Super Smash Bros. General v22: Colors Weave into a Spire of Flame

the peach bot in the pauline spirit fight just blocks/dodges the missile its really annoying. and thats if you can even kill dk/mario fast enough before time runs out
I mentioned this a few days ago, but use the Staff. Two or three shots at the start of the round is an instant win.
I'm still enjoying World of Light despite its length, although the fact that I have to beat it to unlock the ability to change the menu music has turned it into a bit of a chore. Every time I play the game I feel obligated to play a bit just so I can get closer to that goal. I'm sick of Lifelight and just want to hear Menu 2 already, darn it!
Unpopular opinion
World of Light was a lot more fun than Subspace, but for different reasons.
if World of Light had bits like Subspace where you traverse levels in between the spirit battles, but have the levels styled after different Nintendo IPs, it'd be a godsend.
It felt like there wasn't much variety in gameplay besides the menial overworld dungeons
You screencap this, but not Chrom being mistranslated by Google as Chrome.
Ok, you know what? Forget about getting a GC controller for Ultimate. Just got my hands on a Pro controller of my own, and immediately it's probably the most comfortable controller I've ever held.
The handgrip material is top notch, the build feels solid, the sticks are topped with the perfect design for mashing and quick flicks, the face buttons are the perfect size, even the Dpad feels good.
The dpad is actually the one bad thing about it. Even if you only press the edge of the dpad, you'll trigger diagonals if you're off center.
Oh I'm used to that. That's actually a desirable trait in some fighting games, weirdly enough, since it can make "rolling" inputs like quarter circles or 180s a lot easier to execute without having to use the stick, which has its own set of problems for input-based fighters.
Pokemon Trainer is REALLY fun.
Ivysaur is amazing, and mixing up into a Charizard Flare Blitz always catches people off guard.
I just wish I knew how to play with Squirtle and his tiny hitboxes.
I'm having lots of trouble with accidentally inputting tilts when I'm trying to smash attack. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I keep catching myself trying to smash attack with the right stick which I obviously shouldn't be doing.
I wish we had the option to set each individual stick to either tilt or smash ONLY.

Stage status: BANNED.
Win’t be surprised if it did.
Now that I think about it, I'm not even sure how I'm supposed to be inputting attacks since I'm pretty thoroughly clueless when it comes to controls. I thought A only did jabs for the first 24 hours I had the game and I was only inputting attacks with the right stick. Should I just unbind the stick entirely, even though my A+left stick attacks are horribly inconsistent?
So uhh, yeah, even with stale moves on, CPU shuffling at max, and CPU level 9 set o attack, I can still seem to 0-death anybody with "walking" PK Fire and a bat at the end. Look at the combo. Why.

You gotta push the left stick all the way quickly + A, like if you're actually smashing the left stick. So as soon as the left stick touches the edge you press A.
Pushing the stick any less will do a tilt instead.
I just discovered that B+A can be used as smash, is that a decent idea?
I swear the hardest part about playing a character is deciding on the perfect alt/color.
Just use whatever you're comfortable with. Although if you use AB you're still gonna have to mash the stick for up/down smashes either way.
The purple one
The orange one
The one that changes their model
These three apply to almost the entire cast
You can change the right analog to either do Tilt Attacks or Smash Attack. You can also change the sensitivity of the stick so you don’t keep making tilt/smash attack maitakes.
I peraonally use the right stick for Smash with high sensitivity stick.
Fun tidbit: Despite appearances, Smashville and Wario Land are asymmetrical stages in Brawl and presumably later games.
Wario Land is shifted horizontally by less than 5 units, Smashville's collisions are inconsistent on the left and right sides for some oversight reason.
man I'd kill for a wario land stage
it's criminal how underrepresented wario land is in smash
we deserve the best character as an assist trophy

We deserve a new Wario Land game. With playable Waluigi.
This isn't the case in real game, if your opponent knows to Smash DI (which I'm sure the CPU doesn't do)

At least, I've consistently gotten out of PK fire spam before the 3rd one hits by doing this.
What crawled up your ass recently? All you've been doing for the past day in the thread is complaining about other people talking about swordfighters and WoL
WoL is a slog with almost every fight being a one sided battle, typically in the player's favor. The few fights that aren't brain-dead easy are just unenjoyable, there's nothing fun about getting gang-banged by CPU's or chasing one all over the stage while under a time limit. Spirits are almost pointless, unless you like collecting them I suppose. Once I found a high tier spirit for each slot I never saw a reason to replace them (stage hazards aside). Some parts were cool like Dracula's Castle or Gourmet Race, but the rest of the board was just totally uninteresting and forgettable. Cutscenes would have helped out a lot as an actual incentive to keep playing. I played through WoL just so I can say I've experienced it as a whole, but now that it's over I am in no rush to return to it.
The rest of the game is really fun tho
thank you, opinion police. people are allowed to like or dislike anything they want for any reason they want, and they don't need your approval to do so
