Retro had to be working on something else before this, if they were I wonder if we will see that this year.
Does anyone know how to get the Nyko gamecube controller adapter to work with dolphin im pulling my hair out.
I did some quick searches on the issue and most of my findings were people with the same problem, yet no solution.
That's cool, but there's already some inconsistencies that have been pointed out in that list.
Ryan Harris was not director on Prime 1. The Prime Trilogy had the same game director across all three games, and that was Mark Pacini. Mark Pacini left Retro after Prime 3 and was one of the founders of Armature Studio. His last role as game director was for ReCore.
Ryan Powell was also not lead artist. That was Todd Keller, who left Retro after Prime 3 and was also a founder of, you guessed it, Armature Studio. Ryan Powell was a Senior Artist on Prime 3 though, and was an art lead on the recent DK games.
I get the point of the list (to show that some veterans from Prime are still at Retro), but some basic research would've been nice before posting it.
The question is what exactly can they do that's new for Prime 4 in terms of gameplay?

Apparently, someone on twitter did some concepts for a Cyberpunk Zelda setting.

I've actually never played the Metroid Prime series, so if this happens I'll definitely check it out so I can finally see what all the fuss is about.
The only Metroid game I've played is Other M. Terrible, I know.
It's an odd sort of transparency to see from Nintendo admitting they gotta start over on a project instead of just radio silence.
Makes sense to delay a Prime Trilogy announcement if you're also planning on announcing a restart of development; the restart news I think would have been taken more negatively if it was mentioned after, whereas now the Trilogy port could be announced as a sort of consolation prize.
I was hoping with the rumors of the Prime Trilogy, they would announce it now (or soon) as a good will gesture to the community. However I can also see a scenario where they want the releases to coincide in the same year as a sort of 'year of metroid'. If that's the case then I imagine we won't see it for another 2-3 years.
If that were the case, I think people would expect some graphical enhancements. I don't see Wii Graphics going over so well in 2023.
I dunno, I've seen Metroid Prime 1 in Dolphin running at 720-1080p and it holds up pretty damn well as far as I'm concerned.
I imagine the a switch port would have graphical enhancements similar to Twilight Princess or Wind Waker HD. I don't think there's a world where we're getting a full remaster.
The two obvious additions are dual stick controls and gyro aiming.
The Switch has enough buttons to move beam switching away form the second stick and onto one of the bumpers (press/hold and move stick to select), so having a dual stick control set up makes sense, especially given it's a modern standard for console FPS design nowadays, and there's no awkwardly sized second stick to worry about like with the GC. Would also come with probably a faster pace to the game's combat with more nimble enemies, seeing as your aim is more free since it's also not tied to the same stick you use to move around.
Gyro aim would then be used to refine aiming in addition to the dual stick aim. Think less Prime 3 style pointer aiming (which would be horrible with gyro only), and more Splatoon's aiming but in first person. This could be used to better aim at certain weak points or other similar elements.
Other than that, I wouldn't be surprised to see the return of some motion control gimmicks like in Prime 3, but I personally would hope not. At the very least, if they do return, make them more than just a gimmick ability.
Metroid Prime Trilogy on Dolphin with Wii Remote and Nunchuk emulated by mouse and keyboard makes quite the unique experience. It felt completely natural, IMO.
gimme big viking samus back

Why not 1-Revelations?
i don't know why anyone would be worried about retro's ability to make a game after tropical freeze. you could give them literally any series and they'd make the best game in the franchise
best buy is having a sale on pro controllers for $56.99 ( us)
amazon is price matching.
Several key people who worked on the Metroid Prime Trilogy are no longer at Retro. I still have faith in Retro making MP4 a good game but I can see where some concerns are coming from.
Reminder: Spend any remaining Wii Shop points you may have and save any games you don't have on your system to an SD card, as the shop closes tonight!
This likely will also affect your ability to upgrade games from Wii to Wii U, and will also make any transfers from Wii to Wii U impossible.
the pro controller is smaller than i thought

Shit that is fucking awesome.
Japanese controllers, the DS4 included, are smaller than American ones because Japanese people have smaller hands on average
whenever i saw people holding a pro controller it looked bigger and more like an xbox controller.
i guess people just have small hands, because i have big hands and i enjoy the feel of the ps2/ps3 controller, and the pro controller is the same size and profile as those controllers.
I'm getting some serious deja vu with this conversation. Haha.
