just saw neocranium play dmc5 by using only blue rose on human difficulty up until the goliath fight. then he refunded it because it was boring and "too anime".
that's the same guy who also gave up on RE2Remake for similar reasons isn't it
nah iirc he played through all of re2make but he hated the dlc.
REALLY hoping its Dragon's Dogma 2!
I hope it is too, unless they want to make something else. I don't want them to make Dragon's Dogma 2 out of obligation.
He's definitely stated a couple times that he's wanted to make DD2. DD Online had some pretty cool looking shit in it also, I can't wait to see what they can pull off with the new engine. And at this rate it will likely be a Playstation 5 game too if that console gets announced this year which seems likely.
Didn't Itsuno even mention just before DMC V came out that he had a choice, DMC V or DD2. And he went for DMC V. I just want to perform stingers on goblins. That's all I need in this life.
As much as I love Dragon's Dogma, we needed a proper DMC sequel a lot more than a Dogma sequel honestly. It was the right call for pick DMC5 first.
You can already do that in the first Dragon's Dogma. And just like DMC it pushes enemies away from you.
Oh I know. But I want to do it more. Dragons Dogma is a genuine treat to play once you get past the weird damage system I recall it using. It's a shame the base game isn't more varied, but what I played of Dark Arisen certainly added a lot of really cool stuff.
where does Dragon Dogma fall in terms of gameplay? would it be enjoyable as a fan of DMC, or is it waaaaay more RPG-esque?
the latter it's not an action rpg (in the sense of DMC) by any means.
While it definitely has some slight hints of character action in there, it's definitely an RPG at the core. It's a weird beast.
It's easier to compare to Monster Hunter than DMC. Sort of like if MH was a much more traditional rpg.
Manage gear, inventory, your character class and its skill level ups as well as differing stat growths depending on your class, and also managing your personal pawn you create as well for the RPG side of things while handling side and main quests alike and exploring caves and dungeons. Then dive onto a harpy's back, stab it a few times, hop off as a mage slams it with a fireball and then spinjump slash the thing down into the ground before you move onto your next victim.
Sorry but saying Dragons Dogma isn't an action RPG is horribly wrong. If it's not an ARPG then what is it? It's sure as hell not a turn based strategy RPG. And it's not an action game with minimal rpg elements. It has real time hack n slash combat with skills based on all kinds of RPG based progression systems. There's classes, elemental damage types, assignable skills, followers, experience and class leveling mechanics, upgradeable equipment with stats; I could keep going. You think Devil May Fuckin Cry Is an RPG and not just an action game??? I could very easily seeing anyone who enjoyed DMC liking Dragons Dogma as long as they have the tiniest bit of grasp of inventory management and can interact with an NPC to upgrade their gear and get quests.
Dragon's Dogma is Dungeons and Dragons tuned up to 11. https://youtu.be/SZNbabKjKpA
The only thing that holds me back from playing DD every time is just how uninteresting the characters are. I realize the Pawns are the main gimmick, but having an entire party full of empty shells thru the entire game just bums me out. When the inevitable DD2 comes out I sincerely hope it at least has actual characters as party members, or if they want to lean further into the multiplayer aspects, go full online co-op.
I'd like to say something about Dragon's Dogma as well, but I don't want to get lynched
Best part of Dragon's Dogma was the dragon. Especially the actual fight.
I liked the dlc content too. Especially the last boss.
he absolutely hated RE2 as well. in his last stream of it he had some type of psychotic break about how awful it was and how much they "cut out", insulted people who disagreed with him in the chat and told them to fuck off and unsub, asking why they were even watching and saying he doesn't want their views, and eventually he and his mods started banning chat members for "not listening" while he glared into the camera. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FoX88gMoRE haven't actually seen his RE2 video though (because fuck giving him views after that lol) so i don't know if he made it look like he warmed up to it or what
So I beat Devil may Cry 5 for the first time, and I gotta say, despite my rough time with the first game, this game...was pretty wizard. The gameplay, while a bit hard to memorize than I used to with other action games like GoW, it was super fun and satisfying to pull off combos that are all beautifully animated and full of personality. Seeing Nero fly around on the punchline was the coolest thing I've done in a action game in a long time, and I haven't begun to mention the bosses. I do have to admit, since I'm a bit new to the series fully I wanted to commit to "Human" difficulty first since I fear my time would be bogged down on Devil Hunter mode, which I'm planning on doing now that I have a feel for all three characters now. I think my favorite has to be a tie between Nero and Dante; the former being a style I'm more eased to pick up, while Dante's combat styles are still a bit of a struggle to get down but when I get a sword master combo right it just looks sooo good. (Apologies if this ends up a word salad it's like 1am out here) I also like the story for how over the top it can get, and that's coming from someone who before it's release only watched lore videos and fanart with no spoilers and people excited for the game like The Super Best Friends. I think my favorite part in all of this is how the villain in this game is great. For a guy who at the start seemed just like a one-off villain, but as it goes on there is a layer of intrigue surrounding him , V and Dante. By the end it all works out given V's origin story and how being 'Urizen's' human side interacting with our three heroes manages to make an interesting conclusion. That and merging with Urizen forms our lovable Vergil makes V's scenes all the more interesting when you think about the fact that Vergil now sees what V saw up to his merging.Doing this to your villain makes him very interesting to challenge yourself with and I'm happy for that. That and the final battle is really fucking dope; being the final challenge of everything you have done in the game, which all final bosses should strive for imo. But of course this game isn't complete without the chemistry behind the three playable leads, but man Dante just steals the show whenever he appears. The game ultimately becomes Nero's game what with his Devil Breaker arc and his connection to V and Urizen, but Dante making the most of his stages is fantastic and playing him is tricky but learning and perfecting everything is all worth it. I love this game, and I plan to make a few more replays to get a few more Smokin Sexy Style Ratings. This game is already my game for 2019, and I haven't begun getting to see the other games out yet.
I immediately put on the maid outfit that's hidden in the duchess room while hiding from her nutso duke. Made the cutscene of being caught all the more awkward since I was suddenly in womens clothing and not armor. Somehow also my first playthrough on PS3 the jester became my love interest and got captured by the dragon and every endgame cutscene was.....odd to say the least.
Dragon's Dogma rates your.. "compatible interest" for the plot by who you interact with the most out of the world's NPCs. This includes quest givers and shop keepers. To say it resulted in a lot of weird shit for folks would be an understatement, it's definitely a half-baked mechanic.
I somehow ended up romancing Symone and I still hate myself to this day. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/211198/96635f1e-1f31-45ef-9a1c-2fbda1f1903b/image.png
If you don't make sure that little monster loses to you in that race by a country fucking mile you're playing the game wrong. Yes Symone, I, a 8ft behemoth that has the walking stride of a small van can run faster than you. God I loved how the player creation actually defined how your character actually handled too. Physical attributes actually meant something! Lanky fuckers run fast and jump buildings with ease. But it does make you a bigger target and stops you running under taller monsters.
Max breast size for more more inventory weight and no drawbacks.
Yeah but then you won't get the gold statue that gives you a HUGE discount at the shops. As much as I hate that little shit nugget, those discounts were amazing.
When I had it on my PS3 I never got the gold statue(Turns out the game can find out when I'm letting her win and made it fail for being too far), but I made damn sure bowl-cut hated my guts by tossing her off the castle walls after doing the side quest.
