Anyone know when the Rift S is being released? I'm thinking of getting it when it does. I've got a GTX 970 and Ryzen 1600 which I don't think is good enough for the Valve Index whereas it's okay for the Rift S from what I've seen
"Spring 2019" so within 1-3 months.
if the Steam Controller is anything to go by then we won't even get the Index in australia and new zealand for a good year or so - valve decided to distribute it exclusively through EB Games here instead of doing it themselves and for some reason that took a year to do that whole situation is why i'm worried about if we'll even get the index at all
Yeah no seriously. Vive only did as well as it did because it was the "Valve headset." Unless index is absolute shite, Vive is kill.
It's here boys https://www.oculus.com/blog/introducing-asw-2-point-0-better-accuracy-lower-latency/ Benefits of ASW 2.0 The strengths of ASW 2.0 are best seen in several situations: Improving performance with severe frame rate drop: ASW 1.0 impact peaks at half the native frame rate of a headset (e.g. 45hz for Oculus Rift). However, in some instances, if an app drops below half frame rate, ASW can’t perform acceptably. Even at reduced frame rate, ASW 2.0 can maintain an acceptable view in VR, as PTW’s depth-based reprojection works more accurately for lower frame rates than ASW 1.0 extrapolation. Lowering 6DOF headset tracking latency: Previously, the Oculus PC runtime would only correct for 3DOF headset rotation to decrease tracking latency. With ASW 2.0 and PTW, even if ASW doesn’t need to activate, PTW will continue to provide low-latency 6DOF HMD tracking—regardless of the VR app’s frame rate. Reprojecting repeating patterns and visually similar content: What happens when you have a zebra standing behind a white picket fence? While that exact scenario may be rare, checkerboard and lined patterns are extremely common in VR and present challenges for ASW 1.0—particularly when they’re layered. With ASW 2.0, we can use depth data to separate the objects before extrapolating, which lets us solve reprojection errors.
The new Blade and Sorcery update is out, and it's brilliant. It's amazed me how good Blade and Sorcery is becoming so quickly - it's already dethroned GORN for me. Both games aim to be different games, I guess. GORN is definitely more 'fun' and silly whereas Blade is more 'satisfying,' but I just never play GORN anymore. After so much Blade and Sorcery is just feels floaty and gimmicky.
Only problem I have with Blade and Sorcery is that I find trying to two hand weapons to be very awkward.
I picked it up recently and I've been having a blast. I love the enemy behavior at higher difficulty, and the way shields/axes feel. My one issue is they applied the same slowdown to my empty fist as they did to weapons. I get not being able to swing a big sword as fast as my hand moves, but applying that slowdown to empty fists gave it a punching under water feeling. Speaking of which I should make a punching underwater simulator.
hey guys uhhh angytoad here to show you the charged chandelier speed run glitch in blade and sorcery so all you need to do is charge up your chandelier and https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/185499/7fd9dfde-a22b-4d02-9896-e231f9a48aee/prostrats.webm yeah just like that
what is this, super mario 64
I had a weird propulsion bug happen to me just a little while ago, too. Not sure what was up with that, since I wasn't rubbing up against any physics object.
Yeah I get that too, steam forums says that it's a vive and WMR-specific issue, but it seems to happen most often on stairs and very uneven terrain. I even had it happen in the main menu, it made me fly right out of bounds and stay there.

I can't imagine that BOTW will work well considering that game could barely hit 30fps on the Switch. I'll be really interested to see how that works when it comes out.
I would love to try it out, but no way I'm buying it.
I've got a Switch with both those games so I'm tempted to buy the VR kit. Still, no way it's going to be anywhere near a comfortable experience. A fun gimmick at best.
I had a weird dream that Valve released the Index with no games AND no knuckles. I remember my feelings as " what the fuck is you doing Valve?"
experience real VR at 30 fps and 600x300 pixels per eye People joke about google carboard put this will be much worse.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLhiaMxGhvE Our game The Spy Who Shrunk Me is now out for Virtual Reality! No One Lives Forever has a baby with Dishonored fostered by Austin Powers. You're gonna love it. The Spy Who Shrunk Me VR on Steam
Anyone know of any Hotline Miami styled VR games? That fast paced shooting dodge-or-die thing looks fun as hell. Also physically exhausting, which I am in to
So, how -is- that sword and sorcery game?
You mean Blade & Sorcery? It's pretty excellent after the recent update and subsequent hotfixes for said update. Dismemberment and combat in general is way more rewarding than Gorn's imo, since the weapons don't feel as weightless, and hacking body parts off is much harder. Also you can use the dane axe as a vaudeville hook and pull people to the ground before hacking their head off like an executioner before using that same axe to zipline away from the crime scene. If you have experimental climbing on, you can even hook it on people's shields and polevault over them to get at their backs. It's such a great multitool, I almost wish it wasn't so goddamn OP

You can! You can shrink yourself and run around as a tiny spy.
Any US posters interested in a Pimax 8K? I got mine from Kickstarter, briefly tried it seated, and realized my current space isn't suitable for roomscale VR and probably won't be for a while, so it's just been sitting in a box. I'd rather recoup the backer cost ($539) and have it go to someone who'll actually enjoy it.
https://feelreal.com/ https://www.tomshardware.com/news/feelreal-multisensory-vr-mask-kickstarter,39035.html Do people actually want this? It seems like such a weird fucking addon and all I can think about is how South Park farted in people's faces with the Nosulus Rift.
now you can finally smell Orkel's creations in their fullest of glory
I feel like I'm being pranked.
