Any news on what the price of Iceborne might be?
The likelihood is 40 to full, since it's basically a new biome + +2 rarity + [numbers of monsters + AT tier] + tie-ins.
anybody else have an issue where the delivery for a camp just wont appear? i started a 2nd char and i was supposed to get the delivery for the northeast camp in ancient forest (the one where you then immediately fight a kulu), but i just now realized 5-6 hours later it never actually gave me the delivery. i went back to the camp area to see if approaching it would give me it, but that didnt either. the NE camp is given in a story quest too so its kinda hard to not get it.

These crossovers are starting to get out of hand really good.
Whether it's perfectly balanced or not, anyone find the "stunned" mechanic ungodly annoying?
I don't really have too many problems with it unless the monster can follow up with a kill and I don't really get that too often unless I'm fighting AT elders. On the topic of annoying mechanics, I really fucking hate being dropped off at a random location instead of the camp I chose. It doesn't serve any purpose since I can just fast travel to the camp I wanted immediately.
It's not perfectly balanced, it's lolrandumb artificial difficulty. If it was "perfectly balanced" there would be very few complaints. See: Dragon's Dogma.
I wouldn't mind it anywhere near as much if it wasn't so seemingly random and varying between monsters. It's only really required for certain monsters, but I typically run stun resistance on all my general or defensive builds.
Doesn't you only get stunned when getting hit too many times/debuffed? Some attacks have a higher "stun damage" e.g. Azure fireballs, so I think it's fairly balanced and encourage hunters try to learn and dodge attacks. It's not like there is no counter play to this mechanics though, and it's very easy to get the stun resistance skill when compared to older games.
I can't live without steadfast 3. Even if stuns only happen once or twice a fight they invariably result in my death.
If it felt like it worked like that it'd be fine. Some times its like my hunter is a boxer and can go 43 rounds with Mike Tyson unloading into his face. Other times its like my hunter has the sudden realization that he may have left the stove on at home and has a small panic attack.
Exactly this. Especially when all your brain can do is think "omgg hurry heal heal heal heeaaalll >={" and the game decides the player is gonna swirl around like a dicktard when you're one hit away from wasting a continue. Even when you break out of the stun after 3 years, you have to hit your hands together as if to say "Yeah I'm normal again!" which just takes up more. why
I think it depends on the attack, but it's been fairly consistent for me.
I don'r like getting stunned because I feel like I'm going to break my controller thumbstick (and did with a more cheaper xbox controller)
Nothing more irritating than needing four max rank skills to not be constantly interrupted in a hunt by the stunned condition, being blown away by wind pressure, rocked around by tremors, or deafened by monster roars.
You should never need to max all of those for one hunt. Hell you really don't need to max any of them ever. Every time I get stunned I realize it's always because I'm playing like an idiot.
I don't see what the problem is, these systems have been a part of MH for years to decades, they're easy enough to avoid without needing skills. It might be elitist of me but if you're needing more than one of those for a hunt that's your own bad playing. The only one i ever use regularly is Earplugs and just so i can get some extra swings in with my Hammer, but i don't need it.
Except that screaming, air pressure, and ground tremors are all completely unavoidable and have absolutely nothing to do with personal skill. I don't even run any of those decos, I just find it particularly irritating that roughly 40% of a fight with a monster is spent with my hunter cowering because of loud noises. Like fuck, remember the greatest jagras? I spent more time covering my ears and dragging myself along the ground due to tremors than I did actually picking up decos or fighting.
For some weapons, yes, they can be tough to deal with, but they're never unavoidable. All of them can be dodged with proper roll timing with all weapons, but some of the longer roars do require Evasion Window. You can also block all of them with a guard and can counter them all with the longsword. That's 6 weapons (both guard and shoulder tackle GS, CB, Lance, GL, SnS, and LS) that can deal with them easily without a single skill, but stronger roars require a higher guard. 7 if you equip the proper HH. I don't think the HBG shield mod does, but never messed with it enough to know.
Yeah I don't actually use any of those weapons.
Roars can be blocked or rolled through with weapons out, as Opeth said, but part of learning a monster is getting a feel as to when and why it'll roar and knowing to superman dive to avoid it, not to mention none of the monsters in World are as bad with roars are previous monsters. Air pressure isn't nearly as big of a problem in World has it has been in the past imo and most weapons have a move with armor you can use to juke it, alternately use Dragon Pods and Dragonseal more. Tremors are annoying i'll agree but they rarely last long enough to give me much of a bother. Not that i haven't gotten killed by it or anything, i just don't see it as much of an issue in most situations. Stuns you can mash out of no problem and monsters you know will stun more are easy to work around with resistances, nullberries, etc.
This is not and never will be an excuse for any design choice, pro or con.
It's not an "excuse," it's a system and like any other system it can be worked around and adjusted to, as it has been for years to decades.
Imagine whining about debuffs, stuns, and roars in the easiest MH yet.
Imagine being elitist about which version of the game you joined in on.
Considering how much you whined in the ME3 thread about Platinum Diff, no comment. 'Rolling through a stun' is entirely conditional on a sliding set of variables, and it's broadly unliked and has been broadly unliked for a long long time, not just world.
Is there any monster that can actually stun in one hit?
Not seeing much of a point in this comment. It doesn't matter if a game is easier or not, if something is annoying, it's annoying.
as someone who has played tri, P3rd, 4U, Gen and GenU: *ahem* FUCK stuns
