We could get Elvis in Smash
In today's episode of "Modders have too much time on their hands", a costume from 2016 where Ivysaur is cosplayed by Lucas:

Please tell me there are animations where Lucas's head and limbs retract into his torso

That's extremely good
chrom butt mousepad for smash
They already do that joke with Resetti.
did
would rather have cranky in that role anyway
Wait hold on, when was it found out that the composer was a racist? I mean I know that he’s an asshole due to his grip on the series’s music, but I didn’t know he was a racist asshole!
A titan of the gaming industry like Dragon Quest gets a rep and people will still complain about swords.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koichi_Sugiyama#Political_activities_and_controversy
He's a war-crime denier and openly anti-LGBT.
And he's basically one of the most loved composers in all of Japan. Go figure.
Careful, the last person to complain about swordfighters... isn't with us anymore.
if it really turns out to be a DQ rep I'm gonna be so bummed, what a boring dull pick. I still hope it's someone like Neku or Sora, even Agnes, I'd take almost anything else before a Dairy Queen character
My biggest worry would be that a lot of the Dragon Quest moves are just generic RPG-based attacks (Fire, Wind, etc).
I'm wondering if we got him in how he'd be fun to play.
They'd give us Tiz, the dullest pick in the world and you know it. Their final smash would be creating a black hole of boredom from which none can escape.
More realistically we'd get Agnes who I didn't like very much but would certainly be a big step up over the next possible alternative because the "main" character always takes priority over better characters.
Same could be (and I'm sure was) said about Cloud or Megaman, but they put so much time and effort into making the characters feel unique that I doubt they'd be so generic.
Beat WoL, went through the true end hassle, even got the cheevo for bringing Ganon to the last bit and having him survive
And I must say, HOLY SHIT I AM SO GLAD THAT DIDN'T GET SPOILED. Getting to control Master Hand was a childlike power trip I didn't know I wanted, I was legit cackling like a madman through that entire fight. That plus the insane double final boss fight at the end, and the tear-jerker credits roll with the vocal version of the theme, World of Light has a WAY better ending than Subspace, hands fucking down.
In what world do people look at Mega Man's attacks and go "man, these are generic"????
Even saying Cloud is pushing it, meanwhile, Dragon Quest is literally how most JRPGs and parodies are portrayed.
I mean to be fair, regarding this potential leaked DLC fighter: His moves could involve some monsters from Dragon Quest as well, plus some of the spells in the DQ games are fun, and there's a variety of other weapons that have been used throughout the DQ series.
re: the leaked stuff - https://i.imgur.com/O10gbKo.jpg
I'm talking about how they're portrayed in their own games vs. their translation into a smash fighter. When you break them down a good portion of the weapons in the NES Megamans are just projectiles with varying speeds/trajectories. Sakurai and his boys managed to take them and turned them into a moveset unique to him as a fighter.
I just think it's silly that some people assume they're going to be lazy when we're on fighter #72
I wouldn't really be averse to Dixie Kong getting in with Kiddy Kong as part of her moveset, in sort of a reverse way of Rosalina and Luma, and also expanding on what she and Diddy were supposed to be at Brawl's beggining.
I just can't see Funky or Cranky as anything other than NPCs, even if they became playable in the Returns games. It just doesn't really click with me, but oh well, wouldn't complain.
I seriously doubt a Dragon Quest rep would ever happen. The composer would never let his orchestrated tracks be in the game so we'd be stuck with crappy MIDI renditions, and the DLC needs to include a stage and music. I'd really not want another Cloud shitshow, and Square Enix has been super stingy with Smash content so having a fighter, stage and music seems like a pipe dream.
Besides, if "brave" means him due to his class name in Japanese translating to that, wouldn't the devs have just used the Japanese word Yuusha instead, since they are Japanese?
So can someone explain Spirit board?
I 100% completed World of Light, and am trying to bang out all spirits, but how do you know if you have the spirit displayed?
Sometimes there's a check mark next to them, and other times there isn't, and when selected, it will say CLEAR on the top left, and some don't.
Same thing with fusions, how do you know if a Spirit is fusion only or can be found on spirit board?
Check mark means you currently have one or more of the spirit.
Clear means you have beaten that spirit battle (doesn't apply if you've bought the spirit or got it as a prize).
There is no way to know if you've obtained that spirit on the spirit board yet besides going to your inventory and checking.
On the other hand, if you're in the summon menu, a spirit you've not obtained yet will have "???" as a name.
Thanks for the info, seems like a bit of an oversight on their part as far as 100%ing goes and keeping track of it all.
But I'm at 1,064 spirits, so I may as well go all the way!
