it hurts doesn't it
Their response was that they'll like to discuss that document with him on a later date, and as of December, that later didn't come, so eh
For note, B4nny sent the document in october.
New patch released, size is ~24 MB

- This should reduce the occurrence of "Out of memory or address space" errors on high texture quality settings
- In particular, drastically improved memory usage for Linux users using mesa prior to mesa 19.0
- Added Respawn League AUS/NZ Highlander Season 2, AUS/NZ 4v4 Season 1, Asia Highlander Season 1, and Asia 4v4 Season 1 tournament medals
- Added Eu Mixes Cup 1 tournament medals
- Added KnightComp Season 1 tournament medals
- Updated cp_snakewater_final1 to fix missing player clips
- Updated the localization files
Do you think it would be unreasonable if we requested Comp versions of maps in an update to play alongside non competitive versions perhaps? Then make a game mode in Casual that littlerally just plays on those maps specifically? Call the game mode Casual Comp or something like that that allows casual settings ( with hopefully at least the removal of random crits and bullet spread for this game set up ).
They could also add these to the actual competitive section as well and replace non competitive variants as well...
These files just shipped in this update:

Reminds me how blizzard devs were testing molten core with a community made damage tracker addon
A lot of weapons are banned in competitive because they slow down 6s (which doesn't resemble the flagship game experience to begin with) so naturally they'd be less problematic in pubs.
I think another big issue is that 60% of weapons in this game aren't even situationally useful, and are relegated to single digit equip rates and essentially fuel for the crafting furnaces.
Most of these are melee weapons. I don't know why we have so many that are focused on damage. If you're not spy, sniper, demo, medic (the ubersaw eclipses everything though) or engineer, then you don't really use your melee for hitting enemies anyway. And most of those classes I just mentioned use them mainly to fend off spies the first place.
It seems weird for Valve to release a patch on Tuesday at 10 AM their time. Not that it means anything it's just a strange time.
At least, they said "See you in 2019!" That means we will have patches in 2019, at least.
there is a space-themed MVM map where you fight xeno scouts.
god damn this game is full of posibilities.
Looks like steamdb recently started tracking vdf and kv3 files: ↑ | 2 files | M common.sh, M files.json · SteamDatabase/GameTra..
No, it means that they'll see us in 2019. It's 2019. They see us.
all hope of 2019 lies in the yearly Jill post
we must collectively purchase beans and send them directly to valve
for what purpose?
all of valve's monetary concerns are currently solved forevermore.
I'll quote myself from another thread on this.
I see Team Fortress 3 being impossible.
I see Team Fortress 3 that's actually good unreasonably impossible.
The way I see it, there just isn't the writer prowess to really recreate the tone. TF2's humor is a product of its time. While it has worked along the years, trying to make something similar from scratch has two problems; 1) if the old fans find it appealing and 2) potential fans find it interesting enough to look into.
While I won't get too political, I'll say I feel like TF2's avoided the modern 'culture of outrage' simply because it's mostly a minor, vintage piece of work amidst newer, fresher videogames that grab all the attention. Even if it's incredibly active for a game that's reached double digits, you have to admit it's not really in the mainstream nowadays.
As for the other big things like economy and gameplay, well, there's many ways to go about it. Personally I'd dig a GTA Online-like thing where you can make your own merc and, well, you do things like in GTA. However, chances are it'd step on TF2's toes way too much in terms of appeal - and customization would conflict with the well-used techniques TF2 employs for enemy identification.
Not to mention TF2's still chugging along, and people are spending money on it. AFAIK there hasn't yet really been anything like a microtransactions-ample game getting a successor in the gaming industry - at least one that'd also likely employ similar amounts of microstransactions.
Can't wait for tf2 to get more medals than hats this year.
TF2 would have to be in a REAL bad spot to warrent TF3, see 2007Scape, a older version of the game recreated due to the shitty decisions that have transpired in modern runescape. hell WoWfans are hyped that Wow classic will be a thing, due to Blizz having abandon their policy of making great games for a policy of draining their players wallets dry and that seems to be working well for them...
TF2 for the most part, is fine; its just that people are sick of the content droughts and are jaded about Valve due to the fact that they basically abandoned the game and only coming back when they can inject more money-making schemes or hats. hell i'd say that would be good that valve stopped paying attention to TF2
The Valve we loved is gone, with Valve having decided that somehow with a online platform that print money for them meant instead of making amazing games, they should, god knows why, make MORE money. (fuck you Artifact)
the important part of this is they need to confirm it themselves. Not FUCKING say nothing as usual and let users wonder for eternity.
over at SPUD even the most gentle innocent newbie just asks "What is going on with TF2?" and it's heart breaking to read honestly.
Hey now, runescape 3 is a visually beautiful piece of modern artwork soundscapes and storytelling.
It just has a joke for a combat system, PVP and all the associated minigames are dead as a result and because you can literally pay to win now, everything not spent doing the maximum gold per hour since everyone is maxed is considered wasted exp time or money, as the time before you have to buy another membership token with all the money you made ticks down.
I literally had a guy tell me unironically that quests were exp waste.
Such wasted potential. But a very good subsrance addiction simulator.

I will say it again: Its time to sell the IP to someone who cares, as valve clearly no longer does.
no one can afford their most likely riduculous prize lol.
even if that happened, other companies would just mutate it into a third person shooter in hopes of competing with fortnite.
Would DRiller be part of a toxic clique btw? What do you guys think?
dang, i really want some changes made to valve's internal structure; it seems like it's issue is the "pseudo-management" of veterens throwing their weight around and creating a "highschool-esc" hierarchy
He has been essentially confirmed to be at least semi-toxic due to his shenanigans over the years.
man a really hope not. But from what it sounds like from a lot of the reviews i looked through on that site, they could be part of those teams that just arent very clear on their goals.
Its really tough to say, as we dont know if the tf team migrates over to other games at times, or if they just keep dropping projects before completing them. I hope DRiller and Jill and the rest are part of the good sides
