What games are you guys focusing on right now? Do you enjoy it? Would you recommend it? I've been playing a lot of New Vegas, just beat Lonesome Road.
Just Cause 4. It's been a lot of fun. Kinda makes 3 obsolete, which is sad in a way. 3 took too many steps backwards from 2, but for the most part 4 has corrected those issues. It's a blast to just dink around as you roam around, and the missions have been really good as well.
All the games serious answer: Killing Floor 2 Titanfall 2 Warframe (more like Warfarm) Killing Floor 2 just got the M32 and Thompson back so that’s awesome. Titanfall 2 was on sale for like $7. I haven’t done competitive multiplayer, but the game overall is a lot better than I thought it would be. I was just expecting another jaded rehashed take on COD, but the campaign is actually good and the cooperative frontier defense mode is a great by itself since I’m finding competitive games not to be as fun as they once were. Warframe has enough released and upcoming expansions to have the content of at least like 3 different games combined. The grind is going to be a pain in the ass but also MESA AND REDEEMER PRIME! Hype has reached critical mass.
Smite has been my go to game for the past 6 and a half years now. Recently hit 1000+ hours on Steam (1500 if you count before it came to Steam). Has a bad reputation because of it both being a MOBA and a Hi-Rez game, but I think it's definitely a good game.
I've got a bit goin' on. Rock Band 3/4 Tony Hawk's Underground Pro Red Dead Redemption 2 Left 4 Dead 2 Team Fortress 2 Quake Champions
Shadowrun Returns: Hong Kong My second virtual Hong Kong
I overall enjoyed 3 but felt the entire game was the equivalent to one area in 2. What sort of steps did 4 correct over 3, do you think?
Should I look into Warframe? I've heard nothing but good things but I'm scared of the grind
The biggest positive thing 2 did was not forcing you to 100% complete every town/city/military base. There were hundreds of locations in that game, and typically you'd finish the story and be at like 55% completion on locations which meant there was a ton of stuff to go around blowing up post-story completion. Game could go on for as long as you desired. For some reason they decided in 3 that you needed to 100% complete every location to move the story ahead, so to ensure this wasn't an insurmountable or tedious task, they lowered the amount of total locations by an extreme amount. I don't know the exact number of location in each game but it's a large difference between 2 and 3. So like you said, 3 felt like a single area of 2 stretched out into a map of similar size. Medici feels super empty, especially when the upper half of the map is just military bases with no towns anywhere. And all the towns feel very cookie cutter or copy pasted versions of themselves. Doesn't feel realistic. 4 on the other hand has gone back to having tons of locations which you don't need to 100% complete to progress the story. You only need to take over the main military base of each region to push the front line. And even then there are some regions that don't have a base that you can take over just by owning the neighboring region. Most cities and towns feel unique, and there's something about them that is just more realistic than 3. There's soccer stadiums, gas stations and restaurants at all the freeway exits, favela type poorer areas within a few blocks of skyscrapers, just to name a few. And finishing a location isn't tied to chaos objects anymore, so all of those respawn which means even if you manage to complete everything you can still go around blowing crap up to your hearts content. tl;dr There's way more areas in 4 than in 3 and you don't have to complete them all to progress the story.
Just finished GRIS and was quite impressed that, for an artsy game, has actual decent gameplay and the presentation feels very modest. Most other games of similar genre love blasting their melodies and making statements such as "Look! You feeling the wanderlust and bittersweet? YOU FEELING IT?" on occasional beats. It rarely happens on GRIS, as you spend a lot more time in the middle pushing forward and solving puzzles while stopping for scenery at your leisure. Me like the pacing.
Cheers, sounds like I'll have to give 4 a go soon.
I have this plan to finish Assassin Creed games in release order and I recently continued this by buying Rogue, Unity and Syndicate. Rogue as you all surely know was the last AC game on the old engine. It definitely shows. I won't lie, I respect the ship gameplay Ubisoft created just for the AC games but at this point I feel like they rely too much on it to fill the game time. It's also not too complex so after three games I'm ready to take a break from it. One thing I noticed is in this title they finally sped up the progress how you get all your gadgets. 3 and even 4 still took a long time. Right now I'm playing Unity. Right off the bet I was pretty amazed how Paris looks. I guess it helps I run this game long after release on much powerful card than the one recommened on release. There are small glitches here and there but I didn't notice anything serious. The NPCs glitch a bit more but again nothing too crazy. I love and hate the gameplay changes. They added more stealth focus in this one and the combat feels more... intense I would say. Especially at the beginning fighting dudes was hard. AC games did need to toughen up though, 3, 4 and Rogue can literally be beaten without any character upgrades. But what bothers me is why they removed whistling when stealth seems to be given more focus in this one. And they removed taking a human shield when someone fires at you which I miss dearly. Can rate Unity yet but I'm mostly positive so far. Last thing, playing all these AC games... Unity is slightly better but since Ezio storyline I think they need to hire better writers.
Everspace. Got it free on GOG after buying another game for a friend. It's quite alright, sorta like first-person FTL, but certain objects can get samey. Never managed to make it to the end yet.
Mostly TF2, finishing out some borderlands games like the pre-sequel and getting ready for the modern jet combat in War Thunder.
On my main PC, I'm playing TF2/Kf2/League/Rocket League like usual, and recently restarted playing Fortnite (w/ 3 friends that really like it), Paladins, and Quake Champions. I also have Yakuza 0, Borderlands 2, which I boot up every now and then. I also have a GPD win 2 which is basically a portable gaming PC. On that I'm playing Enter the Gungeon, Re-Volt (trying to beat it and unlock everything, then I'm gonna check out the modding scene), gonna start playing my PSX loves again, namely Spyro 3, Toy Story 2, and UmJammer Lammy, and I have a few games I can start after those, like New Vegas, Oblivion, Deus Ex, Dungeon Keeper 2, Stonekeep, and Shovel Knight. I'm also gonna get around to finally getting Tony Hawk's Underground 2 PC, the fan-mod with all the previous levels, going on it. My only Switch game right now is Smash Ultimate, I just sold Splatoon 2, and since I'm not bothering with the shitty online until I know Nintendo can get it together, and I only really wanna play Ultimate competitively (going to tourneys with friends), it'll probably be a while until I touch it again, unless I get a sudden urge to do a complete go-through of WoL. Some other games I really wanna get into is basically any fighting game that has an active community. I own SFV, Tekken 6, Injustice 2, I'm probably gonna get MK11 when it comes out, I have Rivals of Aether, I've been trying JJBA Heritage for the Future for a while (though the community is shit which killed my interest in it), obviously I play Smash competitively, and while not technically a fighting game, Lethal League Blaze is a game I really like and might start practicing if I see some more updates, since it's lacking content beyond the (admittedly solid) base game. I really just need to learn the respective games, and now that Ultimate is out, maybe I'll finally get around to it. Not really sure which one to start with though, probably Heritage because I already know it mostly. I also have Skullgirls, great game, wish it still had a community though. Love just practicing combos with Beowulf and Fukua. Oh, and if anybody thinks this is a lot, I kept out games that I literally haven't touched in days. I've got at least 50 games installed on my main PC.
Good game, never played it but I watched a twitch streamer play it for hours and hours Same, I've been playing Mk10 a lot lately, super fun.
Gungeon is a great game, but its difficulty curve is ridiculous after beating High Dragun and going into Bullet Hell. No item drops after killing the Dragun AND barely any health or item drops just feels cruel
Garry's Mod Fistful of Frags CS:GO Grand Theft Auto IV & V And in hopes of returning to speedrunning, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 (NFS6). Speedrunning-wise I don't have a clue of any games I could try which don't require me to use an emulator because I don't have any consoles from 6th gen or below.
Sorry late response. I don't think the grind is the biggest thing to be afraid of, but the sheer amount of content in the game. There's a lot of things you just have to look up or find out for yourself. In fact there's so much freedom in how you can build your characters and weapons that it can kind of be overwhelming when just starting out. Probably the best thing to do would be to find some people willing to help you get started (which there is no shortage of). Overall I think it's worth it. The community is extremely helpful usually. The combat is great and makes you feel like an overpowered anime ninja with guns once you get the hang of it. The Developers are extremely involved with community feedback, work very hard, fix bugs within minutes, and make the greatest memes. Basically all you need to know summarized in one video without spoiling anything: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VuYCLelIO8
I just finished Subnautica, it was fantastic. Now I don't know what else to play. I'm kinda really in the mood for a sci-fi game like it but in space, but the closest thing that comes to mind is Rimworld which, while also fantastic, is an entirely different game
Forza Horizon 4 Skate 3 Burnout Paradise Remastered Titanfall 2
Smash. Lots and lots of Smash. Also Monster Hunter, TF2, Fortnite PvE, Terraria and Warframe.
Is Burnout Paradise remastered worth it? I got my elite license twice in the original. I love that game
I've been playing Into the Breach, it's a really addictive puzzle game!
