Forgive me if this is a repost
God I hate how many pokemon spirits there are. They're not even interesting pieces it's just the shit-ass dream world art. Why aren't there any trainers or anything.
The fact they're most likely to be the last spirits I get just by sheer overwhelming number is sad.
Phew, I stopped reading this thread altogether once copies started leaking out two weeks early. Finally feels safe to get reading again.
I'm 51 hours into the game, spent the entire launch weekend (Friday evening to Sunday evening) playing with friends and unlocking every character via Smash mode. Today I got through World of Light (took me 20 hours to 100%) and I'm ready to get started on doing Classic Mode runs and finishing up my Spirits collection. [WoL spoilers ahead] Since I avoided all Smash talk save for the Joker reveal I got to do WoL completely blind outside of what was shown in official material. It was quite the ride, I loved all of the boss fights and all of the different locations and homages on the map. The true ending sequence was a blast, especially getting to control Master Hand for a while, that came completely out of left-field. I'm looking forward to jumping into NG+ and getting into breaking down duplicate spirits to get a bunch of new ones
All in all, loving Ultimate so far and very excited to see what DLC brings to the table. I can see my 51 hours of gametime gradually increasing for months or years to come.
It's a crime that I can't have English text and other language sounds.
The one thing I’m hating about world of light, is how you have to run all across the map. I wish that spirits you defeated became fast travel spots. Back tracking through the map is a pain, especially when certain areas like the swamp it’s so hard to tell where the path is out.
Nothing can beat Dorpsbewoner
You'd think that Spirits that have wings or some sort of flying ability would be able to let you travel across the map. I'd even take the spaces where you rescue the main fighters as warp points.
Broke: Childish Gambino
Woke: Link Bambino
Nothing I hated more than when I realized I forgot to find Richter and found out I had to backtrack ALL the way to Dracula's Castle and needed to serpentine through the entirety of that clock area to complete a challenge I was given no indication I had to do in order to unlock the fight with him.
It would also be nice if you could change voice language per character.
Preordered the Ice Climbers since they were still in Stock on Amazon; not super fond of them, but it's neat that they're a duo. First Amiibo I've gotten for myself since WiiU Smash came out.
I want everyone who happens to read this post to immediately PM me when Joker Amiibo goes up so I can preorder 1,000 copies before anyone else.
So is there any wiki project for spirits and their effects? And which characters and their attacks benefit from things like foot attack up etc.
Kirby's attacks are 90% foot so I put those spirits on a lot in my playthrough.
List of spirits (disambiguation)
not quite how I was hoping. care much less about what character they are and a lot more about what they do
I just realized, Ruby/Sapphire and Black/White generations of Pokemon have no characters, just seemed a bit off for me
Say, I have some of these spirits they don't know the effects for. Think I'll contribute. Still though, for my personal needs the way they have this set up isn't going to be useful. Hope another comes along sometime for forming dream spirit teams.
Sadly, is consistent with those being the only generations lacking playable Pokemon.
I would love Treecko.
Also does anyone know what #748 in the spirit list is? Trying to make sure it isn't an MGS character. It could be a WarioLand one. If so, I only have two more spirits to have all the MGS ones unlocked.
Wow even in Spirits Wario got shafted. Most Spirits are from WarioWare Gold, there's barely any references to earlier titles.
Wario Land has 2 from Shake It, and one from Wario Land 4 and Master of Disguise.
Compare that to most series, renders come from every game, old or new. It's really cool to see vintage renders from Kirby Dream Land 3, DKC, the first TLoZ, Pokemon Red, etc. even though there are more recent renders.
So many missed opportunities for cool fights too, just on top of my head:
WL4's shop keeper as a spirit and put a Mr.G&W that loves to taunt with a Wario defending him.
Or Wario's Woods, with 2 Mii Fighters dressed up as Toad with bob-ombs spawning on Whispy Woods.
Or Hot Wario that's a staple in all Wario Land games. Put Wario with curry, all he does is running away, and you have to kill him before the time limit where the curry stops working.
Yes I'm still mad that they removed the black & white overalls Wario costume.
If you're reading off of the wiki list it's VERY incomplete, I added a couple to the MGS list and at least one of them wasn't even on the "unclassified" list they had for spirits they knew about but hadn't gotten stats for
Not aimed at anyone in this thread but we're 3 games in and I kinda wish people would get over Wario Land not being the focus when he's clearly supposed to represent Ware and focus mostly on it.
I like Wario Land a lot but his default isn't the overalls for a reason.
