N64 and GBA is what I can think of.
Another Switch port, this time from a THQ game for the Gamecube.

Wow that's really out of fucking left field
I like how you can tell that this is an early 2000s game just by how it looks like a mix of Jak and Daxter and Vexx, except it's Egyptian.
THQ Nordic's current gameplan is doing whatever the hell they feel like and hoping they keep breaking even.
Oh shit yes, I loved this game back on Gamecube. It really needed a sequel though, because it feels like it just ends halfway through the story.
It's actually not a bad game, I played it on the PS2 originally back in the day. It's a good action adventure game. There's a pleasant mix of combat and puzzling much like Zelda.
However it looks like they haven't bothered upping the graphics in any way at all. I was hoping for a remaster-lite like what Nightdive did with Turok. Literally looks exactly as I remember it.
Got another underappreciated remix dump. This user only gets triple-digit views for most of their content, but they deserve way more. I've legitimately never heard a better rendition of Zoness, officially or otherwise:

I'd love a SM64DS port that doesn't have to fuck with all the dumb shit gimmicks Nintendo crammed down its throat to hammer it in that "THIS IS THE NINTENDO DS LOOK AT ALL THE DS THINGS THE DS CAN DO HOW DO YOU LIKE CONTROLLING A PRECISION PLATFORMER WITH A FUCKING STYLUS" because once you get past the control scheme it's an amazing game and worthy expansion of the original.
I'm not actually that surprised given that there's one or two other PS2 era platformers ported to the Switch already.
I dont remember being forced to use the screen controls except in minigames
Finally. A crown fit for a king.
The game has digital controls, too. The analog was optional outside of the minigames that came with it.
The biggest problem with Mario 64DS is having to control the cast with a d-pad, and requiring a run button. Also some slight art direction missteps, but I feel like all of these things could be addressed
and fixed in a remaster of sorts.
I actually really liked his minimalist/simplified redesign.. Did he delete that video?
I really hope they add a GBA emulator to switch. All I want is Wario Land 2-4 on Switch. The things a beefed up GBA anyway.
Being able to replay a number of GBA games on the Switch would be soooo nice. I'd love to play the Fire Emblem games again on this thing.
Anyone know where's the best place to get n64 controllers? I've had success with gamestop in the past but I'm concerned that I'll just get one with a bad stick.
i just got a cheap switch to resell, and have noticed the power cord is american (live in aus)
is there any region differences between switch models? as far as i can find there seems to be only one switch model for the world
Not really. They ported it to PC pretty recently so it's not too surprising that they'd take the time to work on a switch version while they were at it.
I didn't even know that lol
Even though I know it isn't going to happen; I'd really like if they made these Classic Services a thing of their own and make the online free. The services would assuredly make a shit ton more than any of the Classic plug n plays. I doubt it'll happen, but it'd be really nice considering the current state of their online service.
IMO making online multiplayer for any game (bar some F2P ones) on a console require a paid subscription is a shitty, greedy business practice no matter who does it, whether it be Nintendo for their P2P servers and poor netcode, or even the ones that put a little more "effort" into their services like Microsoft, especially now that consoles are typically no longer sold at a loss and server upkeep is cheaper and easier than ever.
I feel like some of my siblings that defend Nintendo's paid online service either aren't aware of the technicalities or context of how Nintendo's currently doing their online compared to other online services like Steam, or are just massive fucking fans of Nintendo to the point of not giving a shit about any of their flaws.
Not sure how many people care (and I use care rather freely here as honestly it's not a big deal) but Luigi's socks being edited in that piece of art is bizarre. I don't recall if I commented when it was first pointed out but I just kinda shrugged it off.
But no in the intro to the BiS remake he loses his shoe and they're still the goofy red and white striped ones from his GBA artwork so like... why did they edit that art then? I thought they were just killing that little artistic detail but no it's alive and well.
What's with the art in general looking so fucking bizarre and off model??

The in game sprite work and new music is fantastic but the promo artwork looks like a colossal trainwreck compared to what they usually manage.
(I love the art style of the M+L games so it bugs me)
I'm pretty sure the only difference for different regions is the charger itself, otherwise the switch doesn't care what region it's in.
I agree that hiding Luigi's stripped socks is a bizarre change but I don't see what you mean by off model? The shadows are more harsh than they usually are but I think that's more of a preference than
anything.
