Super Smash Bros. General v22: Colors Weave into a Spire of Flame

Gimme Spanish dub Agumon, even if only Jorori will understand why.
Gabumon, V-mon, Guilmon... all would work fine as well.
it's in the description of the youtube video
It has been outright stated multiple times that Hideo Kojima personally asked Sakurai for Snake to appear in the series. If you have proof that Notch personally asked Sakurai for a Minecraft Creeper to show up as a fighter, share it with the class.
I also think a cool dlc guy would be Chris Redfield
One of his specials needs to involve him punching a boulder. Maybe his final smash is he summons a giant boulder and has to spam the fuck out of the B button to punch it and the more you charge it the faster it launches across the screen.
Oh my fucking god I think I understand why and I'd lose my entire shit
I'd rather have Wargreymon as the base and Omegamon as the final smash. He could use his sword and cannon in an immensely overpowered combination of Marth's and Samus's final smashes.
I think Leon is much more likely, as cool as Chris is.
Would prefer Wesker though.
What's a character that you personally dislike, but would still be okay with their inclusion in Smash?
Was asked this in one of my Discord groups and honestly it's kinda tough to think of any right away.
Definitely a hard question to answer, because it seems so counter-productive to ask. I really wouldn't mind if any character got in, because Sakurai and his team put in a lot of love and effort for every single character, but characters like any Minecraft representative, any Fortnite character, Doomguy, Master Chief, et c don't really have any basis in reality other than people wanting them in. There are clear indicators and context for what kind of games get representatives, and there's a clear, for lack of a better term, favoritism between the Smash team and other Japanese developers. the fact that Shovel Knight got in as an assist trophy is frankly insane because of that - so many Fire Emblem characters got in because Fire Emblem is way more popular in Japan (and because it's a Nintendo franchise). Bayo, Ryu, and Cloud all got in because their series are fairly popular in Japan, and as a form of cross-promotion (Bayonetta 2, SFII New Challengers, and the now possibly ditched FF7 remake that was rumoured around the time).
Characters and series like a Monster Hunter rep, Dragon Quest, Resident Evil characters, all have some sort of semblance in reality because they're not just popular/produced in the U.S. or specific Asian countries like Minecraft (and exclusively Western game produced by an incredibly Western dev team), Fortnite (popular in China and the West with a Western dev team), Halo (Western game series that was exclusively popular in Microsoft consoles and produced by a Western dev team). Banjo-Kazooie, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro all make sense as reps because they were more than just insanely popular games, they were all icons of some sort and now exist on Nintendo hardware. Banjo and Kazooie specifically make an insane amount of sense, and the only realistic reason they haven't been added yet is because whoever owns them right now (I think just plain Microsoft?) doesn't give a shit about the series.
Probably Cloud if that still counts.
Never really liked him as a character but he had a lot of potential for an interesting moveset, which is really what matters the most. And I'm quite satisfied with the outcome.
I've been having difficulty doing short hops, anyone have any advice on how to do it more consistently?
That's a difficult question because if I dislike a character I usually don't want them in Smash or dislike them because I don't think they should be included in Smash.
Off the top of my head, Slime from Dragon Quest. I would begrudgingly accept it because it's iconic, but I don't like the slime at all.
It's easier on a gamecube controller, just flick the corner of the X or Y button.
Ahh I do use the GC controller, but I never thought to tap the corners of the button. I'd been quickly tapping the center of them instead which is probably why sometimes I do a full jump.
Thanks for the tip I'll give it a try!
Couple years ago I would've said Cloud. I realize he's the posterboy for FF but there's way more interesting FF reps than him. Regardless I'm happy a lot of Cloud fans' dreams came true, and I'm glad he at least has a unique and interesting moveset.
Nowadays I'd probably have to say Master Chief. I know there's a lot of love for him but I've always just seen him as one of the boring FPS 'gun-men'. Still tho I think they could make his moveset really interesting. Somewhere between Snake and Samus I'd imagine.
I guess the only one I'd really be able to say is Sora. Not because I dislike Sora directly, he's fine, but because of the symbol of angst and drama he and the KH series have become in a lot of circles, especially online, especially in certain age ranges.
Seriously, what was it about that game that broke some people? I personally know at least a half dozen folks who fell into one very dark hole or another after becoming fans, and a couple still have social or emotional problems to this day.
That's more of a general fandom thing, look into any of them and you'll see a small but loud subset with severe issues
But yeah Sora is my answer too. I don't give a shit about KH but he'd be a great choice
Banjo and Kazooie? They had their time back in the day, but got bought up by MS, run into the ground, and then left to rot.
I suppose I could let it slide for the sake of nostalgia.
I can already hear the huge collective groan of the smash community for if Steve is announced
I feel like Sora would be in already if Square wasn't incompetent to point it makes Sakurai want to go postal.
smash community is never happy with anything so... at this point they may as well do whatever they want, which is what they did with piranha plant
I'm pretty sure piranha plant still had an overall positive review. I don't see Steve going down as well
People wanted Sakurai's head on a pike for that reveal. Now, to be fair, it was because so many people were into believing that the Grinch leak was real, and the fact that the last direct before release only revealed Ken, Incineroar, Plant, and WoL, and spent a good 10 minutes talking about the options menu and the Fighter Pass, so some of the outrage was a bit understandable.
Piranha plants reveal was divisive at first for sure, even I wasn't all about it. But time passed and I got to mull over it and I think it's an overall positive addition and I think most of the community has warmed up to it. That plus the joker reveal gave me some confidence in the fighter pass on top of it. I'm trying to figure out where to even start with SMT or persona but I wanna play it just so I can know his background, and people say they're good games.
Piranha Plant was friggin' hilarious. I admit, for most of that Direct I felt kinda disappointed with what they were showing off about Spirits and was constantly thinking to myself, "The internet is gonna be pissed with this one." But the reveal of Piranha Plant was the point where I just lost it. My brother was watching it with me and we were both just howling with laughter. Of course, the reveal of WoL and Lifelight shortly afterwards helped assuage any feelings of "but seriously, that wasn't a great Direct" I would've had.
Watching/reading people's reactions to it has provided many additional laughs.
I would have thought the Plant reveal was better were it not for the fact that the rest of the direct was garbage. Incineroar was a terribly boring final reveal and Ken wasn't exactly high profile either, and the way they showed Spirits and all kinds of pointless shit like the options and terrible online choices just made the joke feel a bit lame. It's great how many people got absolutely assblasted at the Plant though.
There's a certain joy in seeing how mad people get at people who play the Belmonts.
Piranha Plant was such a dumb choice but I couldn't help but love it from the start. Can't wait for him tbh, hopefully Joker comes out not long after.
For Persona, 3 is a good starting point though if you just want to know about Joker you can go straight to 5.
For SMT, Nocturne is good.
The direct I think would have been received better had that leak not been so prevalent and believed.
