Is there a setting I'm not aware of? A cars steering is super sensitive because of the limited range of a stick in my experience. I never was able to go past dicking around in a map, it made actual racing and such impossible
There are tons of settings, but I just play with vanilla settings. There's a setting that allows you to reduce sensitivity at higher speed , similar to what you'd find in Gran Turismo etc.
But if you don't want to less with that, you just gotta get used to the sensitivity, and make sure you don't turn more than your wheels allow.
This wheel debug UI app I'm using in this video is a nice visual tool for making sure your wheels aren't slipping.

Beam.ng is one of my all-time favorite games. I have almost a thousand hours in just having fun. It satisfies the curious car-nut in me, without having to do any work to do an engine swap, turbo addition, suspension work, or even body work. It's realistic enough to be convincing. I wish it was vr compatible (and that I had a vr headset.)
The D-15 is my favorite. I have mine set up with some squishy tires, portal axles, and the diesel engine out of the bus. It's got enough torque to move the fully-loaded dry trailer.
My second favorite is the Moonhawk. I just love everything about it. My dad had Monte Carlos as I was growing up and it just hits that cord with me, especially with a big fat engine with the supercharger whine.

For some reason i've been getting this 100% of the time all of a sudden, anyone know how to fix this?
Might be related to this

is there a replay/render mode?
There is a replay mode, but I just play the game in 8x slow motion and do all the fancy blur shit manually
On a similar note, ever since I upgraded my gpu to an rx580, I've been having really bad spiking in the grass, and it's definitely a driver issue because there are forum workarounds. This is the only game that does it. So strange.
The graphics engine they use isn't exactly stellar, and probably causes the unique problems.
I don't know of anyone else using the Torque engine.
I wish they would have stayed with the cryengine, like their first public video i'm a sucker for how the lighting is in that engine.
Jumping to UE4 or even Unity would have been preferred, imo.
I still remember watching the Cryengine demo and buying the game on the spot, not knowing they switched to Torque. Still worth it.
Its crazy to believe BeamNG has been going since 2013.
Holy fucking shit they used the Torque engine??? I didn’t even know it still existed. In my mind it’s just for Marble Blast Gold and Think Tanks. You’re telling me the engine used for Beam.NG was also used for this:

That’s incredible!

Sick, official EVs. I might have to switch to the eSBR as my "main" for just cruising around.
The eSBR have no limit on the reverse gear so I managed to get it up to 250kmh backwards :V
Hah, wow, that's a bug that was in Big Rigs of all things.
---
On another note, damn, the eSBR handles like a dream, even compared to the other SBR4 models. Braking and turning at triple-digit speeds with the Hill Climb-Asphalt models (even the CRT one) is nigh-on impossible without a massive amount of space in front of you to coax them into it. I can appreciate that the eSBR's top model only maxes out at 160 MPH (30 MPH lower than the HCA models), but the amount of control you retain even at absolute max speed and how easily and quickly you can reign it back in without spinning out or otherwise losing control is unreal; it almost feels like you're playing a more arcadey racer like Distance rather than having to take the care you'd usually take in this game.
I don't actually drive, but if this is how easily actual EVs handle compared to their ICE counterparts, then we're in for a pretty cool future.
... It's not a bug, it's just how an electric car works if not purposedly limited.
It only has 1 gear, and reverses polarity when going backwards (D and R are the same gear, mechanically), so it can reach similar speeds both ways, although aerodynamically unstable when going backwards of course.
Ah, I see. That makes sense. I thought he just meant that they forgot to program in an upper limit to the reverse for this car in terms of the game itself.
@Paul-Simon , i need you to do the new Gymkhana time trial on Italy. And Record it. And then show it.
With any particular car?
A fast one! Something AWD?
The new 6.0 diesel for the truck is really nice, a good replacement for the modded bus engine I had in it. It sounds nice too, and the animated pullies are really really cool. The new exhaust muffling system they have is a good start but not as dramatic as I expected, when the exhaust falls off a real car it's deafening.
This is a difficult map haha
Oh wow, there's more than two left turns? Shit, i never make it that far ...
You douldn't do well in NASCAR then..
Tried doing a water skip forward first but it kinda stopped too early. thankfully it's stupid reverse gear made this possible.

Wanted to give this a shot too. Took me several attempts just to even get near your time but I managed to pull this one out of my ass
