They at least brought back wario's dash attack...
nah I think its a pretty respectable complaint. people aren't upset at wario land not being the focus, they're upset it's blatantly ignored and barely gets acknowledged, period. it's like if mario didnt have his cape, or his fludd, or cappy. it's pretty fair to want wario's presence reference more than just one era of that character. like how others do.
ganon is large good
Wario has a lot more to draw from Wario Land and the other spin-offs (Master of Disguise for example) than he does from Warioware. People have made entire movesets for him dedicated to being only Warioland moves. Project M Wario is almost exclusively Wario-land-based moves. Warioware is a good series and is clearly more popular these days than Wario Land, but literally all he gets from that series that he doesn't get from other appearance is his bike and his biker outfit. Also, the biker outfit makes him much more distinct from Mario and Luigi, which is most likely why it's used.
It's like how Sonic has had so many popular games, but almost his entire moveset is basic as hell, with very few references to them. The most unique part of his moveset is that his homing attack now has a reticle, both for QoL and to reference modern Sonic games giving him a reticle whenever he homing attacks something. he has two god-damn spindashes, and his upb is as bland as possible, just him jumping off of a spring.
So if someone else disconnects you still get banned apparently? Just got 30 minute ban after some dude with the worst ever connection DC'd on me
hey i beat you fair and square
So... anyone know how to hit the highest difficulty in classic mode? It always stops on 9.8 for me. :/
9.9
I love Wario Land and WarioWare, but there is very little WarioWare even in his moveset beyond the bike and Wario-Man. The game he has the most moves from in the first place is Wario World and neither of the other two series.
It's almost as bad as the argument that TP Ganon was a good representation of him because he had a kick that was horizontal and electric effects on d-air and jab. It's clear the moveset was made up and it's fairly common for that to be the case in Smash, and it's fair that people can be bothered by Wario's design because it took 3/4 fucking games to get the shoulder bash as a move that involved horizontal movement. However, I feel that SSBU Wario is much closer to being a good representation of Wario compared to Brawl and SSB4.
i'll be fine with adding more wario game representation to wario's moveset as long as they don't drastically change the way he plays. project m wario just didn't click with me.
Reached the Final Boss and holy shit (MAJOR SPOILERS) I'm shocked that you get to play as Master/Crazy Hand in part of the final boss, and it also has a somewhat side-scroller part. I do kinda wish there was a proper boss rush and not just part of the final boss.
Out of curiosity, what didn't you like about PM Wario?
I mean, from a competitive standpoint he's controversial since he has a lot of jank on a floaty design and is actually good, so it's fine to dislike his design, but from a moveset standpoint, the only moves completely replaced are f-throw (tosses them from over his shoulder, is unique in the game as a chargeable throw), pummel (pokes them to knock coins out), down smash (punches the ground like in WL:SI), side B (Shoulder Bash) and down air (Ground Pound).
his side b and down smash, specifically. i like the general idea behind them, but using them to me just didn't feel as good as his default moves
that said i really like his forward throw in project m and i'd love to see that become an official thing
Fair enough. The reason they couldn't keep the bike is that it's constantly a bug-riddled mess whenever it's present in Smash, but more importantly, it is game-breakingly dysfunctional in Brawl (capable of killing at random, throwing Wario into the sky, having him be caught upside down on it due to really shitty collisions and way more crap than that).
I was skeptical at first, but I had a few hours of hands on experience with Chrom.
Holy fuck he is whack.
Hits as hard as Little Mac, feels just as fast as Marth, and his Up B is a free kill if you catch an opponent near the ledge while their in midair (I know it has identical function to Ike's but I personally find it much easier to land all hits with his).
I mean I can understand that and I love the Land series but it's clearly not the goal here. His moves, his stages, his music, his trophies- everything is Ware induced.
I got the feeling that Nintendo stopped Land from existing because they saw a more unique potential in him being the microgame guy. He started out on Land but they clearly want his focus to be on Ware and to distance themselves from it which, while a shame in its own right, is somewhat understandable.
I think it's enough that he has Syrup, Shakora, Count Canolli and a couple other spirits that reference his Land history- but to me at least it's obvious why they'd overwhelmingly focus on the Diamond City cast instead.
Hnng got banned again because a walking lagOsmash, it has been 2 times and i didnt even play 15 rounds yet. Connection is fine and router is like a meter away.
By the way is it possible that wifi could mess up pro controller input? Sometime nothing happen when i press something.
I think the biggest loss is the lack of music from the games. Wario Land 4 for example has a fantastic soundtrack, and the only non warioware music included is the ruins theme from shake it dimension.
Ok wow.
I bought the Ridley amiibo and the legs were broken in the package. Went back to exchange it for another, THAT one's legs were broken. No others in the store, so no Ridley.
Holy shit, cool legendary spirits with no support slots for reasons
Anyone got tips for the final boss? My team is NES Link spirit for the sword attack up ability and Celebi for heals but I don't think it's enough.
Aaaaah I got a win online with wii fit trainer. I always feel like I'm playing wrong and whenever I get online it's super tense because if you lose the GSP for that character just fucking plummets.
I believe I read a tip ingame that if a spirit is like 4 stars but has zero or one slots, the power index of said primary spirit is going to be higher than that of a four star with three support slots. Don't quote me on that though.
IIRC the 4-star spirits with no slots get significantly higher offense/defense stats as they level up, which is nice if you get certain slot effects from skills anyway
After one fucking hour, I finally beat WoL. That was one hell of a fight. Spirit team was Skull Kid & Majora's Mask because once you enhance regular Skull Kid, the ability it has is Lifesteal, which heals you a bit for every hit you deal. Elise for support spirit for the heals.
Now I'm at 99.34%... fuck, that the hell do I have left? I'm guessing I have to get the other endings by beating Dharkkon or Galeem alone at the final area.
Primary Spirits that have less slots or no slots have more base attack/defense.
use rock kirby
nothing can beat it
No seriously the final boss has literally nothing to deal with rock kirby so you can just transform if shits about to hit you and be fine. Kirby is busted against WoL in general.
So far Big Boss is the highest power I have. I think it may be because he's enhanced, and only has two slots.
His skill is situational though, just extra damage to metal opponents.
Nonetheless, 6190 attack and 5380 isn't bad, and two slots is good for at least getting hazard immunities
i think i had something similar, do both bad endings and check that you got the dojo on the way to drac's castle. i totally missed that there was even another path to get there
if that's not it at least searching through the dark world is quick, and if its not anywhere in there....
gl hf
God, I hate the Evil Mushrooms. Every time one spawns, I grab it and throw it off the stage immediately. It sucks that it has no effect on CPUs. You would think they would program some kind of fake "woah my controls are messed up, let me get used to this"
What's the deal with being unable to taunt online?
Sync issues?
Because not being able to pull off humiliating box damage and such is just unacceptable.
