The PS3 port of Bayonetta was also plagued by huge loading times upon accessing any of the menus, to the point that they eventually patched in the option to install the game on the console just to cut them down

i just had a player wait for me to catch up in the mission 7 subway terminal and we finished the entire rest of the mission together, easiest S i've gotten so far in DMD

this is a crazy coincidence but i just matched up with a ruskie V on mission 7 on DMD and we played the whole mission together as well just now i THINK the game matches you up with players on other difficulties and scales it lower - when i played through the final fight with angelos there it took me what felt like 5-10 minutes to get through with an ai V - with that guy the whole fight was about 1-2 minutes and piss easy and it didn't feel at all like DMD

i had the same problem the first time i did DMD7: my AI V died about a minute into that fight and it was a war of attrition to get it done

I had so many players just vanish from my games that I never really got to fully experience co-op like this. The game is quite aggressive in how it drops you, and I get why. But it kinda sucks how easy it is to lose a player. Though nothing does quite beat launching an enemy into the line of fire from your co-op buddy, setting them up to keep that enemy juggled forever. Having beaten DMC 5 earlier today I thoroughly enjoyed the game. Though since DMC 4 I've always kinda struggled to get on with using Dante due to the increasing number of weapons you have available at any given time, mixed in with the real-time style switching. It's much better than what we had in 3 obviously, but it's so much more to take in that I just kinda lose track of what I'm doing (or getting myself locked into a cavalieremove by mistake). At least we FINALLY have a practice area to learn shit. Maybe now I can work out how to use RG without getting fucking slapped around missions. This is the first time I've really appreciated using Trickster in combat to a somewhat decent degree as well, opting to use it over SM for a lot of the last part of the game for a change.

Should I be dragging out fights as long as possible to get more style points? Mission 10 and 12 are really shitty about S ranks. I get SSS rank on each fight but still can barely get 5k points at the end.

I abused RG on Mission 10 whenever I could. For Mission 12 I did the same for two fights, one with a group around the start, and then with the Fury guy. I saved up DT for the boss fight afterwards.

I think I'll just have to beat those missions without taking a hit. It's ridiculous how some missions require waaaaayyy more work than most to S rank.

Yeah its weird, I got my ass handed to me on 17 dmd, using trickster dashes to evade attacks and only doing safe pokes, and still landed 8k style points. And then on 18 I can barely scrape by 4k between the battles, still get my ass handed to me during the bossfight and land around 5k points.
