if TF2 got on the Switch, then yeah it could definitely get Nintendo promos on Switch. but likely not anywhere else
Y'all are literally dreaming about the impossible if you think Valve's going to ever port source to the Switch. Yeah, an engine from literally almost 20 years ago is definitely gonna be feasible on a console like the Switch. Let's not even get into the difference between PC engines and console engines (specifically like the Switch), or how all the additions to Tf2 means it would literally take months just to port every single thing over.
I am pretty sure we were talking about a what if situation. That doesn't mean we think there is a legit possibility of it happening.
the more people explore the possibility of heavy getting into smash the more excited I get and the more disappointed I am that it will never happen
And I am pretty sure what-ifs that go beyond the realm of possibility can be, y'know, corrected and explained as to why they're not possible. If that upsets you, sorry to say, that's gonna happen with almost every what-if you come up with.

Am I stopping people from having fun? The only thing I'm really doing right now is having people reply to me. It's not like you're all forced to stop talking about TF2 on Switch just because I said so. I think the idea is preposterous. That's all there is to it. Is that actively impeding your fun in any way?
How do I avoid DK's just walking me off stages, I'm about to punch a hole into something.
This is gonna sound like shit advice but avoid getting grabbed. DK has awful range, a strong aerial game, but otherwise no way to close the gap. He's also combo food, just try and avoid getting close to him unless he whiffs, play more defensive, spam projectiles as much as possible.
i played DK against a Robin once and it was fucking hell. i almost threw my controller across the room how impossible that matchup felt
DK vs Robin is a match up I have down pretty well since my bro main Robin (DK being mine) You just need to be really good at spacing out his projectiles and take advantage when his tomes run out.
It takes a lot of patience.

Reminder that, as the legend goes, Kamiya and pals intentionally designed these costumes to be relatively conservative, just to avoid offending Nintendo when they finally showed them off. Only for the Nintendo reps to basically say "These look really good, but you can go ahead and make them sexier if you want, we know what you guys are about"

I've somehow wandered into Elite Smash as Bowser by complete accident.
On the other hand, every time I get close as Zelda, my main, I get a laggy as hell match (but not laggy enough for the system to discount it), or an item one where the good items land right next to my opponents, or a 3-vs where I end up in the middle, or a team battle where my teammate is just shit and LOSES 3 LIVES IN THE FIRST MINUTE, DOES A RESTOCK, THEN LOSES THAT LIFE TOO, YOU ARE THE SHITTIEST SNAKE IN THE WORLD YOU PIECE OF SHIT AND I WILL FIND YOU AND MAKE YOU PAY
Or I'll accidentally teleport off the stage, because fuck you if you try and use it downwards, I guess.
Or the controller will think I'm trying to do a fireball instead of a teleport.
iirc Nintendo straight up asked them to make the costumes sexier since they thought it wouldn't fit Bayonetta's character otherwise.

The design on the left is Platinum's original proposal, the one on the right is an edited version with suggestions Nintendo sent back to them.
Gimme reprints of older amiibo using Ultimate renders as a basis. Gimme as many Smash amiibo as Spirits in the fighters category there are.
We already used "weighs in" for Wii Fit Trainer. I expect a TF2 rep would get "joins the team" or "gets on point". Still though, that Orange Box box thing reminds me of this mock-up I made a few years back during the Wii U era:

Mind you, I think it'll be better this time- that patch only fixed glitches, which I'm sure they don't want to admit to. Actually substantial changes will, hopefully, be mentioned
