross at long range, and the holy water or whips at mid/close range. Knowing this, you can run towards them, shield whatever move comes out, then continue running towards them and go for a grab/attack or whatever. I think it might be a bit harder with the holy water because of the lasting hitbox, I would try a shorthop+airdodge forward to punish it if you're close enough. For instance if they always throw the cross then the hammer, then I would short-hop over or air-dodge through the cross and if they still throw the hammer, then it would likely whiff. I wish there was a record function in training, since you can just have someone spam one of the moves on you and you can just experiment on how to deal with it in the best way. I believe Ganon has armor on his down-B as well, maybe you can use that too? I don't think it goes through the cross, though.
