Super Smash Bros. General v23: Generic Thread Title To Piss People Off Edition

I guessed Goomba a few days before Plant was announced. It's not that crazy.
OK, but guessing Piranha Plant, Ken, and Incineroar, ALONG WITH NO OTHER CHARACTERS.
Do I really have to explain how improbable that is?
Even if it's improbable, it's not impossible. Do you know how many threads were made on a daily basis? There was so much stuff thrown out that it could definitely be a lucky shot.
If you want to, go ahead.
a lot of people guessed ken & incineroar. like, a lot of people. someone even guessed it on gamexplain, including the boxing ring setting. adding on piranha plant plus the added wrong car detail is not that farfetched.
Let's say there are 200 characters that they could have chosen (since I doubt piranha plant would be in anyone's top 200 most likely characters)
Now let's get rid of the fact that there's no way they could have known only 3 characters would be revealed.
That's a 1 in 1,313,400 chance to get all three right.
Do you think there have been enough fake leaks posted on 4chan to make that probable?
there's a 1 in 13,983,816 chance of someone winning the lottery but people still manage to do it.

9 minutes in.
From time to time, people may leak stuff without much fanfare, and those won't gather attention like big name leakers do. They are anonymous users who only get noticed by hindsight.
Or perhaps it was just a lucky guess. All in all, it doesn't matter.
I didn't know this, but evidently the axe that the Belmonts use goes through even solid stage terrain.

Also, you can catch the Holy Water flask before it explodes into a flame on contact with ground.
someone do an hypothesis test on that 4chan post and see if the numbers speak against it being pure guesswork or it bein' real tag me when yar done

That thumbnail makes me sad.
Details you were meant to see and definitely noticed
I'd be totally happy to see Metal Sonic as an echo for Sonic.
Metal Sonic would be really easy to give the Dark Samus treatment because he also floats.
If this were to ever happen, I can only imagine the wrath from the Shadow fans.
And by wrath, I mean they'd probably say mean and edgy things that really have no weight to them.
In all seriousness, are there any adult fans of Shadow that aren't fans of him just because of nostalgia?
I think Metal Sonic is more timeless in his design, whereas Shadow is a bit dated and stuck in the early 2000's version of "cool". So, I'm glad to see others share that same opinion about Metal Sonic vs Shadow as echoes.
I want Prince from Katamari Damacy as a fighter
So basically Metal Sonic would refer to either Sonic with a metal box, or a separate character. Which could also become Metal Metal Sonic.
Nah. I love Metal Sonic, but Shadow is the better echo. As in still working as an echo in the home franchise in all but 3 games.
And hell, that "splitting an echo in two" idea? Alph is a headswap. How the hell would that apply to Shadow and Metal?
Didn't stop us from getting two Roys
I never said "split an echo into two echos," I suggested two "costumes". Shadow and Metal both have similar body portions with Sonic and also each other, and could easily have the same animations re-purposed.
Look at the model swap videos on YouTube for an example of this.

I mean I wouldn't mind Shadow and I definitely lost interest in him over the years I still like his potential but that said I'd reeaally would rather Metal Sonic.
FINAL SMASH, GIVE US METAL MADNESS FROM SONIC HEROES, DO IT
Raiden as a Snake clone (not echo) would be pretty sweet. MGS2 Raiden specifically.
Dash Attack > Cartwheel (doesn't put him in crouch, but hitbox extends higher)
Smash Attacks > HF Blade (deals increased shield damage, deals a small amount of damage even if shielded)
Neutral Special > Stun Grenade (deku nut on a brief timer, only one out at a time, spikes airborne victims, can be triggered by and hit Raiden)
Side Special > Tranq Pistol (long startup, instant horizontal projectile with very long range, if you get hit and don't damage Raiden in 3 seconds you fall asleep for a relatively long time)
Down Special > Claymore (up to two can be placed at once, no detonator, automatic detonation from close proximity to its front, can also be triggered by and hit Raiden)
Final Smash > Covering Fire (a mysterious sniper takes aim from far away, targeting the closest enemy to Raiden and firing twice; uses either Snake's voice for its callout, or Fortune if Snake is fighting)
i truly cant help but wonder if we will ever get more echo fighters
I think we really should have more echo fighters given the relative ease of creating them with how most of them have either minimal or no gameplay changes, and how they're easy DLC fodder, but we probably won't because Sakurai is Sakurai.
Metal Sonic and Shadow have almost nothing in common besides being vaguely hedgehogs and capable of floating, having them be skins of each other would require an incredibly forced compromise, especially since both of them tend to animate differently from Sonic in the first place.
With the crazy amounts of sales Smash is getting, I would certainly hope Nintendo says "Hey, maybe we should do more than just 5 DLC fighters."
Hell, they could just make echo fighters after the 5 newcomers and I'd be happy.
I'd normally agree, but I also want Sakurai to take a break, and I fear for anyone else trying to step into his shoes at this point where we have 80 characters after Fighter Pass #1 and Piranha Plant.
