GIven the production miracle that was this game (and how practically impossible it'd be for the next one to not disappoint after this) and how well recieved by everyone it is, the smartest thing nintendo can do is support it for an indefinite amount of time, think MMOs or MOBAS, keep adding to it regularly, and when a switch 2 or whatever comes, just port it and spend the dev time securing character contracts and preparing dlc packs, sakurai is very aware they can't top this, why start over and disappoint fans when they can mantain what they pulled off? it's not like the game requires any more graphical fidelity with a new engine anymore either.
The leak does say 'Marine'
I wasn't sure how I felt about Link's remote bomb but you can do some really fun stuff with it.

Speaking of neat things with Link's bomb:

Ok so I'm Hyruleland in World of Light and I think I got everything except what I'm assuming to be Chrom.
WITHOUT spoiling anything story related or massive what am I supposed to be looking for in order to unlock the forest path? Is it a time etched into the ground somewhere? Or an invisible path?
One of the Owl Statue gives the hint about a "treasure in the forest will lead to the swordsman".
I was running against it for 30 second then accidentally pressed 'a' and did it. Wasn't expecting that
Yeah it's weird because you need to press up for it to appear when you're near it. If you just pass it by the prompt won't show, which is why people get confused easily.
The momentary stall in the air would hurt his pressure ability because you'd lose out on falling lower and getting more frame advantage during those frames. It'd also only be a single hit. His current dair is important for him because frame advantage of multi hits is determined only by the last hit, which lets you aerial earlier and start pressure with less commitment.
There's also another rumor going around (from 4chan I think, so take it with a massive grain of salt as usual) that the remaining three characters in the Season Pass are Steve? from Minecraft, Ryu Hayabusa, and Doom Slayer.
Porky's coming one day... I hope!
I'm sure people would be outraged that Steve got in but not Banjo Kazooie.
People are still outraged by piranha plant. People would be outraged by anything.
I'm sure someone out there is mad that Doomguy might be in.
So I gotta ask because the posts are all deleted now, but what caused Matt to go ballistic back there and nuke his account?
I asked the same thing a while ago, actually. The response:
Postal then verified that the mods weren't the ones who did it. It doesn't look like there was an actual meltdown, but a brief, negative trend. He probably just got fed up for some reason and retreated to Twitter or whatever.
Uh, there are 2 Metal Gear games on the NES, even if one is basically a fanfic, and a Game Boy game... and the Twin Snakes. That's four games Snake has been in on Nintendo consoles that were before Brawl.
And that's not even counting like six random Konami games that he cameos or makes a spinoff appearance in, or MGS3D.
Why is it that every single time this argument comes up the person making the claim has literally zero idea what they're talking about
Who is a good counter to zoners like K Rool, Lucas, and Snake? I'm maining Ganondorf and those matchups are poop
probably a quick rushdown character like fox. he can get into their zones before they get comfortable and whale on them with fast attacks
It would be cool if Geese Howard was a dlc guy
ROB can deflect their projectiles with his side-B and has a lot of good zoning potential himself.
what if the thing thats making people jump to Ninja Gaiden is actually MK Ninja
As has been said, Fox is a great pick for that, having both speed and the safest and easiest-to-use reflector in the game
Mario is also a good option for navigating around spam and keeping pressure on, and against Lucas in particular, Ness is a fantastic counter, since you'll heal tons from absorbing his powerful PSI
Well it's not the number of appearances but relationship really. People argue against certain characters because apparently their relationship with Nintendo is tiny.
Snake could have a grand total of zero appearances on Nintendo and I would still love to have him, it personally doesn't affect me at all. But people can't say Steve can't be on Smash because he has no history with Nintendo, his stint on their consoles has been pretty successful in Japan. The relationship shit seems to to have selective memory to me, that's all.
What's the song in this?
Pit or Dark Pit are both surprisingly good counterpick for zoners. Not only for their reflectors, but they can even interrupt zoning pretty easily with their arrows (plus Lucas' and Snake's recovery can be somewhat dealt with easily as them as well).
Honestly I am kind of surprised how much I much fun I am having with the Angels, never really cared about them in 4, but in Ultimate they are sort of fun to play.
Speaking of "I never cared for X but in Ultimate they feel great"... Captain Falcon.
I have NEVER been even decent at Cap, but all of a sudden he just kinda clicks now, and I've been having a blast!
Complete opposite for me. I've mained him in Melee since I was a kid and I can barely land attacks now. I've played Ultimate almost non stop since release and I've been able to properly land like two knees and maybe one stomp.
I'd lose my absolute goddamn mind if WarGreymon was in Smash
It'd be augumon, WGmon would be final smash
