Luigi's shoulders not existing, Bowsers face and hands. Starlow somehow looks off despite being just a circle. Luigi in general just looks kinda weird.
Maybe it's more clear with other recent artwork but it just looks really *off* to me compared to earlier pieces.

Bowser's face esp looks weird. Kinda looks like he's melting when you compare it to older art

his jaw looks like it's disconnected instead of facing the way his head is
switch isn't region locked so slap on one of your own aus chargers on it and go crazy.
Best couch coop non-mario game?
Overcooked 2, Snipperclips and Towerfall depending on what kind of game you're looking for.

Kinda bizarre to have an event about this, but whatever I guess.
Guess the fitness gaming culture from the Wii days is still alive and well. Kinda happy to see that.
No joke, at my job we were printing of a large schedule calendar for what I can assume is a retirement home or a hospital of some sort.
On that schedule was playing "Wii Golf" and "Wii Bowling". Once a week on different days at least.
This basically implies that just over a decade after its release, the Wii still has some use somewhere, and there are still people playing Wii Sports on it.
The Wii was a massive success for Nintendo and left a decent sized cultural impact, but I think we forget sometimes just how massive it was. It's probably been the only game console that basically appeals to all audiences in some way, even those who don't game. I really don't think there will ever be another console that will be able to match what the Wii set out to do.
Yeah, the PS2 sold more, but the non gaming audience mostly just bought it as a DVD player. There was no merging of audiences like there was with the Wii.
Anyone whose experienced any Kirby media knows that a skeleton goes against every physical characteristic Kirby has. I would expect the ideal design of him to just be one pink blob with the properties of taffy with some Eldritch-like Void in the center powering him.
Partly why I wish the Wii U did better, because I wanted to see the concept evolve for all those people, too. Just the opportunity to get a standardized Wii MotionPlus and HD into all their hands (seriously, one of their biggest blunders was not packing in a Wiimote Plus with the system). Yeah, Switch has all those same capabilities, but those people really don't care about the Switch like they did the Wii and potentially could've the Wii U had Nintendo actually made it at all visible.
Doesn't the 3DS version of Mario Maker kinda suck from what I've heard? Like, the best thing about it is apparently the huge pack of pre-made levels so you can pretend it's a de-facto New Super Mario Bros. 3.
Heads up if you get the Bowsers Inside Story remake, I have it physical and the thing has crashed twice while doing Juniors dumb journey mode. It also has a handful of visual glitches here and there.
This was clearly very quickly put together. The sprite work and music is good but oof. Glad it auto saves in this mode.
Apparently, according to VGchartz, the Switch sold 1.5 million units on the week just before Christmas. At 1,492,255, that's more than the Vita (4,448), 3DS (198,384), Xbox One (475,809) and PS4 (778,852) combined, despite the PS4 being on track to outsell the Wii.
Someone explain what just happened cause holy shit.
Switching shields seems to reset Link's to blocking, allowing you to parry again without the cooldown.
Must probably be done at a specific moment of the animation, probably when the parry hits.
As much as I love the Switch, my inner Vita fan feels a bit heart broken to see the Vita doing so bad

Shortly after the Wii came out, this network of seniors' homes organized a multi-site Wii Bowling tournament. The Wii and DS generation was a peak in console adoption in non-traditional markets, because Nintendo offered natural input options and a wider spread of games that appealed across markets. Like fucking when would Sony ever release a game similar to Brain Age? Hell, the Wii even saw diving simulator Endless Ocean and its sequel, chill games that appealed to a completely different audience than your traditional Mario or Zelda title.
The Wii dominated its generation because it was the gaming console for everyone, not just for hardcore gamers who need the next Gears of War or God of War title. It's a shame that Nintendo completely fucked marketing the WiiU because it could've continued this dynasty and carried momentum all the way into the Switch generation. Especially since the Switch is meant to be a hybrid console of sorts, portable like no other TV console.
And let's not forget that Just Dance is still supporting the Wii in every new title after all this time.
I really don’t like the fact that I have to pay basically full price for Travis Strikes Again just for them to maybe make NMH3, when it barely looks like it passes for a fucking $15 XBLA game
I don't know what the fuck possesses developers to keep going "buy this shitty spin-off you don't want and maybe we'll make the game you actually want".
Travis Strikes Again is a game you release one year after No More Heroes 3 to hold people over while NMH 4 is made, not when fans have been waiting nearly a decade for the sequel to come out.
This is the same reason (though not as bad) why people trashed stuff like Artifact and Diablo Immortal. You can't mess with people's expectations like that.
Or Federation Force, which likely wouldn't have received such a (righteously) disgusted reaction if we had known about Metroid Prime 4 or Samus Returns in advance.
Fuck Yeah Chibi Robo Zip Lash!!!!!!!!!!
Ironically, I think Federation Force was necessary in Kensuke Tanabe's eyes in order for Metroid Prime 4 to be made, since he wanted a game that focused on the Federation before one that focused on Sylux/Samus.
