Since you can't taunt online people have gone back to teabagging which is ironically "worse"
Inkling can "air taunt" by intentionally using certain moves while out of ink People are desperate, man
my prediction is they will add popular video game character john wick from popular video game fortnite season 3 or perhaps player unknown (from popular video game pubg mobile)??
I can't wait till they announce Sans From Undertake (From the popular game Undertale)
jimmy neutron from jimmy neutron, popular nickelodeon telenvision series jinmy neutron

I am confident that kirby mains have adapted the kirby dance using kirby's turnaround animation over and over again as a taunt in all honesty
Finally finished WoL (SPOILERS) Honestly, I'm so glad it's over. Felt like it dragged on way longer than it needed to. The whole final act with controlling Master Hand and the Galeem/Dharkon dual boss was cool and all, but it wasn't enough to make up for how much of a slog everything else was. I ended up using Bowser with a super armor spirit and hyper smash attacks for the last few areas just to get things over with At least I can finally change the main menu music though. As stupid as it sounds that was the sole reason I pushed myself through it. I need my Melee menu themes
Locking menu music options behind completing WoL is a fucking awful decision that I can never hope to understand
This is basically the definition of torture for me because I don't enjoy fighting CPUs and I never liked Ultimate's main theme in the first place.
They should just take the Lethal League Blaze approach and somehow make everything feel like you're BMing which makes it loop back to just seeming normal.
It sucks because we've got Smash at my office and everyone has mentioned how tiring the music gets, I'm about to ask for permission to bring it home and power through WoL again just to unlock the options
It's funny cause pretty much every song you hear while playing WOL is just a variation of the theme so you literally can't stop hearing it until you finally finish
I was playing as Simon, this Jigglypuff puts me to sleep and starts teabagging while I can't do anything. After that I've 3 stocked him and gave him my proud Belmont crouchwalk/teabag mix before the final attack. I'm not usually the kind of player who teabags, but payback is sweet sometimes.
Every original song ever in this game uses Lifelight's leitmotif, every single one. They've been doing it since Brawl and I hate it.
Man, going back and watching even Smash4 footage, launches feel... Really flaccid now, compared to Ultimate. It feels like I'm looking at Brawl again after playing Smash4, everything's so sloooow. Though maybe that's just a testament to how good the gamefeel is in general this time around.
if you kill someone with a footstool its almost disrespectful not to teabag
While i'm not a fan of all that momentum almost completely canceling out if it's not a KO, they really got the impacts good this time around. Besides fringe moments, you can almost feel a KO even if you don't get the special finish effect.
Funny thing is, I don't remember it being that way in Brawl. I almost never used the Nikita back then.
Nikita is way faster and safer in Ultimate, I think they made it slightly weaker to compensate but I might be misremembering how it was in Brawl.
I could write an essay on everything Ultimate does wrong with its leitmotif, and I did but I don't think anybody wants to read a lecture on leitmotifs so I boiled most of it down to the following. For leitmotifs you need four things. The first three are pacing, moderation, and variety. Smash Bros doesn't really get to have the first one because you can't really build up a leitmotif and some sort of attachment to it on the player's side over the course of your game because it's a fighting game. So you get the whole thing full blast right out of the gate. The second is moderation. It's okay to have a leitmotif but you can't have it be 100% of every song. I looked at roughly thirty to forty of the original non-remixes on the Ultimate OST and there was maybe three that weren't just Lifelight. In the menus, Lifelight. In Battlefield, Lifelight. In Final Destination, Lifelight. All Lifelight all the time. So now we hit variety, in which you want to mix up how you present that leitmotif. Ultimate doesn't do this either. This is a problem I've had across multiple games and that's that Smash Bros's original music's composition style is incredibly samey. Like absurdly so. All of the tracks blend together because they're all in the same style, they all use similar instruments, they all open and construct themselves very similarly, and so on. I can't tell them apart and it's so intent on blaring the main chorus of Lifelight that there's no room for anything but that. Once you've heard ten seconds of Lifelight you've heard everything this song has to offer. There's no tracks where it just has shades of Lifelight because it is always shoved in your face. You add on the fact that 4 and Brawl did this and now you've got fatigue from a lack of any real musical ambition on the original composition side of things. The fourth is that your leitmotif has to actually be good, good enough to sustain your OST, and I think that Lifelight sucks ass. This is the subjective one but I never liked it to begin with so there, I'm a special snowflake. In summation Lifelight is a ten second loop that plays incessantly in every track that I never liked to begin with and it's driving me crazy that I'm going to be listening to it non-stop for the next six to ten years.
They did so for most of Melee's, too. It just gets less flak due to BTT and the Metal Battle themes being different. 64 is the only one that has avoided intense usage of leitmotifs.
Melee went back and forth between Smash 64's credits and Melee's opening theme mostly so it wasn't just a single theme when it repeated leitmotifs, Brawl onward they stuck with a single one for every original song. 64 was all original themes with no overlap, I believe, yeah
The Smash 64 credits were only for Final Destination and the trophy gallery, otherwise it was between Melee's menu and intro themes. Melee kinda had two themes. I actually have an old spreadsheet of how each theme was used in the series up until Smash 4, although most of the links to music samples are dead and I haven't added the Ultimate content yet.
Someone tell me what the issue with PK Freeze is? It's a strong move if it lands but it seems basically impossible to land.
It's actually a pretty solid ledge guarding tool, especially against characters with slow or predictable recoveries. Yeets you into the ether if you ever get hit by it off-stage.

Also Melee's theme is probably the epitome of bangers
Man I got tilted today. Barely any wins. I kept fucking up my juggles all the time and it made me lose control of the stage. I try to predict my opponent's direction but I either guess their movement wrong or I press the jump button not hard enough to connect. Is there anyway for me to perfect my aerials?
Something I learned last time I played: Link can block Splat Bombs and their explosions with his Hylian Shield. And not get inked. That's neat.
