So do I and I don't so either you're getting hit by explosions or knockups or you're getting hit by something else.
Confirmed my gem set. FF1 is in it. Its actually not knocks I checked again. It's full on tripping where you fall to your knees. I think it's only large attacks like TCS, SAED, and lance charge. But it still is 100% possible to get tripped by players that aren't GL or BG. I notice it more because these attacks commonly go for the head where I'm at.
It is because those attacks aren't flinches
Combos should always start with charge 1 tbh, the speed, mobility, extra height, and being able to combo straight back into it is too good to not use.
Thats what I've been saying all along... people were acting like I said FF is useless. It most definitely is not, and you'll notice quickly without it. But playing with randoms, I notice trips plenty often. DB and LS are actually preferable to some of the heavy hitters when you have FF, since they don't have trip attacks(Unless LS's helm breaker can, I don't think I've ever seen it do it though) Thats a good tip on the charge 1. Never occurred to me to use that charge simply for the armor. Makes hitting the golfswing more difficult though. Does it keep super armor past the first two strikes as long as you keep the combo going? Cause it's the three slam combo that comes after those I'm usually hit out of without starting a lvl1 swing.
I mean, if you are getting tripped by your teammates constantly you can also switch your playstyle and only use the moves that has super armor in multiplayer. Only use Charged 2 and Charged 3 in the open, and do Charge 1 -> Charged Follow Up -> Big Bang Combo when the monster is downed. All these moves have super armor so you shouldn't have to worry about getting tripped. Be careful about the knockup on Charge 2 though.
I have hammer down pretty well after 500 hunts with it, but didnt know charge 1's super armor applied to the whole combo. Most of the high end monsters move around too much to finish the 5 hit instead of the 3 which is why I preferred that instead.
Shit I've used hammers extensively but, I never knew the Charge 1 into Big Bang was a thing. I've mostly been spamming Charge 2's aimed at the head (for closing the distance and quickly)
No layered armor for AT Lunastra? Laaaaaame
I have been doing some testing lately and confirmed a couple of premises: HH blaze can indefinitely extend palico songs using all melody effects extended. Palico songs remain even if more then 2 people join the quest. Palico buffs remain active even if you swap sets Palico cooldowns can be cancelled by swapping palico gear and then reselecting the relevant song. I still need to confirm whether its possible to have the third player maintain the buffs but it should work. Having the palico atk/aff up song + HH atk XL songs allows for some ludicrous EFR. The picture below is an example of having nearly all palico buffs active. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/261449/f83dc1ed-0c25-479e-8eca-b5d78fef735d/Untitled.png Would any of you have any info on the following premises of dubious reliability from fextra wiki?: the Palico avoids playing for buffs that are already in effect. Palico avoids playing buffs that are already active. Palico avoids using health boost if you are at full hp and have used a max potion. Charge 2 in to big bang is pretty good. the only downside is that the high KO rate on it can sometimes push a monster away during a knockdown and cause you to whiff. Its not really charge 1 in to big bang though: Its charge 1 + either the side bash or the heavy left>right swing and then big bang combo. Which is why charge 2 in to big bang is pretty competitive from a DPS perspective.

Capcom is beinning to roll out the 15th anniversary stuff. There's a new render of Fatalis on the Japanese website and a promo mage showing all the major flagship monsters so far. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110703/6db5057b-a38c-4fab-aa70-f14a23e58528/Fatalis.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110703/b734ceed-7577-439c-9262-1d84a198a4a2/1552354383344.jpg Note that before you get excited, these are all merely promotional images and not confirmation that they'll be in Iceborne.
Given the negrocougar is in Iceborne, which means it's a literal snap meshwise speaking to have tigrex in Iceborne and that the images above are done by the resident Final Concepter for MHW, don't to be surprise if a large chunk of the them end up in, especially if Capcom treats Iceborne as G-rank.
Curious that they'd include Fatalis among the flagship monsters, given it wasn't a flagship itself. Any of them (preferably all of course) would be great additions to Iceborne, especially Gore Magala and Zinogre, those are among my favorite fights.
Is that Glavenus?
that's a nice ice motif at the bottom there hmmm
Yep. Monster Hunter, Monster Hunter G, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd, Monster Hunter Freedom: Rathalos Monster Hunter 2: Kushala Daora Monster Hunter Portable 2nd, Monster Hunter Freedom 2: Tigrex Monster Hunter Hunter Portable 2nd, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite: Nargacuga Monster Hunter 3, Monster Hunter Tri: Lagiacrus Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD: Zinogre Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate: Brachydios Monster Hunter 4: Gore Magala Monster Hunter 4G, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Seregios Monster Hunter X, Monster Hunter Generations: Glavenus, Astalos (Absent), Mizutsune (Absent), Gammoth (Absent) Monster Hunter XX, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate: Valstrax, Bloodbath Diablos (Absent) Monster Hunter World: Nergigante
Tbh for me and some of my friends, when we thing about the big fights of MH, Fatalis is one of the first things that comes to mind, so maybe that's what they're going for.

I just got MHW for PC after having not played the game for roughly a year now since I got it on my PS4. What happened to the kickback emote? Wasn't that in the game? I could've sworn that was in the game when I played the PS4 version and would just have my character slam back on her ass and arms behind supporting the body upwards while just waving the legs left to right after alot of hunts playing with a friend. Am I going nuts? Booted up the PS4 version to see the emote isn't there either. I know some of you guys are probably wondering what's the big deal, but ye see this is my number 1 most used emote since MH3U if I remember if it was in 3. And I would ritualistically do it after successful hunts, other emote being prance which is still there, whew.
Meh, motherfucking GUNLANCE MECHA FIST deserves to win. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107008/c0c104d6-2869-4ae2-9f8b-b44c74a342ee/image.png
Witcher 3 collaboration is coming to PC May 9th, what a goddamn wait, I really hope to god that Iceborne doesn't have a delayed release for PC.
I think it's already been confirmed it will.
Yep. and at a later date for the pc
I've managed to cheese AT Xeno with pierce HBG, but I seem completely unable to dunk her using the melee weapons that I usually prefer. I survived the full 30 minutes with a charge blade build and still couldn't kill her. I don't know how to deal with all the moving around; it completely stumps me when she is jumping to the other end of the map or just decides to be a dick and fly around.
I got the Y set using JhoClaws and combo of Vaal Y and Behemoth armor, i use the flying time as a regen point. If you plan on doing continual DPS, a regular bow is the long term choice.
I grab piercing pods, or whatever she drops, and shoot her out of the air. When shes on the ground i just spam the super element amped attack with my CB. Tremor resistance is pretty important for the fight.
I've managed to do it once with piercing pods, but only after damaging her chest first. Do you attempt to reach the head and chest with SAED, or keep pounding the front paws? I've been trying to AED the chest for that juicy trip while she's critical, but maybe I'm wasting too much time and should be focusing on just spamming SAED wherever possible?
