Every comic release since the third one has coincitended with some sort of life and/or career changing experience. Blood in the water: Finished my education Old Wounds: Got a full-time job The naked and the dead: Got a promotion I will get a job at a new company this autumn, I foresee the comic will be out by then.
A stretch, but okay... Just keep the politics out of games in general. You aren't escaping reality if it comes back to fuck you in your dream world. I knew there was more to Facepunch than just games but now I'm certain I don't want anything to do with those threads.
Do us all a favor and stay far away from that dakimura/anime body pillow thread. I made that mistake, won't be making it again any time soon
would putting sniper on a pillow and then posting it in that thread count as shitposting, or would it act as an effective way to advertise TF2's lovable characters
Do not want. That said, I'd love to see this infamous image remade with Scout in SFM: https://i.imgur.com/UIKkfJR.jpg
This was the video that made me fall in love with TF2.
While very funny for me this is a moment of genuine cringe, like the description of the track terrorizer and the implication that Scout once tried to pick up underage girls. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/239377/8f3d9fc9-a54e-4317-82e9-c2de5e1f700a/track.png
The description of this painting scout as a sex criminal has always made me wonder if the tf team understands the line between funny and cringey.
Well you can be 18 and be a senior in High School but yeah that's not the best item description Valve has ever written.
I don't get the "cringey" bit. What is cringey about it? I get the idea that Scout hitting on high-school girls when he's 23 is creepy, but it's not necessarily out of place in the setting of TF2. Did I miss something about the game and its lore or canon that painted Scout as anything but overconfident, a loser, and a bit creepy? I'm trying my best to articulate this without painting me as something crazy like a pedophile apologist or unaware of the nature of relationships or anything like that, but it's not like the description is going into detail to highlight that Scout is some creepy pedophile that smells high school girls' hair. it's just a joke. There's a set-up ("Scout wore this track jacket as a way to pick-up high school girls") and a payoff ("Scout was kicked out because he doesn't attend that high-school and is 23"). It'd be a bit silly to start picking apart minute things like an item description's joke like that. Remember the joke in the comics about how everybody in Gravel Pit is crazy because their water is poisoned? I don't really see anybody picking apart that joke either (setup: people in the city act like whackos the entire comic, payoff: they're actually all just as insane as Soldier), even though, especially considering Flint's water issue, it'd be a LOT more troubling than a joke in a random workshop item's description.
The Canteen Crasher team has announced a new campaign, this time with a charity in mind. Read our post on the TF2 blog for more information.
I know that "This is the hero we deserve" is old right now, but god damn it if this does not apply to the Canteen Crasher team. Just take them on Valve jesus christ please.
I'll buy 10 of them.
Why do some TF2 fans see Overwatch and other colorful multiplayer shooters as filthy savages who must be destroyed?
What?
Doesn't make any sense to ask without context. Hence the "What?". was somebody rude to him for saynig he liked playing the other games? I have seen very little hostility towards other "colorful multiplayer shooters" in this thread, or very well while playing TF2.
Sounds like something that occurs in any game with the slightest loyal fanbase. It's not just strictly TF2, just any game of the same genre. Like CSGO vs Rainbow Six Siege, both communities will have a minority that shit talks the other. It just happens.
My problem with Overwatch is that its gameplay is worse than TF2 in virtually every aspect, and the trickle of new content it gets in proportion to how much money it makes is absolutely laughable - but the game has cruised along from the moment it was announced solely on the virtue of its corporate-mandated diversity. Let's be clear here: the decision to stack Overwatch with waifus of every nationality was a cold, calculated effort driven solely by the desire to make money. And it's becoming increasingly obvious that Blizzard is a toxic as hell company that masks itself in faux-progressiveness. But nobody cares, because they're too busy shipping and/or jacking off to all the characters. Mostly, though, I'm just burthurt that Valve seemingly hates TF2, because if they gave a shit, it could easily be a competitor to Overwatch.
I genuinely hate OW's art style. Even if I liked the game's mechanics (and I do not) I find its look to be so unappealing I cannot stand to play it for more than about 20 minutes. It's just UGLY to me. I also don't think "OW killed TF2." Valve killed large portions of TF2 (community servers, the casual nature of the game) with their idiot reaction TO the perceived threat of Overwatch.
yeh sex is cool but have you ever feel the joy of blowing up a enemy combo with a well placed sticky trap.
id like overwatch a lot more if when hitting or killing someone with a rocket they wouldnt fall on the ground like a knocked off jacket from a stand

Can we get a consumable heavy item which activates "feral mode," causing heavy to run around on all fours, giving him 50%movement speed, and maybe a pounce mechanic similar to the jockey in l4d
I was encouraged to donate my australiums for the Madness vs. Machines fundraiser - so I did! https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1823/4241a904-0adc-462c-9e44-9762c4489d5a/imagen.png Hopefully my dumb items can help sick kids get the help they need
