"At first I got contacted by Nintendo that they want to reveal [P5 Joker in Smash] at TGA. He hadn't been produced at that time so we used anime as presentation. We had some hardships on scheduling with the voice actors." This makes me think that they might have originally wanted to show someone else at the VGAs. That or they weren't ready to announce anyone at all but Nintendo forced their hand.
Gyuhuh
I'm already getting frustrated and tired with this Spirits stuff, and I haven't even played all that much within the past day since getting the game.
That's ok! Banjo will just be the next reveal that's all. *Says nervous person for the 10th time* Like me. 😭
Man I was doing so good with smash online and then I get some weeb fuckin krool playing on taco bell wifi, like I knew he was bad but there was nothing I could do about it.
I do ageee some fights are ballbusters like The Boss aaaaaaaaaaa but overall, it’s super addictive and fun lol
What are you talking about That was supposed to be Goofy from Kingdom Hearts /s
Yeah, I can actually see myself sinking loads of time into Spirits mode. Fair play to the devs, it's pretty engaging.
Definitely gonna put money on the latter.
Classic is...better than Smash 4 for sure, but its difficulty system is annoying as hell. Smash 4's system was annoying as fuck though. Just like...Let me try 9.9 from the start. If i don't make it, i try again. Don't jerk me around lowering the difficulty, and please don't punish me even when i use a ticket that's supposed to prevent me from being punished.
I know I'm late but it was a holiday, Mario themed Spirit event. https://twitter.com/SmashBrosJP/status/1077730722549424129 The Gold Dash Mushroom, Dice Block and the boat thing will be exclusive to the event.
I was super pissed off to find that there's a bunch of challenges tied to online, but relieved that they're at least not locking any significant rewards like a unique Spirit or Mii Costume. It annoys me so much when a game isn't 100% completable without online, or if you're playing it say, 10 years in the future. And with that, I really hope these new Mario spirits aren't locked to this event.
Yeah, I saw this. Speaking of which, that Pauline spirit is a pain in the ass.

Someone took lessons from Marth
I mean, Pichu already has a pseudo Ken Combo
So what makes Kirby bad in this game? I like playing him and I get good results but I keep getting told he's bad and has nothing going for him. Then I watched one nearly end ZeRo's Ironman Run (while he was playing Shulk) and him getting used in recent tourney's here and there and placing well but "nope he's terrible" I'm just not understanding where this is coming from honestly and it makes me wonder if people are just sleeping on him because he's not chrom braindead.
A lot of it is holdover mindset, what with Kirby being basically useless for coming up on two decades now (yes really, Melee came out in 2001) Though I bet a lot of it has to do with the glitches Kirby had pre-release, still suffering from bad ledge grabs and bad grab mechanics in general. Most of that was fixed, but the stigma is still there
It's a lot more than that. Kirby's design just doesn't lend to them being good, despite taking a ton of effort to design. (i.e. Brawl has a ton of memory solely dedicated to housing Kirby copy abilities and their behavior is more akin to on-the-fly transformation between two characters than Kirby having a large moveset) He's light, he's high-committal (very few quick moves), the game developers actively sabotage kamikaze grabs and he's a nightmare to balance due to all of his copy abilities. 64 Kirby was only good because he had a reliable spike (down air), an excellent recovery and good anti-approach and shield breaking properties, while Brawl Kirby was likewise also good because he had a significantly better-than-average recovery in a game where most characters were drastically nerfed from Melee. SSB4 had a very blatant recovery ability creep that, like with Jigglypuff, overrode most of Kirby's advantages. Meanwhile, Project M still ended up with Meta-Knight being top tier and Kirby vying for last place. It's their moveset as a whole that's the issue, and it'd be easier to solve if they made him have faster normals or a recovery that properly functions (WTF is that Up B ledge grab range).
Honestly his copy abilities don't HAVE to be balanced. Hell, even if they made his version of their B ability stronger, that would cement him more as a counterpick than an outright good character on his own. How good he is in that way depends on who he's facing. Reduce the endlag on his tilts, dash attack, U/Dsmash, and his recovery, and he'd feel pretty nice to play actually.
Yeah, but Kirby was only really terrible in Melee, wasn't he? Like - he ought to have been at least viable in Brawl and Smash 4, and he was godlike in SSB64.
frankly, the special kirby gets shouldn't always be neutral. for example, give kirby ness's down special instead of pk flash. now that'd be handy!
Kirby with Fox/Falco/Wolf's side special would be godlike Or Dedede's Gordo Or Villager's Lloid
Or Dedede's Inhale
Coming from a comp Smash4 Kirby main, Kirby is just built around a weak gimmick that can't really be viable for high level play. He just has too many points against him that prevent him wrecking shit. -Being large and round means he's gonna catch hitboxes like nothing else -His useful moves are quite short range -No disjoints -His specials are hot garbage -He's quite slow on both the floor and in the air -He's crazy light so he will die very early His strengths lie in his extremely good recovery, the variation his copy ability grants him and his decent damage output. His aerials are really good IMO for neutral and (at least in Sm4sh) he has a good punish game. He's just about fast enough on the ground to techchase with either a grab or dash attack, and I adore his F-Smash just about everywhere. His specials are all crazy gimmicky, which means they're good for the very occasional mixup but are rubbish everywhere else.
https://twitter.com/2GGaming/status/1078024945408434176 What's with these stage selections... projectile fighters are going to have a field day.
Uhhh... Why is hazardless Warioware not on that selection? Or hazardless Mushroom Kingdom U? I'm ASSUMING their ruleset is hazardless, if KPL is on there. Why not add those two?
Ruleset is hazardless, which is why KPL is there. https://twitter.com/MVG_Mew2King/status/1078034176245415936 https://twitter.com/MVG_Mew2King/status/1078036086419537920
The lack of Warioware is frankly laughable. All these competitive stages and you miss what should br a staple in any list. For such a extensive and tidy presentation, the lack of inspiration is shocking. They also ban flat stages (which is pretty horseshit), yet fail to ban Windy Hill for grass.
