No, but I don't see the need to complain about it.
Wow another Fates banner- wait sorry this isn't the FEH thread
Weird post game WoL question: how many stages are there in the realm of light specifically? There's 615 total but I want to make sure I won't be missing anything. I have 378 done after beating Galeem which sounds like the number, but I just had to ask.

i still kinda prefer the original vs his much more smoothed out look, but still, NEAT
Nice, they doubled the droprate of tears from anime haters, just what Sakurai needed for his evil plan to turn every character into a swordfighter and the remaining DLC be characters from Fire Emblem Three Houses
Getting rid of his big dumb neck is the true crime here
maybe its like those birds who don't have necks and then go *zWOOP!*

Honestly I'm kinda torn on how I think that looks.
On one hand at least he doesn't look like a reainimated corpse that's been burned a half dozen times, but on the other, I think they might've filled him out TOO much, making the head look too small in the process. The head also isn't fully consistent with the rest, it still has that "alien burn victim" look of the original, and there's no transition from head to body.
I legitimately agree: it looks too much like a human wearing a Ridley hat rather than, ya know, Ridley. I also quite like the burn victim look that Ridley has given that it's meant to represent an old weathered asshole
Part of what makes Ridley work so well as an imposing and scary design is the inhuman design aspects. Getting rid of the weird-ass neck and making him a lot more humanoid just kind of... ruins his design.
I feel like the realistic pokemon artist would do Ridley and the other more animalistic characters a lot more justice.
You can make his body look alien and strange without just making it look like his skin is falling off
Look no further than his inspiration - the Xenomorph - for proof of that
I've pretty much given up on online at this point. GSP is pretty awful and there's too much lag which unbalances the roster. It's a real shame too.
I agree and sadly the only thing i touch is Battle Arena with friends. The amount of GSP that you lose is ridiculous. I had like 250k with King K. Rool and I lost one match and I lost like 200k.
There really needs to be some chunky changes to online prior to or when they release the first of the new fighters.
all they would need to do to satisfy me would be to re-add for fun and for glory. keep the current system intact in for fun.
Fucking hell, I dropped from 2.2 million GSP with Kirby to 30k. Today is not Kirb's day.
My current top-scoring character is Dark Samus, weirdly enough, largely thanks to sub-optimal opponent picks by pure chance whenever I play DS
Even the characters I actually prefer to play like Fox and Duck Hunt, they're sitting at like half the GSP on average
The matchmaking is partially based on total roster GSP. So getting more characters to Elite Smash after your first few is actually an uphill battle. This is why you'll end up dropping into GSP hell when you try getting your 3rd or 4th best character to elite smash. It really sucks.
Nintendo Online has been such a massive disappointment on the whole that I'm actually gonna sell my switch now. I was only saving it for Metroid Prime 4, and who knows if/when that'll ever rear its head again. I'm gonna put the money towards my PC and get one of those soon-to-be-discontinued GTX 1070 Ti's.
How is it that on their third try, Nintendo ended up putting out the worst online experience thus far? I was dumb enough to believe that the Switch only launched barebones because they rushed it out, but nope.
God, tell me about it. 3 million GSP with ROB my main, Cloud I dropped as low as 300k because i barely know him, and every loss drops me another ~100k. Same with every character that isn't ROB, which really hampers my ability to actually learn other characters.
Fuck this is exactly what I thought of when I saw it
so we would want gsp - which is basically elo... in for fun, and make for glory the "unranked" one?
its amazing how people are unironically suggesting the removal of an actual ranked system for smash jesus christ, the primary thing nintendo needs to work on atm is either communicating their weird presentation of it better or outright reworking it so people stop being like "wtf.... I lose and gain 300k but <pro who is really high> only loses like 1k???" when gsp is a bell curve.
GSP is fine. They just need to streamline the options. They needed to in the first place. I didn't play for fun, but the only issue with FG was being forced to play on FD. FD isn't a balanced stage, and I'll throw my suggestion again, but streamline it even more: 4-person timed with items, 2v2 timed or stock with or without items, 1v1 3 stock 8 minutes. There are just so many superfluous variables thrown in, why have casual online setting be "items but not assist trophies or pokemon" when you could just go on discord or a social media site, talk to people, and set up a match with your own rules? I mean, besides the fact that Nintendo seems defiant of online play being easy to have any amount of control over beyond those parameters.
At this point it's just annoying whenever I don't get Battlefield 3 stock 8 minutes (which is rare because my GSP shot up so high). The one game I got that wasn't BF or FD I just suicided and didn't rematch.
when i say "current system" i mainly mean how matchmaking works. right now, the whole thing is just a clusterfuck of options. which is fine in For Fun, but For Glory needs to be much more streamlined if not a specific ruleset
I think it's counter intuitive to tie the ranking system to the characters themselves when matchmaking is still a regular quick play system.
So...Ness' name in Cyrillic is "Hecc"?
