Super Smash Bros. General v22: Colors Weave into a Spire of Flame

I'm still pissed off that they didn't add Dark Samus theme from Echoes/ Corruptions, but instead gave us a remix of Parasite Queen.
Diddy, ZSS, Falcon, Sheik, and Greninja are all great aerial chracters.
Try Marth, Fox and Diddy specifically, based on whether you prefer control, aggression, or combos, respectively.
ROB's a pretty fantastic aerial character with a lot of variety as well. Villager's a bit tricky, but his side air and side b will probably be the most horizontal you can get.
I still haven't seen Cloud since I've started playing ultimate, I actually forgot he was in the game until today lol
I think they're saving prime music for when they add Sylux.
I ran into a couple of Clouds online this week, plus I've seen ZeRo and Nairo occasionally rock him in their streams.
He's still a solid character, just not as oppressive as he was in Smash 4.
Which is such a relief. He's such a fun all-around character. Limit-break is still one of my favorite additions to the game, it offers different playstyles on its own (charge-heavy delay vs. all-out aggressive play and how they use their limit-breaks). He's also a sword character with a shitty recovery, which is a blessing.
Oppressive =/= Good
Oppressive = Makes other characters unplayable
i just don't want something like what happens with Luigi which moves like a snail horizontally while jumping ultra high (i know that's his thing but it fucks with everything I'm accostumed to) or who might lose their momentum instantly as soon as they leave the ground and not move at all
This might be why I could pick up characters like Falcon, Lucina or Greninja like said above and do alright without practice, I guess I'll try those out and the rest too
This felt good

Smash Ultimate is probably the most fun I've had with a game in months but consistently the one sour spot on the whole experience for me is just how bad Bayo feels now. I get she needed to be nerfed, but it feels so hard to get the simplest things down now with just how laggy every single move in her entire set is.
Bayonetta is one of my favorite games of all time so I plan to try and stick with her in hopes things get better but I won't lie and say she's not been one of the most frustrating characters I've tried playing online...
Yeah I tried to play Bayo vs a friend and she feels absolutely fucking terrible. She feels like a Brawl character put into Melee in just how sluggish and awful she is.
Megaman feels better in Smash Ultimate, leaf shield is no longer useless and his buster has some serious range now. I'm still pretty shit with him so I need to figure him out.
I never tried to learn any of Bayonetta's combos and techniques in Smash 4, so to me she's always been kind of weird and frustrating to play. Hopefully she'll eventually become viable like much of the rest of the cast.
Bayo needed to be sluggish, but it also looks like they made it so her combos struggle to connect as well. The best case scenario for balance should have been that her combos were free once you landed one of her starters, but she struggled to connect the first hit and the combos couldn't bullshit kill off the top at 0%. She was oppressive in 4 in large part because her framedata was rediculous for a character who got so much off of every hit.
If y'all have had trouble with the Donkey Kong and Lady spirit battle, or are planning to fight it tomorrow, i can't recommend enough the loadout I used to beat it.
Use Snake with as many Shooting Attack+ supports you have, on a primary with either the same or with Giant Killer. Soma Cruz is a good pick that can net you around 14,000 power which you'll need.
Then just use his Nikita to follow the DK around the stage and harass him until he dies. He'll dodge and hang on to ledges a whole lot and never stop moving but because you're staying put and using minimal inputs he won't hunt you down like a level 9 CPU monster.
I know it's half-joking, but if Sylux ends up being cool in Prime 4, I'm totally fine with Nintendo adding them. I mean, who else could they add as a Metroid representative that isn't even less relevant? The series isn't exactly knowing for its vast cast of memorable characters.
If we do get Sylux though, we better also get Dixie Kong. And hell, I'd be up for Cranky Kong and even DK. Jr as a lighter weight Echo of DK. If we get multiple years of DLC, Nintendo's core franchises beyond Mario and Pokemon need more love - I don't want us to get 15-20 third party characters and not a single first party rep.
We don't need 50 Donkey Kong echos. Give us Dixie with a completely unique moveset and Funky as either a DK alt costume ala male WFT or an echo with distinct differences, and the DK series will be set for years to come.
Funky Kong echo would be so cool. I really enjoy DK's moveset but a more Chrom-esque echo to add a twist to the moveset would be really cool. Maybe instead of slapping his hands on the ground for the down+b he can play a boombox that creates soundwaves similar to DK's bongos but more suitable for a basic move.
if echoes save for Ken really are just fancy alt skins with no intended gameplay differences I dont see any problem having a lot of them as long as they're free patches or a DLC pack of like 10 that are separate from the DLC slots for real fighters
They aren't, Lucina and Dark Pit are echoes even though Dark Pit has differently-working neutral and side specials and Lucina has a completely different gameplay design (no sweetspot), and Chrom is an echo even though he has a completely different up-special from Roy's
Did they actually count the pre-ultimate similars as echoes? Weird.
I've heard Daisy, Richter, and Dark Samus are all fancy skins
iirc dark samus has electricity effects on her moves where regular samus would have fire. that makes it perform differently albeit in a small way. but yea, daisy and richter are basically koopaling/alpha skins which makes you wonder why the inconsistency
also D.Samus has a bigger hitbox, faster roll, better upsmash, but worse fmash
Guess I just had bad info from looking it up during launch weekend
Daisy has different hurtboxes because of her animations for crouching, idle and running, but also has a smaller hurtbox when floating in the air.
Dark Samus' fsmash has a smaller range, but usmash has a longer range, and dodges slightly faster because of the change of the animations. Finally, it really, really doesn't matter, but her missiles and charge shots fire at a different elevation. DSamus can hit Pichu when crouched, Samus cannot.
Richter's Holy Water is aura based, Simon's is fire.
Belmonts also have a very slight difference as well. Simon's Holy Water has Fire properties while Richter's is considered "Aura", so that means he can hurt Red Pikmin with it. Very menial but the difference is there.
