Super Smash Bros. General v22: Colors Weave into a Spire of Flame

This comic reminds me- Ultimate!Sheik is totally BOTW Zelda in disguise, right? They're using the BOTW outfit, after all.
Here's the breakdown:
OoT: Young Link, Ganondorf
BotW: Link, Sheik
LBW: Zelda
WW: Toon Link
I feel like when they made every character better by reducing landing lag they forgot to do it with Wario
Wario feels pretty great to me still and he was one of my favorites from 4. Don't much like that his dash doesn't trip enemies anymore though, they should've just give him back his Brawl side smash and keep the dash as it was. His tilt is an awkward slap too now, which doesn't seem to have the same sweet spot as the previous one.
Definitely less landing lag though. His aerial kick feels much smoother to use consecutively.

Does love bloom on the battlefield?
She really wants the DeDeDe.
Actually, aside from the costume originating from BOTW, Sheik can be seen as Zelda from the Adult timeline as the normal Zelda is from the Downfall timeline.
Child Timeline: Ganondorf, Young Link
Adult Timeline: Sheik, Toon Link
Downfall Timeline: Zelda
BOTW: Link
I still kinda wish they brought Meta Crystal back as a full-fledged, playable stage. There's so much great Smash Bros. music and I can't fit all of it onto only three stages. All of the Smash 64 music would've suited it nicely.
Excuse me it's pronounced DiDiDick
Having an absolute blast so far but fuck me if Assist Trophies aren't waaay too strong.
At least you can KO a majority of the ones that seek players out
Friend just got me Starlink on a lark
How many weird looks do you guys think I'd get for showing up to a local new year's Ultimate tourney with that controller
ResetERA being late the party

Nintendo you can't say the N-Word thats racist.
Good enough reason for me to take the game off my list.
In my journal i have duly noted "No Smash. Director is a Bigot."
Not finacially supporting that.
Wow. Someone could just look at these people funny and immediately cause them to swear off an entire company's products.
Donkey Kong being Mr. Sandman makes complete sense with the Wii Punch Out game and the Tac one is clearly an unfortunate oversight since the skincolor was changed late in the game.
Dee Jay being Diddy because both live in the tropics is fucking bullshit, though. It should have been the orange color of Mega Man and be based on him spamming down tilt because Diddy has basically nothing in common.
Honestly the Dee Jay and Tac ones are kinda... out of place. I'm not gonna go out of my way and say it was on purpose and Nintendo hates black people etc, but I do think at least those two should be patched. It's pretty "yikes" worthy.
well dee jay is a kickboxer. and the diddy spirit spams side b, which can be transitioned into a flying kick. it makes perfect sense, but they really should've compromised with another character regardless
The fighter used isn't meant to be a 1-1 representation. Usually it's a gimmick set of moves or size that matters most. This is just reaching considering that there are hundred upon hundreds of fights.
Diddy's Side-B was most likely chosen because it's similar to Dee Jay's Jackknife Maximum

There are so many characters that would have been far more reasonable for Dee Jay.
Like, why not a Captain Falcon that spams f-tilt, n-air and/or up smash or a Villager that spams side taunt or my aforementioned Mega Man down tilt slide?
For how tasteful and on-point all of the other SF character spirits are (i.e. Blanka is a green DK), that's pretty questionable. Not once do I look at his moveset and go "man, that resembles Diddy's somersault transitioning into a kick because it involves a foot".

I doubt they were thinking all of these ideas and decided "nah let's do the monkey one", they probably just ran with the first thought they had.
There's a shitton of Spirits that are "stretching it", this one is just getting more of a spotlight.
Paz's bombs still crack me up every time I think about it
I mean it says right there. The Diddy challenge has him favour side specials; The Donky Kong one is supposed to reference Punch Out and he has that wind up punch; Tac is an enemy that will steal your powers/co op partners in Kirby; which is kind of the Villagers whole thing. This really seems like whining for the sake of whining.
That's because it is.
It's also counter-productive to the intentions people think they're having when they point this stuff out. If you're the only person pointing at DeeJay's spirit being portrayed by Diddy Kong and going "wtf Nintendo, that's racist!", even though they are INCREDIBLY similar attacks (jumping forward kick) and not even actual black people are saying it.... well, I generally hate the "Maybe YOU'RE the bad one here" argument, but I'd say it fits pretty well here. The first step to not being racist, misogynistic, etc is treating other people equally, and this kind of virtue signalling doesn't do anybody any good.
